It connected 8 EVS partners (KERIC Slovakia, ICYE Bolivia, VASE Ecuador, DEJAVATO Indonesia, COM Myanmar, JRP India, AJP Portugal, United Vision the Czech Republic).During the project, 11 European volunteers did their EVS in Ecuador, Indonesia, India for 6 months, in Myanmar for 4 months, and in Bolivia for 11, 6, 1 months - teaching English using non-formal education methods to people in the local communities and doing an SCD (sustainable community development) project on topics such as entrepreneurship, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), environmental activities or eco-tourism. Through EVS, they gained new personal and professional skills, increased their employability, and became more open and tolerant of other cultures. At the same time, the activities of the volunteers supported the sustainable development of the local communities and the empowerment of its people. 5 EVS volunteers did their EVS in Slovakia and Portugal. The mutual exchange between European and OPC partners helped improve the quality of EVS projects and help to create a strong EVS network among the partners. Volunteers cooperated the first with European volunteers in their own country and there was an exchange of experience and knowledge about the country and methodology.19 people took a part in TETSCD training (Through English teaching towards sustainable community development training). European partners sent 1 person responsible for the preparation of the volunteers and 1 person who provided methodological support to the volunteers. Asia and Latin American partners sent 2 local educators who were active in the HEEG, one of them a person who was later responsible for the support of the EVS volunteer during his/her stay and one of them a responsible person from the host organisation.2 EVS organisations were new-comers to EVS, so a supervision visit was organised one month after the arrival of the volunteers to monitor and support the host organisations as well as the volunteers. The ELT (English language teaching) module was adapted and used as support for volunteers with no previous teaching experience to deliver English lessons using non-formal education methods to people in the local communities in Ecuador, Bolivia, Indonesia, India, and Myanmar. The SCD (Sustainable Community Development) toolbox was adapted and used to provide simple activities for volunteers to help the sustainable development of local communities in Asia and Latin America. The following activities took place during the project: - a kick-off meeting(11 project coordinators and trainers) - 15 EVS projects - 19 mobilities of youth workers - participation in TETSCD training (Through English teaching towards sustainable community development training)- 2 EVS supervisions in new partner organisations (2 experts for each visit) - online evaluation meetings (10 project coordinators and trainers) The methods of work followed the principles of non-formal education.

The project answers to the European Institutions’ call for more educational opportunities related to local and international culture heritages: cultural patrimony serves as a tool to develop young people critical skills and stimulate a sense of ownership, thus fostering social cohesion and fighting discrimination. Within the project, cooperation between Programme and Partner countries and exchange among participants will encourage intercultural citizenship education thanks and through the celebration of cultural heritage.FuSION project will develop innovative tools and methodologies based on the valorisation of the (inter)cultural heritage to support the efforts and quality of work of youth workers fostering participation and to enrich learning processes of young people. The developed approaches will support the continuous professional development of youth workers in partner countries, improving the quality of youth work, and the engagement of the local communities in volunteering activities involving international volunteers and interactive actions. More than 36 youth workers, 12 local youth organizations/informal groups and 300 young people will join project activities related to (inter)cultural heritage testing and improving gamification approaches, collected in a special KIT, and non-formal education methodologies which will allow 9 volunteers to develop crucial transversal skills for their personal and professional development. They will be engaged in 10-months long-term mobility in 6 countries and 4 continents learning more on intercultural learning and sharing their own cultural heritage. All learning experiences will be part of a Manual on (inter)cultural heritage which will provide guidelines for competence-oriented heritage education, present methods for involvement and major contribution of young people and will provide inputs for building networks and partnership between youth and cultural organisations. The official website will serve as means to share non-formal activities and approaches on (inter)cultural heritage education and provide major visibility to the project. The project is perceived by partner countries as an opportunity for major incisiveness in support discovery and celebration of cultural differences between various cultural groups and for the creation of new educational approaches and new professional networks among organisations from Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa.

This network shared its best practices among itself, within the organizations and among the local communities. The short period EVS (2 months) and job shadowing (14 days) is intended to accommodate the needs of young people who are looking for jobs and also youth workers who are looking for experience in that approach to economy. European partners were contributed by their long experience in youth work and inclusion politics.Partner Countries:• From Global South: Bolivia, India and Uruguay.• From Europe: Hungary, Portugal and Spain.Aim: Developed a platform for the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities through the import and activation of the social and solidarity economy model, and fostering their mobility and employability within youth work in a sustainable way.Objectives:1. Develop the competences of youth workers to upscale their work with youth in matters related to social economy.2. Empower young people with fewer opportunities and support their mobility and employability.3. Sharing best practices learned throughout the project on organizational, local and transnational levels.4. Support youth vocational education and entrepreneurship learning.Activity Steps:1. Kick-off meeting.2. Sending 3 youth workers from Europe and 3 from Global South on 14-day job shadowing programs.3. Sending 24 volunteers from Europe and 6 from Latin America on 2-month EVS programs.4. International training organized by the youth workers in the aftermath of their job shadowing for making recommendations for creating inclusion practices.5. Developing 30 Vlogs made by volunteers 6. Developing a manual that tackles the crisis of youth unemployment through introducing social and solidarity economy.Desired Impact:We expected this project to positively influence the employability and mobility of youth with fewer opportunities and raise the caliber of youth workers, not only within the partner organizations, but in much wider networks after the dissemination of results, videos and recommendations, and open-sourcing the training manual.

Furthermore, the project will help youth workers gain new competences, improve the quality of youth work and enable 18 young Europeans to do EVS in another country/continent. The result of the project will be a stable and sustainable network of 9 organisations willing to host and send volunteers with fewer opportunities abroad, 14 EVS projects for youth with fewer opportunities abroad, follow-up EVS projects, an EVS supervision training module and an improved quality of youth work. The primary target group are young people aged 18 to 30 in each partner organisation, preferably youth with fewer opportunities. This project will support their further personal development and preparation for the project. Secondary target group of the project are a project coordinator and 3-6 youth workers in each partner organisation which are actively involved in work with these young people. The youth workers will gain new intercultural and professional experience during this project. The local community in all partner organisations will also greatly benefit from the project – especially in terms of intercultural learning and tolerance. The following activities will take place during the project: - Partnership building seminar (10 project coordinators + KERIC experts) - EVS (14 young people with fewer opportunities) - 6 EVS supervisions during the second month of the EVS (KERIC coordinator + European coordinator) - Final meeting (9 project coordinators + 1 expert) Through the youth mobility projects, this project will help to solve the issues connected with the community where the young people with fewer opportunities come from. By motivating the young people to change their lives, gradual steps will be taken to the change of their community as such. We expect that the employability of young people with fewer opportunities at the labour market will be increased. Secondly, we expect that the living conditions of the young people and their community will be improved in the long run – especially issues of poverty, social exclusion and isolation. Other themes that will be particularly addressed by the project are: cultural diversity prejudice, racism, xenophobia participation of young people in public life inclusion of young people with less opportunities global issues European, Asian and Latin American awareness Underdevelopment of rural areasThe methods of work follow the principles of non-formal education.

Altogether twelve youth workers will participate in two seminars before and after a one-month-long job shadowing period spent at one of the partner organisations. The activities foreseen will be composed by informal and non-formal learning methods such as learning by doing, peer education, active participation through a socio-educational approach. This Strategic Partnership of the organisations aims to:• promote discussion and dialogue about social, political and economic dynamics that lead young people to turn away from school and from the world of education;• develop the personal and professional competencies of youth workers in the field of non-formal education and learning; • identify and exchange good practices contrasting early school leaving suitable to be applied in the participating countries and ready to experiment and further develop at a wider international level.A manual as final deliverable of the project will include situation studies and good practices for combating early school leaving and for promoting school attendance. It will be available on-line for free beyond the project’s lifetime. In order to produce this tool the project foresees the following mobility activities:1. Transnational seminar of youth workers with the aim to share and exchange good practices2. One-month job shadowing period at a partner organisaitons3. Final seminar of youth workers in order to evaluate the experience and to develop the contents of the manual. The last day of the seminar will be open for discussion with the public (stakeholders).Besides the professional development of youth workers dealing with the issue of ESL and school attendance in general the project will result in the enlarged capacity of the participating organisations and in the development of quality youth work offered by other actors in the field (especially of the ones working with early school-leavers and students at risk of school drop-out), in the strengthened European dimension in the participating organisations and their enlarged network, and most importantly in the identification of good practices addressing the topic and applicable at international level.
