"<< Objectives >>Our project “Tous européens ! / Tutti europei ! aims to allow 16 young French and Italians to live an experience that will allow them to achieve the following objectives:- Promote through times of activity and exchange, the intercultural encounter between young Europeans beyond their differences and any social obstacles that are theirs.- Develop essential life skills in these young people: autonomy, open-mindedness, self-confidence, etc.- Allow young people with fewer opportunities to have a first experience of mobility and reception.- Sensitize young people to sustainable development and environmental protection.- Develop their use of digital tools, particularly in the field of communication. And at the same time, develop skills in methodology and management of European projects for the association Jeunesse et Avenir.<< Implementation >>A total of 16 young Europeans aged 13 to 17 will take part in this European project. The young French people who will take part in this exchange are recognized as having a disability due to psychological disorders which often lead them to be rejected or even excluded. Gradually out of step with their peers, this stirs up in them a pain of feeling different. More broadly, they often do not benefit from the same opportunities as young people their age.The young Italians evolve for their part in an environment considered as ""ordinary"". For them, this experience will therefore be an opportunity, beyond the discovery of France and its culture, to discover young people who do not live the same realities as them.Beyond cultural differences, these 2 groups of young people will therefore be led to understand broader differences (social, mental health, etc.). The guides will be there to provide the keys to understanding necessary to understand these differences and to realize that the foreigner is not so strange and that what brings us together is stronger than what sets us apart. The materials offered will include:In Italy :- Workshops: small games that allow you to get to know each other, to share some basics in French and Italian, etc.- Introduction to the project, expectations and fears, …- Rally in the city of Bologna- Bike tourIn France :- Sport: Rugby day with the intervention of players from the Saint-Nazaire club, Raid by bike on the wild coast- Environment: Beach cleaning then Land Art activity with the waste collected- Visits: Discovery of the salt marshes and meeting with a salt worker, city of Nantes, city of Saint-Nazaire- Industrial sector: Visit to Atlantic shipyards, Airbus, EOL<< Results >>Expectations are mainly related to social skills, interpersonal skills, confidence and self-esteem, openness to the world and to other cultures.During times of discussion and workshops, young people will be able to discuss their dreams, their hopes, the difficulties they encounter, and make proposals to be more listened to and recognized where they live.European citizenship will be approached by situating the two partner countries in the global environment of Europe, which will become more concrete through the experience of travel, the confrontation with another language, etc.United in diversity: The motto of Europe will be the one that will guide this European mobility. The main objective of the meeting will be to allow each young person to become aware that even if we are different, we share many points of reference. And to realize that differences enrich us much more than they divide us!Particular emphasis will be placed on activities related to the environment, culture, arts and sport. But this project will also support (upstream and downstream) more academic learning (languages, maths, geography, etc.).It is also a global project that will seek to have an impact on the entire environment of young people. The young French and Italian participants will be ambassadors of the European experience upon their return. They will have the responsibility of passing on to those who have not come what they have experienced, learned, etc. They will have a role of facilitator: to make other young people want to live this type of experience, show parents that they are capable of enrolling in European mobility. This exchange will be the first that we carry out within the framework of ERASMUS but our ambition is that this experience becomes a strong axis of our development. Thus, we hope that these young participants will be the pioneers of an approach of openness to Europe which will still benefit them as well as the young people who will succeed them. We also hope to extend it to our professionals in a process of enrichment and openness to new practices, including inclusive ones."

Project context and Project aims:This project mainly focussed on the expansion of internationalisation of vocational training. Since the year 2000 Hansa Berufskolleg Unna has offered European internships supported by the European Union. In 2011 our school received the award of 'School of Europe' by the government of North Rhine Westphalia. The overall idea of Europe has been implemented in our school's programme. In 2016 we were repeatedly awarded, which gives proof of our longstanding educational work with regard to Europe. In Novemer 2018 we achieved the certificate of 'International Mobility' by the County Administration of Arnsberg for having sent 10% of all trainees abroad (see newspaper article attached).Number/Profile of participants/description of activities:58 participants could successfully fulfill work placements in Ireland, England, Belgium, Poland, Turkey and Spain. Among this group, 15 trainees of industry served a three-month-lasting part of their traineeship in Cork, Ireland. We are very proud to learn that the majority of these Trainees voluntarily faced the additional exam as foreign language correspondent in English at the Chamber of commerce in Dortmund. Apart from trainees in industry, a large number of new apprentices from wholesale, IT and Office Management could be won in 2018. Their sending companies (KIK, Woolworth, OTC Pharma,...) are actively represented on the European market and highly value the expansion of intercultural and business experience.DHL is an important local partner with reference to vocational trainings and offers a huge number of trainees in logistics and warehousing the possibility of going abroad with ERASMUS. Especially with regard to organising the final EUROPASS ceremonies, DHL has often served as host and which has strengthened the links between our school and local businesses. The professional background of our participants was not only limited to business, but extended on to trainees of the Health Service that carried out work placements in a Turkish hospital in Manavgat. Especially the German patients are very relieved to have German speaking staff, who gained unique medical and administrative experience. For all mobilities it is of utmost importance to offer work placements whose challenges clearly refer to the daily activities required in the German training companies. IT-trainees mainly faced tasks in EDP, whereas trainees of the wholesale and office management dealt with business-related activities. This is done to ensure that our young people can transfer and expand their professional knowledge. Thanks to the longstanding relationships to our European partners as well as tight agreements within our Europe team staff, the large majority of participants were more than satisfied. Results and effects:As in the years before, the stays abroad immensely broadened the intercultural, professional and personal horizons of our trainees. The new partner in Logrono/Spain was evaluated very positively by our two participants - one of them, a trainee of logistics successfully finished his traineeship and has lately started his new job at his Spanish host company in July 2019!The students that went to England reported how fast they could brush up their English being accommodated in host families. The trainees of Belgium and Poland were again strongly impressed by the different types of food and the hearty welcome. We were quite proud that our Belgish Twin School also sent 4 trainees to Unna to carry out work placements financed by ERASMUS. Longterm effects:The links between the local and European companies, our County Unna and our school could be hugely strengthened. Furthermore the networking activities between local Europe Schools has largely increased (see attached newspaper article on Network cooperation).

The project aims to respond to two of the main challenges faced by modern societies: 1) The rapid obsolescence of all technical and scientific knowledge which makes it difficult to teach sciences at school even if sciences are a key factor for the understanding of climate change and for the sustainable economic development 2) The processes of social exclusion related to early school leaving. Early school leaving is often related to segregation in schools (2013, Eurydice Report) Special Edcational Needs often suffer from segregation in schools even if all European countries have ratified the UNESCO Salamanca Statement and Framework for Action in Special Needs Education (1994). One extract from the statement is used repeatedly as a guiding principle in policy level debates: Regular schools with an inclusive orientation are the most effective means of combating discriminatory attitudes, building an inclusive society and achieving education for allNevertheless an effective inclusion of SEN students in schools is far from being fully achieved Inclusion of SEN and science teaching present similar criticisms- The persisting difficulty in developing innovative inclusive practices useful to develop scientific thinking- Inadequate use of ICT, which is an extraordinary means for fostering SEN students’ communication and the development of self-help groups , but it is also an extraordinary means to develop science teaching-Lack of connection between what students learn at school and the skills needed for managing their own lives, interacting effectively in heterogeneous groups and tackling complex global problems such climate changes objectives To enhance and disseminate innovative teaching methods such as flipped classroom and spaced learning associated with hands on activities in order to foster effective inclusion and science thinking . The prior objective is to reduce the school dropout rateTo promote scientific and technological excellence in Europe for a sustainable and inclusive growth of society , engaging students in scientific activities which pursue the objectives stated in the Covenant of Mayors To develop a multilingual platform where teachers can share best practices, exchange science lessons and have support for a more successful approach to teach sciences and to special educational needs To strengthen cooperation between partners and international experts on the project issues in order to improve learning sciences in schools and support professional developmentTo create innovative lessons in international groups of teachersParticipantsParticipants are research organizations Adi- Italian Teachers' Association, Italian, Polish and Turkish technical and vocational schools , public institutions involved in the Convenant of mayors ( Bologna City Hall and Gdynia City Hall), Gdansk and Rome UniversitiesThe project is addressed to teachers educators and researchers Activities Development of an on-line multilingual platform and repository for relevant legislation on Special Educational Needs, guidelines and best practises for highly inclusive teaching strategies to develop scientific culture in schools and science lesson plans Development of innovative inclusive lessons based on flipped and spaced techinques combined with hands on activitiesOrganization of :one preparatory meeting three Joint staff training events combined with exchange of students , each of 7 days, to test and evaluate the lessons created by teachers in mixed international groups, to test the platform, verify its effectiveness and develop future plans to continue flipped and spaced trialsA seminar devoted to disseminating and sharing the use of the platform The platform will be implemented through a constant collaboration between partners, through the exchange of ideas and teaching materials , using forums, dedicated social networks, e-mails , skype conferences.
