These topics are integrated into different policy guidelines, corporate governance and development concepts, and the daily habits of people. While green lifestyles have become a fashionable trend among different groups of the population, many aspects of the environment in modern society remain unclear, and individuals rarely comprehend the extent to which their actions impact the environment. Mitigating these effects and preserving nature are critical to reducing climate change, and it is essential for people to be aware of the steps they can take. The first step is to initiate change within ourselves, followed by disseminating this information to those around us. With this project, we aim to provide participants with a clear understanding of different aspects of environmental issues, the role of social capital, sustainable development, and sustainable lifestyles.During the Youth Exchange, we will address several environmental issues, such as waste management, transport, and sustainable urban planning and development. The aim of the project is to raise awareness among young individuals about environmental issues, climate change, and sustainable living. To achieve this objective, we have set several goals:•Exchange the best practices and generate new ideas to reduce the impact of human activities on the environment.•Exchange information, knowledge, and best practices to protect the environment and promote sustainability.•Raise awareness among young individuals about sustainable lifestyles and mindsets.•Promote social capital through youth initiatives.•Promote the Erasmus+ program. In terms of youth work practice, we aim to promote a sustainable mindset among youth workers and young individuals, particularly concerning their daily habits. The brainstorming sessions conducted between partner organizations regarding youth work practice revealed that a sustainable mindset would contribute to the effective use of various resources, reducing waste, proper waste sorting, and recycling, thereby minimizing the effect on the environment. These practices may have a small-scale impact, but they promote the idea of sustainability among young individuals, which will propagate further, for example, in their homes, schools, universities, and other spheres. Moreover, with this project, we seek to bridge the gap between different European countries by exchanging practical ideas and implementing them in other countries. We aim to make participants understand the scope of the problems that climate change can cause, so they would be motivated to protect the environment and follow the principles of sustainable living.<< Implementation >>The Youth Exchange will utilize non-formal educational methodologies, including workshops, brainstorming, facilitated discussions, team-building activities, presentations, theatre plays, study visits and excursions, and reflection on learning outcomes. Through these methods, participants will have opportunities to share their experiences and ideas within the group, as well as in mixed teams during specific sessions aimed at creating videos and an online manual. The target group for this Youth Exchange is composed of 60 young people between the ages of 18 and 30, who have an interest in nature, environment, or sustainability topics, and are students or NEETs. They must also be willing to share their experiences and learn new skills to become more active in protecting the environment and promoting a sustainable mindset and actions in their local community. In addition, the project will involve young people with fewer opportunities, including refugees and those who face cultural, social, and economic obstacles.<< Results >>The intended outcomes of the project include the production of videos that promote environmentally friendly attitudes and behaviors, as well as an online manual that outlines the concepts surrounding sustainability and environmental protection discussed during the program. The ultimate goal of the project is to disseminate the idea of sustainable living and the imperative to protect the environment, not only among the participants but also within their wider social networks, including the business sector. The expected impact of the project is to increase participants' awareness of environmental issues and to foster a sustainable mindset among them. In addition, the project aims to contribute to the development of a self-sustaining system that promotes zero waste or at least minimizes waste production. The results of the project may also have an impact on waste management, transportation, the use of renewable energy sources, and other sustainable actions that can reduce the impact of human activity on climate change. The project may also provide participants with ideas for developing their self-employment skills, which is one of the main objectives of the Erasmus+ program.
