Definition and establishment of a new Master Course on “Environmental Protection and Energy Efficient Buildings” in three TN, DZ and MO universities, with affiliation to other three universities. The main scope is the promotion of EU best practices in the terms of educational methodologies and specific knowledge related to the energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings. Two are the specific objectives:1. Curricular reform: to implement an effective curricular development oriented towards the labour market requirements; to support the employability expectations of the graduates by training them with up-to-date methodologies in the field of energy efficient buildings. The curricula reform will be promoted, officially recognized and actually implemented in the six involved Universities in different training directions according to the local needs, with official Master Courses implementation in 3 of each by developing a versatile training programme, flexible and adaptive to labour market requirements. These Courses will be implemented over the project lifecycle; the first academic year will be completed in the framework of the third project year. 2. Links university-enterprises: to develop a networking system among the PCs’ Universities and stakeholders, in order to remedy to the currently fragmented scientific background in Energy Efficiency and to the lack of distribution of knowledge, expertise, information and data. An “EU – South Mediterranean network among Green Institutions” will be officially established, to represent a tangible actual tool for enhancing the leading role of Higher Education Institutions in policies related to Energy Efficient Buildings. The project in general terms also will spread and promote the PCs' awareness related to the EU policies referred to Sustainable and Energy Efficient Buildings and to enhance the approach towards EU best practices, with specific reference to the « 20-20-20 targets, NZEB, etc.».

The MARUEEB project developed and implemented a new Master on “ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND ENERGY EFFICIENT BUILDINGS (EEB)” in Russian and Armenian Universities, according to features and learning outcomes delivering graduates environmental and “green buildings” technological issues’ skills.1. Curricular reform.Implemented an effective curricular development oriented towards the labour market requirements; supported the employability expectations of the graduates by development of a MARUEEB Educational Model (MEM) for new professionally oriented qualification in Environmental Protection and EEB shared among all the involved parties. The curricula reform has been promoted, officially recognized and actually implemented in the involved Universities in different training directions, with official Master Courses implementation by developing a versatile training programme, flexible and adaptive to labour market requirements; these Courses have been implemented over the project lifecycle; the 1st academic years have been completed in the framework of the 3rd project year. 2. Links university-enterprises.Developed a networking system among the PCs’ Universities and stakeholders, in order to remedy to the currently fragmented scientific background in Energy Efficiency and to the lack of distribution of knowledge, expertise, information & data.3. Dissemination of the improved educational elements and their exploitation beyond the project life-cycle.The MARUEEB Network has been linked and enlarged to the existing GREENMA Network, of which some MARUEEB partners are already members; the enlargement has happened by the stipulation of a MoU presented during the final conference in Yekaterinburg in October 2018, also in order to raise public awareness on “Environmental Protection and EEB” and to find sources and means of mid/long-term self-financing.The project in general terms also has spread and promoted the PCs’ awareness related to the EU policies referred to Environmental Engineering and EEB and to enhance the approach towards EU best practices, with specific reference to the «Environmental & Energy 20-20-20 targets».

BlueSCities aims to develop the methodology for a coordinated approach to the integration of the water and waste sectors within the 'Smart Cities and Communities' EIP. It will identify synergies in accordance with the Smart City context and complement other priority areas such as energy, transport and ICT. It will seek to contribute to the achievements of the 20-20-20 objectives. Placing emphasis on local solutions for global issues, the proposal seeks improved public engagement and enhanced decision-making processes at all political levels based on scientific knowledge and adequate social and economic awareness. BlueSCities will build on the hitherto successful implementation of the EIP Water Action Group, CITY BLUEPRINTS, which will provide the data required for a practicable planning cycle. The necessary socio-technological tools will be produced. It will aim to improve exchange synergies between researchers and users, decision-makers and consumers, industry, SMEs and national and international authorities. The project in order to achieve this, will further review the current situation in 50 European cities employing its unique methods of analysis, produce detailed case studies of four specifically chosen municipalities/cities, and demonstrate a self-assessment baseline assessment tool for water and waste in cities, which will enhance the implementation of European Smart City activities, to be published in the Blue City Atlas. It will, in a carefully planned step-by step process, collate data and formulate sufficient recommendations in order to produce an administrative methodology capable of eliminating cross sector barriers between water, waste and Smart City sectors to be described in a practical guidance document for the use of all relevant stakeholders. This will be supported by a programme of dissemination ensuring a wider public understanding of the nature of water and waste systems within the structures of European municipalities, regions and countries.

EcoeFISHent demonstrates a replicable systemic and sustainable cluster for territorial deployment of the climate-neutral circular economy by creating six multilevel and synergic circular value chains (CVC) interconnecting blue- and green-economies to reconcile human industrial and economic activities with marine ecosystems and marine protected areas. The EcoeFISHent innovative bio-mass pre-treatment and extraction technologies will enable sustainable and efficient exploitation of fish processing side-streams (FPS) by obtaining bio-actives and galantine for high value-added food supplements and skin care products, biodegradable and compostable barrier layer for food packaging. Other fishing- and fish-industry side-streams (FFS) will undergo the Black Soldier Fly bioconversion to yield innovative soil fertilizer, oil for biodiesel and chitin for cosmetic applications. End of life fishing nets from aquaculture and fisheries will be recycled and converted into automotive polymer-based components and into packaging for cosmetic products. The multilevel interconnected cluster will be managed by a cloud-based platform communicating with physical IoT systems enabling safe and efficient operation of the logistic and transport infrastructure. The cluster busines model and the cluster digital twin will allow simulating critical and optimal scenarios for quantitative analysis of cluster performance measured by dedicated KPIs, also enabling the assessment of the cluster replicability in other geographic areas and fostering investments pipelines. Community and stakeholder?s involvement will be promoted also in the implementation of specific actions for marine ecosystem preservation by modeling, application of better practices and technologies for strongly reducing by-catch and for stopping ghost gears. Social and justice inclusion programs will be implemented by employing disadvantaged individuals, to increase overall cluster employment and to apply distributive justice criteria
