A symbol of a collective future with great common environmental, technological, economic and social challenges. The contributions of bi-regional R+D+i are necessary to face these challenges, as well as it is necessary to ensure their continuity. Children and young people need to have a positive image of R+D+i, feel identified with it through inclusive and balanced gender referents and know the possibilities of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) and research careers. Society also needs critical citizens without extreme positions not based on evidence that can weaken civic awareness and trust in democratic institutions. The main objective of Science Goes To School (SCIENCE GTS) is to implement a robust program of activities that brings research closer to society and vice versa. For this, it will use multiple informative formats (talks, workshops, shows, contests ...) and methodological resources (entertainment, humour, surprise ...). The topics covered will be both the great challenges posed by the Horizon Program, the Sustainable Development Goals and the European Green Deal, as well as the science of daily life. SCIENCE GTS contemplates two major actions: Researchers at Schools (RaS) and European Researchers' Night (ERN). RaS encourages the interaction of researchers and students, emphasizing the stimulation of scientific vocations, gender equality and inclusiveness. ERN makes researchers and general public interact, focusing on critical thinking, scientific culture and citizen science. A realistic awareness campaign will be used to secure the audience and a solvent assessment to measure the outreaches and impacts. The project is managed and coordinated by a neutral partner, who pursues the creation of a collaborative infrastructure between project partners and stakeholders that avoids duplication of effort.

The first activity consists of twelve main Events on the 26th September 2014 and 25th September 2015, organised by five universities, 3 public foundations, one scientific association, one autonomic government and a scientific installation around Spain as well as a Science Museum. A second activity consists on a Drawing Competition, which will be performed before and after the both events. Also special emphasis will be done on the 2.0 tools, using games and videos edited in the previous edition of European Researchers’ Night (ERN). These tools, together with the Drawing Competition, will be used to disseminate Friday Event Activities. The main objective of the project is to enhance the recognition of researchers and their role in society, showing that Researchers are among us. In general, all around the world the economic crisis causes an important decrease of budget for research and Researchers. This fact is particularly hard in Spain, where the decrease is about 40% in the past three year. Important economic cuts do not help to improve the image of Science and Scientist; on the other hand, they make people think that one can do with no Research and Researchers. It is necessary to show the society that With No Researchers there is No Future. For this purpose, Researcher will be participating in Researcher’ Night activities to show the importance of Scientists in the current economic context. On the other hand, the Communicative facet of researchers together with some hands-on experiments will be used to bring them closer to the large public enhancing public recognition of Researchers and their Work, as well as convincing young people to embark on scientific careers. It is important also to settle down between Researchers that non-communicated Research is no Research.

Mediterranean Researchers' Night - MEDNIGHT objective is to generate a Mediterranean unity, providing awareness about common problems, reinforcing researchers’ commitment, progress, and achievements and putting science and scientists at the cornerstone of our future and a relevant matter for women, men, children and youngsters. MEDNIGHT shows the attractiveness and importance of the researchers’ work and professions to the general public, carrying out a series of activities framed under the common umbrella of what we have come to call “Mediterranean Science” placing particular emphasis on female researchers showing how R&D is a source of progress and well-being for our daily life. It is also aimed at showing the diversity of careers and existing options and the different skills acquired, overcoming prejudices and assumptions and demonstrating the open character of our scientific research. Mediterranean Science relates to research developed in the our territories but also the countless collaborations with other EU researchers. Mediterranean Science is focused on Mediterranean relevant topics according to our culture, way of life or current challenges: Geology and biodiversity, Sea and pollution, Climate and clean energies, Diet and nutrition, Life and health, Anthropology and History, Pioneer women scientists, and our Future. Many online and face-to-face diverse activities are organised by MEDNIGHT consortium in Cartagena, Murcia, Orihuela, Alicante, Valencia, Castellón, Messina, Crete, Limnos, Nicosia, Malta, Ítaca, Ibiza, Mallorca, Elche, Altea, Torrevieja, Alzira, Bunyol, Cagliari, Palermo, Catania, Nuoro, Torino, Pavia, Trieste, Perugia, Ancona, Macerata and l’Aquila.
