The project will bring contribution in making well-balanced, healthy and responsible aging process focusing on intercultural and intergenerational cooperation and education.Partners will follow the title of the projects and will create materials for positive emotional life and active aging. Partners already decided that will start from the sharing talents and hobbies of adult learners with the aim to inspire creation of educational materials. Being inspired by others’ talents makes people realize what we’re good at, too. Reaching out and seeing talent in others opens up opportunities and connections while helping define own talent. Project will have focus on inclusion of seniors in social life. As final beneficiaries, they will be involved in local and dissemination activities and will help in testing project materials. Both target groups - educators and adult learners - will be diverse in sense of age, gender, education, social and cultural backgrounds. By this project partners will support inclusion and diversity in education and training. Partners decided that trained educators will be strong support for adult learners, particularly seniors who spent a lot of time in lockdown alone because of COVID-19. Many elderly people suffered not only from loneless and social isolation but also stress and depression. The negative physical, psychological, and social effects are evident. Swift resovery and inclusion of seniors in adult education are important now more than even before. ""Inclusion and Diversity"" are first priority of the Programme. Partners analysed publications about COVID-19 influence and agreed that there is need for action to increase access to technology and implement digital literacy programs in elderly populations. It is absolutely necessary, especially going forward into an increasingly digital future. ""The elderly population has been hit with some of the worst effects of the pandemic, with harsher lockdown measures, and increased risks of mental and physical health problems, and the digital divide has seen that the effects of these measures have not been minimized. There is a definite need for action, both in the short and long-term to minimize the negative effects the digital divide has during this pandemic"" (https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2020.577427/full).World Health Organisation wrote that it is important to create opportunities to foster healthy ageing during the pandemic. Materials with different advices are published on its website https://www.who.int/teams/social-determinants-of-health/demographic-change-and-healthy-ageing/covid-19 and also in social media. Age is clearly the most important factor in predicting the odds of surviving the COVID-19 disease. This is among the most robust consensus among scientists (https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0235590).Partners shared information from their countries and agreed that staying inside, some older people have lost confidence in completing day-to-day activities which were previously completely normal and routine for them. They felt less able to do the things they used to enjoy and had become increasingly dependent on support from others. While young people have moved own lives online, elderly people over the age of 65 who have never used the Internet and as such are unable to online chat with friends or family. Partners told about cases when older people spent days without speaking to anyone and were left feeling unloved, unwanted, and forgotten. There is need of digital education for seniors but it should be complimentary to empowerment activities which motivate to be active and have positive emotional life.<< Objectives >>Project partners from Lithuanina, Estonia, France, Italy and Spain analysed Erasmus+ Programme Guide and agreed that the general objective of the Programme ""to support, through lifelong learning, the educational, professional and personal development of people in education, training"" will be the general objective of this project. The specific objectives are:* to improve competences of adult educators;* to create and develop efficient teaching and training materials for educators;* to exchange of good practices and experiences between project partners' organisations;* to develop talents and train creative skills of adult learners with focus on seniors;* to support inclusion of seniors to adult education;* to improve the availability of high-quality learning opportunities for adults;* to improve the capacities of organisations active in the fields of adult education and training;* to contribute to the awareness about the cultural diversity in Europe.<< Implementation >>Project activities will include: • three transnational meetings for project management and exchange of good practices; • creating learning materials for Teaching and training manual and Web-app; • local meetings and activities for testing project results;• two international training courses for staff members; • monitoring and evaluation process; • dissemination of project information and results; • multiplier events in all project partners' countries;• final webinar as virtual component of the project.Work with on the Teaching and training manual and Web-app and also training courses will support developing of educators' new competences. Than they will teach and train adult learners on local level. Workshops and training will support to improve digital skills, talents and creativity because partners will involve to the project people, mostly seniors, with different cultural and social backgrounds. Partners will have in focus inclusion of seniors in the project activities from one side and from other side learn how to attract young people to be part of intergenerational education. Such approach will enrich participants of this project and make it attractive for educators, learners and general public. Partners will upload video and photos about training and other activities on the project Facebook and YouTube that highlight the potency of combining verbal and visual methods in adult education. These materials will be not only about main project topics but also about people, countries and their cultures. Moreover, there will be attractive dissemination activities for all involved in the project, associated partners, other stakeholders and wider audience. Project partners will raise awareness about Europe 2020 strategy and Erasmus+ Programme. The desired impact of the project will go beyond its lifetime and beyond this project partners organisations towards adult educators, adult learners, different stakeholders and wider general audience.<< Results >>Partners will create new educational materials to support educators in their teaching and training process taking into account specifity of the current post-pandemic situation. Partners will created project Teaching and training manual and Web-app. They will be the main tangible project results. New created materials will be a valuable resource for additional education and training in partners and other organisations in adult education and also in other fields of education and training.Manual will consist of good practices and pedagogical materials. There will be chapter for building positive attitude to life, including materials about skills-oriented hobbies - knitting, glass, clay, ceramic, metal and wood works, floristry, ethnic ornaments, chapter about music, songs, dances, art and chapter about different collections. The idea is to share what partners have in own countries, to learn about creativity and cultural diversity in Europe and to transfer ideas and hobbies from one country to other. There will be samples of efficient pedagogical methods for adult education and training, about soft skills and recommendations how to work with seniors.Web-app will be programmed through website functionalities, but works as an app by providing educational materials, psychological tests and interactive content. A software H5P will be used. The interactive content will show scenarios in video, create decisional algorithm and than the user can exposed to problems to be solved. There will be also video and photos about the local and international activities, promotional materials (project logo, leaflet, press realise, information for social media, Facebook page, etc). The important result of this project will be development and improvement of adult educators' competences and creation of new learning opportunities for adult learners - seniors and other people with fewer opportunities. Partners agreed that will involve to the project activities diverse groups of people bridging intercultural, intergenerational and social divide, including the age based digital divide. Creating an environment of inclusive learning and using friendly and relaxing atmosphere will help in the acquisition of competences of adult learners and particularly elderly groups of people. Educators will have training during the project in the field of adult education and as a result, they will be able to use the learning approach in all potentials to strengthen the self-protective competencies. There will be intangible results and outcomes: - new experience of staff members and educators at European level; - intercultural competences for the staff and learners; - acquisition of new ICT skills;- acquisition of new communication, foreign languages and other skills; - long life learning network of partners and other stakeholders involved to the project at local, national and European level; - increased EU project management competencies.Project results will be based on digitalisation of adult education and inproving creativity and talents. Open and innovative education will address this need to develop ICT skills of educators, trainers and other members of educational staff, so they will be able to educate their learners and also exploit the maximum benefits of ICT development, online courses, open and innovative pedagogies. This will support the availability of high-quality learning opportunities for adults.Partners will establish efficient collaboration between different educational institutions on local, national, regional, European and international level and increase the quality of education and training. This will give the opportunity to create an interactive network of educators specialized in the project topics and this will be also one of the important results of this project."

Although it is a global phenomenon, it is particularly pronounced in European countries. According to Eurostat, (August, 2020) there are more than 90 million people aged 65 and over living in the EU-27, which is more than 20% of the total population. Moreover, according to a report by the Council of Europe Development Bank in January 2014, the proportion of people aged 65 and over is expected to reach 29% of the total population in the coming years, to represent some 150 million individuals. Another important feature is the rapid increase in the proportion of the ""elderly"" (80 years and older), expected to almost triple from 4% to 11% of the population, representing some 64 million individuals. As life expectancy increases and treatments for life-threatening disease become more effective, the issue of maintaining wellbeing at advanced ages is growing in importance, and not only from a physical point of view, but also mental and emotional. For some, growing older is a positive experience. However, there are also critical issues during this phase of life. Ageing can have a significant impact on the mental health. It is often associated with loss of status and loss of organisation of daily activities associated with working life, as well as the perception of a markedly reduced role in life, with few social relationships. Older people often suffer from the gradual loss of close friends, family and partners, deterioration of functional ability, sense of purpose in life and poverty. Fear of losing their independence is also common in this age group. In general, older people in Europe feel less content with their lives than younger people, with greater differences in feelings of life satisfaction and happiness between the age groups. Depression or anxiety, which are the most common mental disorders, are very often found in old age, with depression affecting 10-15% of people over 75. (Eurostat, July 2020)Moreover, in addition to the profound and immediate impact on quality of life, depression in older people is a risk factor for functional dysfunction and may portend premature death. Older people with depression are two to three times more likely to have two or more chronic diseases, and two to six times more likely to have at least one limitation in their activities of daily living compared to younger age groups. Depression in older people also increases the frequency and cost of professional help and the risk of premature admission to a nursing home.Psychological wellbeing may even be a protective factor in health, reducing the risk of chronic physical illness and promoting longevity. Good physical health is associated with good mental health. Poor physical health is associated with poor mental health. Older people talk about health in a holistic way, combining both mental and physical aspects. In this sense, Emotional Intelligence is one of the strengths that in balance make up a valuable and confident person, both on a personal level and in relation to the people around them. EI has been defined as the ability of an individual to identify, understand and manage the emotional content of their interactions and experiences (Goleman, 1995).Reaching an emotionally healthy old age, knowing how to appreciate the present, adjusting to each moment, adapting to the environment and of course developing a relaxed and optimistic approach is synonymous with active and successful ageing. And this is where EmoSeniors can be beneficial and necessary for seniors and also for caregivers (target groups in our project), as it will help them to cope with the new stage they are facing as well as the changes. To this end, emotional management must be a priority for the elderly and is necessary in order to enable them in dimensions such as empathy, emotional regulation or social skills, favouring in a remarkable way the ageing process itself<< Objectives >>The vision of our project is to have a positive impact on the lives of the target group and to positively improve their situation and integration into society and, ultimately, their quality of life. The final purposes of this project are to: a) Foster the development of EI at a time of senescence to improve the quality of life in their final stage.b) improve skills as a caregiver by promoting transversal EQ skills to better both their quality of life and that of the person being cared for. MAIN GOAL: to support older people to mitigate the negative impacts on their physical and mental health from social isolationEmoSeniors pursues the following objectives with CAREGIVERS (MAIN TARGET GROUP), but also with SENIORS who will be the FINAL BENEFICIARIES of the project:- Develop emotional skills to overcome social obstacles, such as isolation and loneliness.- Regulate their emotional states to improve their psychological and physical well-being. - Improve an individual's perception of the ageing process and how older people can adapt to changing circumstances.SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:- Make seniors able to socialize and improve emotional functioning- Make seniors able to face aging with optimism to adapt to the changes generated and help them to accept old age as a stage of adaptive adjustment, rather than a phase of mere psychophysical decline.- Make seniors understand how emotions work, how they can manage them better, and teach them to recognize other people’s needs.- Help seniors to understand the importance of EI to improve their mental and physical health.- Reduce the occurrence and duration of the negative emotions that appear as a consequence of stressful situations.- Help seniors and caregivers to overcome difficult situations and emerge stronger from them.- Enhance individual perception of the aging process and how the elderly may adapt to changing circumstances.- To provide caregivers with training content that will help them improve their quality of life and relationships with the people they care for.- Motivate carers and increase their level of satisfaction with their care because of their ability to manage their relationships and self-esteem in an emotionally intelligent way.- Benefit the whole of society by maintaining older people’s social and economic contributions, minimising the costs of care and improving quality of life.- Create a training system with tools- Disseminate the results of this training to other institutions that could benefit this output<< Implementation >>Project is divided into 2 types of work packages:1.
