Competence development ensured in many ways - 1 residential courses based on the Five Element coaching tools and martial art for well being are meant to serve and develop social- cognitive (ETS) and beyond that, a set of well being-skills essential to tackle and prevent burn out. By which our target groups are addressed due to their high stress youth and social work or due to the covid pandemic. Aims are to support a) recognition of well being development reached at an individual and professional level thus building a positive self-confidence of youth workers and their young target groups; and b) recognition and visibility of positive influences of resilience within non-formal learning and youth work context in general. These youth workers are often not recognized in many ways: importance of their work, salary,- fluctuation rate is high. They can immediately start the new tools in their private/work life that will uplift their mental/physical health and wellbeing in general. They also benefit in using new ways of non-formal learning such as online/blended learning. We not only focus youth workers but on their organizations as well – we aim to raise awareness of healthy work styles for their working communities as well.Project was born during the dissemination/multiplicator events of HEART KA2 (2018-2021) and SOURCE conference that is to increase the quality of adult education and training by developing helping professionals’ competences, linked to work engagement using a new blended training method “HEART” https://elmenyakademia.hu/en/projects/heart-en/.The theme of resilience got many positive feedback in the harvesting and dissemination events of the project, thus we decided to continue with various tools to tackle the same phenomena ‘well-being’ with different methods, which can have a high impact on both youth workers' and their organizations' healthy work habits.<< Implementation >>Your Natural Element training flow is a blended learning event. The group contained 30 participants from 8 countries and partner organisations, 3 trainers and 3 support staff members. There was a very diverse group, coming from many different backgrounds, working with different target groups. They were mostly youth workers, youth leaders, volunteers of youth associations, coaches, freelancers, trainers. Main working methods were: creative recycling workshops, improvisational theatre sessions, team buildings, reflection time, short lectures, outdoor elements, art therapy, body movement, coaching and mentoring, sharings with the whole group, creative event organized by the participants. In the end of the training course the group of participants organized and realized a creative open event in Budapest which contained improve theatre games, presentation of recycling techniques and songs played on recycled musical instruments. Our aim was to share innovative methods in youth work with youth workers, who can then use the methods with their target groups, and to foster social entrepreneurship. Due to the variety of the activities and the training program design the understanding and implementation of the 2 main methods happened already in the training course, so participants used the methods back home with more confidence: all of them adapted the methods to their circumstances and environment and therefore the dissemination of project results was impressive. Participants of the training not only benefited themselves from what they learned but they regularly organize workshops, coaching sessions, organizational development meetings with the methods what they learned. 7 people from the group expressed that they are going to develop projects under the Erasmus+ programme due to this training.

However, burnout continues to be a severe issue until today. According to our experience drawn from previous projects and activities with educators, and based on desk research, educators continue to have insufficient knowledge and awareness of the burnout syndrome and its potential prevention techniques, especially about those that can also be used within an organizational setting. However, timely interventions are essential to prevent burnout, otherwise, its later stages would involve physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion from which it is difficult to recover (Schaufeli and Greenglass 2011). At the same time, educators’ organizations and their managers also lack awareness, knowledge, and prevention/intervention strategies and practices. To tackle the above issues, a transnational partnership composed of 6 partners (PPs) concerned about burnout and work engagement in the field of education of 5 countries developed the HEART project. Two PPs are experts in adult education using outdoor experiential educational methods (Elmenyakademia (HUN) - who is the coordinator organization- and Outward Bound Romania (RO)), two PPs are adult education experts using artistic methodologies (Alive Arts (UK) using the ARC Process and Citta del Sole (IT) using the Integrated Method Marchio-Patti), Centro em Movimento (PT) carries out courses for adults focusing on Art and Lelekkel az Egeszsegert (HUN) has waste cross-sectorial practical, theoretical and research expertise in the topic of burnout prevention. To reach our objectives, the HEART partnership uses a methodology based on a transnational, holistic, and positive approach and the synergy of outdoor experiential education and artistic methods, focusing on the work engagement of our main target groups: the educators and their organizations Europe-wide. To achieve our goals, we developed a Collection of Easy to Learn and Use Work Engagement Tools and Processes (including a Self-directed learning portfolio) and an innovative Combined Modular Work Engagement Curricula - Training Scheme to offer innovative educational material at the individual (personal and professional) level. These two outputs are based on an innovative methodology, the HEART methodology (the synergy of outdoor experiential education and artistic methodologies) covering the whole human potential addressing all: body, soul, and mind. In addition, we developed the Organizational Work Engagement Recommendations that offer managers alternatives at organizational. Moreover, the impact of the methodology will be summarized in an Assessment Report.During HEART activities 3 field experiments, 5 field tests, 1 discussion workshop, and 2 multiplicator events were held for HEART staff/volunteers and external stakeholders. Thanks to the implemented project activities, we directly reached 391 persons active in the field of education and we increased their competencies to face burnout, thus, their work engagement, professional satisfaction, the quality of their work, and their employability increased. 6 organizations developed a more modern, dynamic, committed and professional work environment with increased consciousness in strategic planning of professional development of staff in line with individual needs and organizational objectives. Moreover, we shared and disseminated our results at a European level as well. We introduced our outputs and results in 10 additional countries (Ireland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Slovakia, Latvia, Croatia, Poland, Danish, Venezuela). The organization-specific strategies and the more general recommendations frame the work on the organizational level. This, plus the holistic approach used, covering the development needs at individual and organizational levels, was also expected to enhance the impact and sustainability of project results.
