Urban food systems and ecosystems (UFSE) demand immediate action. CITIES2030 innovative approach have a great opportunity to attract the best researchers, entrepreneurs, civil society leaders, cities and all agents of the UFSE as well. The main goal of CITIES2030 is to create a future proof and effective UFSE via a connected structure centered in the citizen, built on trust, with partners encompassing the entire UFSE. CITIES2030 commit to work towards the transformation and restructuring of the way systems produce, transport and supply, recycle and reuse food in the 21st century. CITIES2030 vision is to connect short food supply chains, gathering cities and regions, consumers, strategic and complement industry partners, the civil society, promising start-ups and enterprises, innovators and visionary thinkers, leading universities and research across the vast diversity of disciplines addressing UFSE, including food science, social science and big data. CITIES2030 actively encourage the participation of citizens by delivering a trusted UFSE, moving consumers from being passive recipients to active engagement and motivated change agents. This objective is achieved via multiple tools delivered by CITIES2030 such as the CRFS Alliance, a community of practice supported by a digital platform, reaching all over Europe and beyond. This approach will enable policy developments, innovation actions within result-driven Labs, and enhancements on a pan-European scope with a global reach. Cities and regions will improve resilience and sustainability, and their leadership will create short food supply chain and ecosystems enabling local investments, trans-borders and transnational deployment. A blockchain-based data-driven UFSE management platform will secure intelligence and coordination actions by delivering an accurate, almost real-time digital twin of the whole supply chain, e.g. from production to waste management, but also on key enablers of resilience and sustainability.

Non-profit organization located in Marseille (France), Cité de l'agriculture participate to agroecological transition.This 12 months project put forward a job shadowing with the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona who is involved in innovative actions linked with agroecological transition, to train 17 Cité de l'agriculture's participants.These 4 days mobilities aims at strenghten skills of these actors, in domains such as enhancement, know-how transmission and methods to get a better involvment of stakeholder in projects.The working language will be french and put forward differents type of learning time : presentations by various kind of experts, job shadowing and workshops.The results of the action will be an improvement of skills of the participants. An other result will be the collective creation of a study report capitalising interviews from the participants and knowledge gathered during the training.

"ANALYSISBoth one of the causes of the climate change and one of the first victims of its effects, the contemporary city is at the epicentre of the ecological and climate crisis. The Covid19 crisis reveals in particular the fragility of our socio-economic structures and the excessive length of supply chains. The stakes of the relocation of our production (food and industrial) and of the Energy Descent arise now with new acuteness. How can we finally implement the ecological city? Over the past two decades or so, we have been observing the rise of a social dynamic that is changing the way we live in cities: urban agriculture. This transnational citizen dynamic (along with others, like metropolitan hiking) is now converging with the theoretical productions resulting from research (particularly in the fields of bioregionalism, """"agritecture"""" and ecological humanities). These practices and theories, which are mutually reinforcing, give us a good ground to design now with the citizens the ecological city.OBJECTIVES
In this historical situation, which seems mature, and which involves many social actors (citizens, decision-makers, researchers), the project intends to build affordable, cross-cutting, land-based educational tools to provide decision-makers with tools that will enable them to better support the emergence of the ecological city: 1) theoretical skills, 2) field methodologies and 3) a complete and coherent vision of ecological urban planning. The project aims to contribute to a new, ecological, city-making.TARGETSThe project targets 1) in the private sector: entrepreneurs (town planners, architects, landscape designers, ecologists, researchers, economists...) and not-for-profit managers (infields related to town planning, ecology, citizenship...), and 2) in the public action: elected officials and technicians from local authorities and agencies (and in priority to those related to town planning and ecology).CONTENTSThis educational project is based on a concept of ecological urbanism rooted in the land.Its singularity consists in articulating citizen dynamics with theoretical contents.
