We want to prepare and motivate participants and leaders to be responsible consumers, aware of their choices. We want them to understand how consumption is related to other global problems, above all migration and what skills are needed to face the consumption system we are part of. We will pay special attention to critical thinking and media literacy, encouraging participants to analyse media information and create their own content. At the end of Youth Exchange participants will create social projects for their own communities, related to responsible consumption. They will get motivation, inspiration and skills needed to take real actions. They will also develop their social skills such as working in group, leadership, communication (including above all expressing their own opinions and giving arguments), empathy, creativity. They will get to know people from 7 different countries, experiencing the power and potential of diversity and improving their English skills. Additionally leaders will develop their skills connected to leading workshop, thanks to real experience and detailed feedback. They will be able to bring new skills to partner organizations, increasing the quality of their work. Youth Exchange will also give more visibility to organizations themselves and will be a great moment to strenghten relations and create ideas for further collaboration.<< Activities >>We will invite 5 participants + 1 leader from 7 countries, which give us 35 young people and 7 leaders. Participants should be motivated to deepen their skills and knowledge in the topic of responsible consumption and share it with others. They should speak English in communicative level and be willing to create and implement social projects after the Youth Exchange. We will invite to participate young people with lower chances, including migrants, which is especially important for us, as presence of migrants during workshop regarding this topic will be very enriching. We will try to reach them and other young people with lower chances through our partner organizations which know the local context and places where those people are. We will pay attention to keep the balance between people of different gender, skills and experiences. To evaluate that, we will prepare detailed application form. Criteria, which we will use in selection process:- Motivation to partcipate and implement social project after Youth Exchange- Background (people with lower chances, including migrants, will be selected as first)- Gender balance- Previous experiences with Youth Exchange (people who never participated in Youth Exchange will be selected as first)- Interest in the topic of responsible consumption- Involvement in voluntary and social work - English skills (participants have to have at least communicative level of English)<< Impact >>Results of Youth Exchange:- 32 participants motivated and prepared to be more responsible consumers- 7 leaders prepared to lead their own workshop within the topic of responsible consumption- 7 social projects planned and ready to implement in participants' communities- at least 2 online meetings (webinars) with changemakers working in the field of responsible consumption and food/things producers from all over the world- 1 educational material with scenarios, exercises, stories and links to website related to the topic of responsible consumption which we will share with participants, leaders, partner organizations plus 10 additonal organizations interested in the topic. Part of it we will also share on line on Creative Commons licence- 7 organizations get higher recognizion and visibility on national and international, strenghten the relation between each other and create new ideas for future collaboration- at least 30 posts in social media about Youth Exchange and implementation of social action, which will allow us to reach at least 5000 people with message of responsible consumption and the idea of Erasmus+ (each post will include information about Erasmus+, and particular action)

As they said ""we want to learn more about how to develop business, where to start from, how to make a step from hobby to business and we want to create things with our own hands. But where to find all information?"". And that's how this project idea was developed. We want to use the resources around us 1. forest and wood, rocks - something that nature gives us. 2.Second hand shops where to buy cheap materials to create second hand bags (from old t-shirts), earrings from leather jackets, etc. 3. Use WISELY the one resource we all have access to - internet! Pinterest, youtube, facebook and other webpages. We all have all resources, but sometimes young people can't connect the dots and use them wisely.Let's bring together young people who want to learn new skills and turn them into a small business. Our idea is to use the resources we have (like second hand shops for cheap materials, surrounding nature), knowledge of each other, we will also learn how to use social media for our project (finding ideas on Pinterest, youtube, facebook etc. and after that SHARING ideas one these platforms). And we will learn what happens when you have the right people (supportive, fun, great, and amazing) next to you, resources, place and knowldedge all at the same time. Magic happens!MAIN AIM - develop social media literacy, business development skills, cooperation skills, critical thinking, leadership, and generate new ideas, show what Erasmus+ are about. One of the aims of this project is to show different ways how to spend your free time.We want to encourage young people to do do something in their free time with the possibility to earn some money. During the project we talked about business, working for someone else, having a private company, being self-employed etc. We wanted to show youngsters that it is possible to start your own thing and as silly it might sound, be happy while doing the things you actually like. How many people go to work without a smile on their face, without motivation, without that feeling you are doing something great? We also aimed to: get intercultural experience by meeting with the people from different countries, cultures, backgrounds, religions, practice tolerance and break stereotypes & prejudices; build meaningful relations and and have future co-operations on the basis of this project under Erasmus+ (for example, this project was designed during one of youth exchanges) increase employability and participation of youth, develop professional skills and increase their efficiency; improve the quality of local (by visiting local youth house and meeting with local youngsters) and international youth work (by creating a strong network of organisations, who will generate new ideas for future projects); encourage to share needs of their community - before coming to this Youth exhange, participants will be asked to research situation in their home cities and villages and try to see which business niche they could develop); make the work interactive, fun, and valuable. Like adults, youth are more likely to get involved and remain active in projects that are interesting and fulfilling, but most importantly youngsters like to be involved in decision making, generating ideas and implementing them. For this project the main idea is for youngsters to come up with their own workshops (with the help of leaders before YE) and lead them. So that they can gain confidence and they have the ability to do it in future. We will have Advances planning visit (APV) and after aprox.1,5 months a youth exchange (YE) in the countryside near city Liepāja.Why YE? To learn how to learn, how to be a leader, how to stand up for opinion, to learn to share thoughts and ideas, to become more as an European citizen, to discover yourself, your limits, to learn how to cooperate and what good cooperation can benefit in life. Why outside the city?We decided to spend more time in nature. We want to see how we can use the surrounding enviorment for our benefit and what happens when we are not stressed about beeing in the city that never sleeps. We want sessions next to the beach on how to calm you mind and learn new breathing techniques (study shows that knowing how to breathe also help us to control our emotions (anger included) and fears and keep a clear and sharp mind) meet locals in the small village of Bernāti and see how people live there, learn from them. In the small village of Bernāti we have lots of small entrepreneurs. Youngsters will have the chance to learn how they can provide themselves with food and basic knowledge in business management.<< Implementation >>Advanced planning visit was planned to be in July 2022, 1 month before the project. In the beginning all partners decided to have it online, due to increased expenses (electricity, food, accommodation etc.). Then, because we had to change 2 partners (Italian and Polish partners decided to leave this project. (all changes were confirmed with Latvian NA), we couldn't managed to do it before the project. Instead of Italy, we welcomed Georgian organisation. Instead of Polish organisation, we got another Polish organisation - Green Elephant. Then in August 2022 we received information from Belgian and Croatian partners, then they leave the project. Instead of Croatian organisation, we invited Lithuanian organisation. Instead of Belgian, we asked Latvian NA to allow us to increase participant amount in all countries. Unfortunately with all these changes in project, we were not able to have APV. Instead the Latvian leader Andra Štāle had phone confersations with Georgian leader George Bukia and his subleader - Mariam Bukia. And also project planning session with 2 Latvian participants - Agija Jirgena and Laura Glaudāne. We managed to plan activities, create workshops, divide tasks. For the YE as a task for participants, we asked them on the 3rd day to come up with different workshops (schedule is visible in the attachments). During a creative session, participants answered these questions with the help of Agija, Andra, George, who have large experience in different projects and non-formal education. 1.Name of the activity.2.What type of activity.(for example - group work, discussion, contests, theatre, show etc etc)3.Idea of the activity. Why you want to do exactly this activity.4. How you will do the activity.5. Who will lead the activity.6.Goal of the activity.7. Length of the activity.8.Outcome of your activity. (for example - a leaflet, video, online survey for others, or anything else)9. What participants will learn from it and why it's necessary.10. Add anything else to this list.Youth exchange activity. The main Activity was YE and was held in Bernāti from 15.08.2022 to 25.08/2022. We were 4 organisations, 0 participants in total. The applied methods were small group discussions, workshops, simulation exercises, theatre sketches, group building exercises, name games and icebreakers, active discovery of the city, cultural presentations organised by the participants, open space for developing own follow-up activities, daily reflections, peer learning and feedback.Partners reached participants from different regions & social groups in this way they have manage to identify and engage participants from communities with fewer opportunities, to be more precise, the majority of the Georgian group were IDP’s. Half of Latvian participants were coming from deprived urban areas. In their specific social environment they face particular hardships in economic concerns and traditional structures dominate the social life, resulting in limited personal freedom if comparing their situation to their peers in the urban centres. The participants from Poland composed of mixed groups and 2 of them had a migration background which makes their access to societal welfare more complicated & equal access to education & the labour market is not guaranteed. In annex there is a list of participants with fewer opportunities. Partners & organisers spread the opportunity with all their means and in this way they managed to reach this target groups, this was a guarantee the variety of profiles from participants Age group of the participants - from 18 to 30 (and for leaders 18 +)8 participants were facing social obstacles.4 participants - health. 4 participants - economical obstacles.1 participants - geographical obstacles.Every day participants had lots of workshops that they were attending. We also gave them the freedom in the evenings to work on the body movement, how to express your feelings and emotions through dance, have movie nights, cooking nights, board game nights. Together they learned how to work as a team in the evening activities.<< Results >>We reached better understanding between 4 different nations and overcame mistaken stereotypes through different discussions and workshops. Through this project and the different tools used in it we worked toward matching the aims of E+ program such as wellbeing within youth, contributing to their active and responsible inclusion in local communities with a proactive and inclusive attitude.Impact on young participants: personal development, development of creativity, imagination, communication abilities, collaboration in groups which can be used within their communities, at school, some interests groups, different courses; making great long-lasting friendships which may profit in future. The Exchange was based on the principles and practice of non-formal education taking into account participants’ needs, motivations & experiences. In the YE participants were given 2h to come up with ideas for leading different sessions for other participants. In this way they learned how to work under time pressure, work in international team, public speaking, dealing with challenges, helping each other. Also before the YE receiving organisation asked participants to fill in a questionnaire and answer these questions:1.What is your motivation to join this project?2.Please describe your experience or your thoughts about the topics of this project. What is your biggest challenge? Is there something you want to change about your daily life or life in general? And other questions. All participants filled in the questionnaire, organisers looked at the answers and slightly changed the program according to the needs of participants. But this also helped participants to think about their possible learning outcomes that will happen during the YE.The methodology was based on learning by doing, which refers to the process of making meanings from direct experience. The method has been implemented by the concepts of learning by thinking and learning by loving. Learning by thinking denotes the action of reflecting on the process going on, in order to get knowledge from it. Finally, learning by loving expresses the importance given to motivation and passion that enrich the learning experience. Furthermore, our partners improved the skills they were aiming to improve, that their trust in our organisation was strengthened and our relations too.Project also showed us that our partners develop a stronger sense of collaboration between Latvian, Georgian and Polish organisations. For Lithuanians the project was inspiring for them to want to do more similar projects. In October we submitted new projects together with Georgian organisations and Polish organisations. This project motivated Keep the CHange to apply for an accreditation and also KA2 projects. Young people from Nīca youth centre came to this YE, participated in some activities and learned about Erasmus+. NGO ""Keep the Change has delivered more than 10 activities after this YE in Nīca high school, where youngsters have expressed their wish to try to write an erasmus project for their school to go an an exchange as a class. As the result of the project participants have:Implemented their ideas through practice and carried out their ideas, became more creative and able to stand up for their opinion;Improved communication skills with people from different backgrounds and views.Develop themselves as more active European citizens.Introduce other participants with info about their countries, their cultures, traditions, cuisines, everyday life, etc. without stereotypes and prejudices.Learned about methods of non-formal and in-formal education and have Information about ERASMUS+ program.Got future partners for possible new ideas.Skills:Skills how to spread the information and have a positive influence on the community.Leadership skills - leading workshops and then talking about outcomes and process, how was it, how to improve it.Decision making. Time management. To be more specific:Laura Glaudāne and Māra Krista Jefimenko became part time employees in Latvian organisation and helped to write new projects.Half of Lithuanian team participated in another project in Georgia, because during this project they learned what is erasmus+ and what skills you can gain. In Georgia they shared with others what they learned in this project. Georgian participants also took part in other projects. Polish participants. Wictoria - So, 20.08.22 when I came back to Poland I had a great meeting with my group of friends (25 people) from my university and told them about my Erasmus+ experiences, they loved the idea of this kind of project, becouse none of them had heard of it. Agata - Friends also reached out to me while we were in Latvia, and asked about it after our return back to Warsaw. I was glad to tell them about what a wonderful opportunity it is to travel to a different country for free and to meet amazing people of different cultures, learn from them and make great friends. I even helped 3 of my friends to look for platforms on which they can find further similar programs for Polish people."

This will lead to increases in youth participation level and show the youth that their voices can be heard and they are an extremely important part of society. UNICEF has adopted the rights-based approach to children and young people, viewing participation as a human right and an end itself. Participation matters for its own sake, regardless of measurable or demonstrated benefits for various groups or purposes. Additionally, participation is recognized by UNICEF as integral to the democratic ethos and to building a civil societyThis project will consist of two training courses and a local stage between them. The first TC will explore the methodology of storytelling and the second one creation of comics During the “homework” stage, the participants will need to organize the workshop for target groups they work with and present the information about the project and storytelling We have chosen the art of comics and storytelling because it's popular, creative, and contemporary and because it's able to relate the imaginary (desires and aspirations) and tell the present (reality made of diversity), thus stimulating young people to reflect and to communicate their needs, visions, and potentials. Youngsters, and people in general, are greatly attracted by the powers of a good story. By understanding these methods better and exploring how they can use them in youth work, the participants of the LTTC will be able to address and connect with their target group much better, being also able to develop activities that are more successful and can ensure a lasting impact on their territories. Moreover, this approach can be used as offline as online, which is extremely relevant to our “new reality” After the LTTC, the youth workers will be able to work with their target group, using methods of storytelling and comics as “face-to-face” activities as online ones By the end of the project, participants will create their comics, which will be presented at the exhibition and then published and share on social media to raise awareness about the importance of youth participation and promote the results of the project.<< Implementation >>The LTTC is consists of three parts – TCs and homework (local stage). Both of TCs will take place in Ivancice, the Czech Republic and will include 7 working days and two travel days. The first TC will be a 7-day training course, aimed to increase the competences of youth workers in using storytelling as a tool to reach, motivate and inspire young people. The activity will address the need for further professional development of the youth workers and enhancement of the communication between young people and youth workers. It will offer storytelling as a way to overcome personal barriers and become storytellers. The second activity will be seven days training course, which is a continuation of the first part, but it will be focused on exploring the topic of comics as an effective and creative tool of youth work and a way to involve and activate young people at risk of social exclusion or segregation in the initiatives and training activities dedicated to them. After the first TC, participants will have the “Homework” stage, during which they will need to organize the workshop for target groups they work with and present the information about the project and storytelling itself Together with the participants of the workshop, they will need to create a story or stories addressing some social issues, using the competencies, which they had gained during the Activity 1 The story can be presented in different formats (written, video, photos and etc.) This story (s) the participants will bring to the Activity 2In each TC will participate, 28 youth leaders, youth workers dealing with young people, staff from NGOs, and educators from 12 countries ((The Czech Republic, Germany, Russia, Greece, Latvia, Cyprus, Ukraine, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Italy, and Hungary). We expect that the same participants will take part in all the activities. In some extraordinary cases (for example family or health issues), the substitute of participants in the activities could be made.<< Results >>The main learning outcomes of this project are developed competencies of youth workers in using storytelling and comics as a tool of youth work, especially with young people, who are coming from less privileged conditions and/or from contexts of social exclusion (immigrants, ethnic minorities, economical and geographical disadvantage) in order to empower the social, cultural and economic development of them. The main desired impact of the project is raising awareness on how to use these tools in education and youth work especially working with the topics of inclusion, participation, and human rights, to improve human rights education and development of competencies of an educator multiplication of the number of youth-led initiatives.Participation in this activity will have a direct impact on participants’ daily work with young people, as such mobility will develop youth workers’ competencies and influence the work they do. 1.Development of their knowledge skills and attitudes in storytelling and creation of comics will result in a more engaging learning process, which will allow the target groups to learn about important social issues in an interactive, enjoyable, and participative manner 2.It’ll impact on more qualitative approach towards young people from different minority groups, as participants will have the skills in creating comics in order to address issues of social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, human rights, etc. 3.It’ll impact the quality of work in partner organizations, as they will be able to use products created during the LTTC in their everyday practice.4.Youth workers themselves, by participating in this international LTTC, will develop their intercultural competence, as this experience will contribute to breaking stereotypes through direct contact and reconsidering personal patterns of thinking and behavior, which is extremely valuable for youth workers personal development. 5.Learning from good practices in partner organizations will inspire youth workers to initiate new projects for youth locally/ nationally and internationally 6.Another impact after this LTTC will be a better quality of educational activities organized by youth workers 7.After this intense LTTC period youth workers themselves will develop their competencies, get inspired and motivated for further work, as one of the strongest motivations for work comes from learning something new, exchange of experience with colleagues as well as creating new contacts space for which we are going to provide with this LTTC.The main desired impact of the project at the regional, national, European, and/or international levels is raising awareness on how to use storytelling and comics in youth work especially working with the topics of inclusion, participation, and human rights, getting indirect influence on the policy-making of government investments (on a European level) to improve human rights education and development of competences of a youth worker, multiplication of the number of youth-led initiatives. The expected impact of the outcomes on local communities from partner countries are: Increased quality, accessibility, and diversity of local/regional/ national, and international initiatives -Follow up projects that will be planned during the last day of the second activity -Sustainable international network of youth workers and trainers, dealing on the same issues and using visual thinking tools. -New projects based on storytelling or on creating comics as tools for youth work made also for young people with special needs, to apply under Erasmus + Programme in cooperation with promoters of this and other similar projects; -Usage of storytelling and comics for promoting human rights and inclusion, developing skills and attitudes that can be used for benefit of local communities, and will develop better communication and visibility;-Increased awareness of the different actions and opportunities of the Erasmus + Programme among youngsters and their communities. The project will have “tangible results” in the form of:-exhibition on the last day of Activity 2. In this exhibition, the participants will be presented with the comics, which they will create during the training course. The local community will be invited to attend the exhibition-the handbook “Let´s make a story”, which will be uploaded at SALTO toolbox"

We noticed that Europe citizens are very frustrated because of current changes & new wave of discrimination, hate & anger is starting in the continent again. Huge number of racist crimes in Europe has risen as well, especially hate crimes against Muslims following Paris attacks. There is an urgent need to reduce social tensions, to raise the level of tolerance, to promote the understanding & accepting each other despite the cultural & religious differences. Our aim is with the use of sport as development tool to foster solidarity and social inclusion. Idea of YE came up after the meeting of young people in one of the YE. The interest of future partners was shared and they expressed their willingness to participate in this activity which will tackle the issue of lack of tolerance and explore it through different kind of methods. We are combining every days active lifestyle with non-formal education methods in youth work. The specific objectives of this project: 1.To reach personal development which helps to understand ourselves and reflect on own behavior & behavior of others. 2.Challenge the perception of the structures within our society that undermine social inclusion or foster discrimination 3.Overcoming the stereotypes of different religious 4.To raise awareness on the topic of discrimination 5.To build a broader understanding of what an inclusive attitude means and to start inter cultural and inter- religious dialogue 6.To understand the connections between culture and sport and to understand the inter cultural aspects of sport 7.To raise the sense of empathy towards other people.Next to the general objectives we have the following goals: 1. To engage partners and participants therefore the project's continuation could be planned; 2. To involve local volunteers so they could be motivated to initiate similar initiatives by their own; 3. To encourage significant changes of the mindset in participants so they could bring changed to they communities; 4. To refine methods of education through sport; 5. To build a stronger partnership with organisations; As we will use sport for an educational purpose, it is essential to make good use of the mentioned above non-sport components. We will do it in a structured, reflective & a planned way. The context of non-formal education & its methodology provide this insight in planning learning process while using sport. This type of working requires many elements which go from using sport & physical exercise in order to provoke a strong lifelong learning outcome such as improving tolerance, solidarity or trust among nations. The importance here is to conduct a process where sport & hiking become tools for support to achieve the educational goals first. In this case the sport itself becomes secondary to the educational purpose.<< Activities >>The main activity will consist of the Youth Exchange in the Kakheti Region, Georgia from 2-13 August, 2019. The APV will be held in the Kakheti Region, Georgia from 8-10 July, 2019. We will be 8 partners(40participants in total)from Germany, Portugal, The Netherlands, Lithuania, Georgia, Russia, Armenia & Ukraine. Gender balanced group of young people, falling in age group of from 18 to 26 Years. During both activities we will focus on creating a community and with that leaving a special trace from each participant. To be more precise, the majority of the Georgian participants will have an IDP background and will be coming from deprived urban areas. In their specific social environment they face particular hardships in economic concerns, health service access in difficult and traditional structures dominate the social life, resulting in limited personal freedom if comparing their situation to their peers in the urban centers. The participants from the programme countries(Germany, Portugal, The Netherlands, Lithuania) will be composed of mixed groups of youth with fewer opportunities, refugees and migration background which makes their access to societal welfare more complicated and equal access to education and the labor market is not guaranteed. The reason for letting youth with fewer opportunities have priority of participation is to encourage them to be active and show that experience is available for everyone. With this we hope they will gain confidence and a wish to seek adventure. However, if it turns out that some candidates with none of specific qualities contact us, and they have a sincere interest in the project and other basic qualities, we will be adaptable, because we do believe that Youth Exchange projects should be open to everyone, and we believe in giving a chance to everyone.<< Impact >>Goals of our project are very related to objectives of the Erasmus+ which will be reached during the activities. We will focus strongly on the pedagogical dimension of outdoor used in a non-formal educational context to provoke a positive social change: the Exchange will be based on the principles and practice of non-formal education taking into account participants’ needs, motivations and experiences. A variety of methods will be used to allow the involvement of participants with different learning styles and to ensure a balance between theory and practice. We will use many useful manuals for Non- Formal Education. At the end of the YE, we will make a eye-catching video promoting inclusion which will be spread through social media in all over the Europe. The organisations represented at the activity are not only invited to be partners in near-future activities, but also to “spread the word” about the possibilities of the E+ programme in their local & organisational networks. The fact that 8 organisations from 8 different countries will be represented on the YE will multiply the impact on their respective local communities and target groups. They are asked to spread the results among their networks and partners. Each partner commits to continue the local activities with learning outcomes from the project. We do expect that young people will establish new partnerships and will develop concrete projects within Erasmus + programme, using conscious lifestyle as a core. We consider local transfer workshops as additional measures of dissemination and exploitation of results achieved during this project. In general, all the impact is very related either to the educational outcomes of the Activity or with dissemination of information about the E+ programme and the project in general."
