This mobility project was the second Erasmus+ Global mobility project Laurea University of Applied Sciences implemented. This funding instrument was still a very important tool to deepen and intensify cooperation with the partner higher education institutions outside Europe. All partners were higher education institutions Laurea hadcooperated with for several years. As during the previous mobility project, they were chosen among all non-European partners based on the good experiences of student mobility, good quality of mobility periods and good management of mobilities and plans to expand the cooperation also beyond mobility. With all except one partner we had already implemented Erasmus+ mobilities during the previous project round. Even though we had cooperated for several years, before Erasmus+ mobility became available the cooperation with most partners had consisted mainly of Laurea students studying in partner institutions. Some partners had also sent students to Laurea during previous years, but due to lack of funding in the non-European higher education institutions their students could not necessarily afford a mobility in Europe. Some teacher mobilities had taken place before as well, but the mobilities were very limited due to lack of funding. The previous Erasmus+ project already changed the situation, and this project round made it possible to continue with the intensified cooperation. Also in this project, one of the objectives was to provide possibilities also for students from outside Europe to come to Laurea, to offer them possibilities for internationalexperiences. Incoming students also diversify the student body at the receiving institution and provide local students with opportunities for Internationalisation atHome. Another objective was to start or continue staff mobility for teaching and training. These forms of mobility make it possible for the staff of participating institutions to get to know the other institution and to develop the cooperation with the partner institution. Deeper forms of cooperation, e.g. joint courses, degrees and research cooperation, need a lot of preparation which would be difficult without meeting the partners. Benchmarking of curricula, teaching and learning models, traineeship models, regional cooperation, different ways of working in the support services also takes place during the mobility, and one of the objectives of the project was to provideopportunities for professional development for participating staff members. In addition, staff mobility for teaching provides also the students of the receiving organisation an opportunity for Internationalisation at Home.Funding was applied and received for incoming and outgoing student mobility, incoming and outgoing staff mobility for teaching and training. The numbers of themobilities were in balance so that the incoming and outgoing numbers were about the same. Since most of the students at Laurea study on first cycle degrees, all student mobility took place on this level. The fields of cooperation were Business management, Nursing and Social services, depending on the profiles of the participating institutions. The staff mobilities for training consisted of mobilities of non-teaching, administrative staff. With most partners the cooperation was verysmooth and the quantitive aims were reached, i.e. all funded mobilites were implemented. With some partners more mobilities than planned were implemented, since some mobilities remained shorter and there was funding available. One exemption was Russia. All mobilities from Russia to Finland were implemented, but the outgoing student mobilites not, since there were no interested students at Laurea. In some countries some outgoing mobilities were changed to incoming mobilities or the other way round. The result of the project was good. With the exeption of two mobilities, the quantitative objectices were met. Some mobilities remained a bit shorter than planned. In most cases, the request for mobilities was a lot higher than the available places. The fact that it was possible to get a grant made the students in partners institions interested in exchanges, and it was possible for the partners to send students to Laurea. Also the outgoing students benefited from the higher grants than Laurea is able to provide from own funding. During this second project round we were able to diversify the mobile non-teaching staff mobilities, international office representatives were not overrepresented anymore. All mobile staff members found the mobility periods very useful. Many of the cooperation and project ideas that were originally planned were started, but it was also noticed that within these mobilities it is only possible to start and continued cooperation is needed. Also new ideas for cooperation emerged during the mobilities, and the cooperation continues with all partners.

This mobility project was the third Erasmus+ Global mobility project Laurea University of Applied Sciences implemented. This time we received funding for cooperation with only one country, Japan. The partner higher education institution and Laurea have cooperated with for several years, also in the framework of Erasmus+ Global mobility during the previous project rounds. This project round made it possible to continue with the intensified cooperation. One of the objectives was to provide possibilities also for students from Japan to come to Laurea, to offer them possibilities for international experiences that they otherwise may not have due to lack of funding. Incoming students also diversify the student body at the receiving institution and provide local students with opportunities for Internationalisation at Home. Another objective was to continue with staff mobility for teaching. This form of mobility makes it possible for the staff of participating institutions to get to know the other institution and to develop the co-operation with the partner institution. Since most of the students at Laurea study on first cycle degrees, all student mobility took place on this level. The fields of cooperation were Nursing and Social services. The cooperation with the partner was very smooth. The quantitative aims were reached, except that the number of incoming students was 1 and not 2, but the one student studied at Laurea for the whole academic year. Also the outgoing students benefited from the higher grants than Laurea is able to provide from own funding. Both mobile students and teachers found the mobility periods very useful. Also new ideas for cooperation emerged during the mobilities, and the cooperation with the partner continues.
