<< Objectives >>The internet is mainly used for communication, work, research, university, leisure time – for basically all spheres of life. Social media channels such as Facebook and Instagram play a crucial role in the life of youngsters. Sharing personal information, documents, photos and locations are an integral part of the life of many young people. The younger generation can be described as digital natives. And although they are familiar with new technologies, they can also become victims very fast. Online tools and services offer great opportunities for personal and professional life and development, but they can involve many threats and can endanger the well-being of young people in different ways. Examples are: cyber-bullying, hate speech, loss of personal data and privacy rights, data theft, exposure to fake news, etc.Because of these reasons we believe that it is important to increase the level of media literacy of youngsters by informing them about the way of using digital media and to reach out to youngsters with means of digital youth work. Media literate young people are better able to understand the complex messages received from various media (television, Internet, magazine, books), are able to analyze these messages and adequately respond by using media to attack a person or a group. Moreover, there is direct link between media literacy and ability to identify hate speech, discrimination and racism in media messages. At the end of youth exchange the participants will focus on brainstorming ideas for future projects that could be realized under Erasmus + Programme / European Solidarity Corps or at local level. Each part of youth exchange will be based on non-formal learning approach and different kinds of tools, methods and techniques will be in use, for example, discussions, group and individual challenges, simulations, thematic workshops, interactive presentations and methods supporting interaction between the participants, exchange information and ideas. Reflection activities on individual learning processes of the participants as well as feedback on project activities will be held regularly throughout the whole youth exchange. Group leaders will meet with the participants regularly to support their learning process. Background of the participants in youth exchange:- to develop their media literacy competences (to able to analyze, to create and to evaluate media messages);- to explore the connection between media literacy and addressing hate speech, discrimination and negative stereotypes; - to learn about realities in participating countries; - to work together with young people from different countries and cultures;- to be open to exchange ideas and opinions in safe and supportive environment;- to learn more about Erasmus+ Programme and ESC;- to share experiences through visibility and dissemination activities.- young people in age of 18 to 25, part of the participants can be in age 26 to 30 but primarily the youth exchange target people under 26- with communicative level of English / in case can't understand very well translations will be provided by group leaders- motivated to learn about the topic, to transfer lessons learned in their communities and to their peers << Impact >>Impact on young participants: The participants will get to know new competencies especially in the areas media literacy, analyzing, evaluating and creating media content, addressing hate speech, discrimination and negative stereotypes and Erasmus+ Programme - European Solidarity Corps. "At a worldwide level, our lifestyles and ways of consumption often appear to be unconcious : over-consumption, waste of resources, individualism, hierarchy within human relations, ecological disasters... At the same time, more and more people -youth included- are willing to take part to a change but are lacking of methods to get into action. We want to gather international youth workers to take part to solving those issues and spreading and sharing concrete tools that youth leaders could use to plan more responsible lifestyles regarding environment and human relations. That's why we want to organise a training course / good practices seminar ""Practical Ecology III"". This project will take place in Bédeille (South of France), from 3th to 15th October 2017. By gathering youth workers from the European Union, this project would allow the partner countries' youth to get concrete tools useful for their personnal and professionnal life. It would head the participants and the youngsters they work with towards more ecological and respectful practices. A booklet, made by the participants and Solafrika during the TC, will be spread and used by international youth workers and citizens. Name: Act for inclusion Dates: From 9 to 16 March 2018 Location: Braga Participants: 30 participants between the ages of 18 and 30. Participants were selected with special interest in projects of social inclusion and sensitive to the theme of disability. Participants also had the capacity for improvisation and creativity that are essential for the achievement of performative activity. For this project we look for young people who are autonomous, dynamic and capable of creating empathy with ease. Context / Background: About 80 million people in the European Union, one-sixth of the population, are disabled. People with disabilities are more exposed to poverty than other European citizens, they have fewer opportunities not only in the labor market, but also in access to key services such as essential education, the transport network and housing . They are often prevented from enjoying full social and economic participation due to barriers related to attitudes and their social context where they are inserted. Within the conjecture presented, there is an urgent need to raise awareness of discrimination based on disability. Objectives: To qualify for inclusion, demystifying prejudices and stereotypes associated with disability; Reflect on the principle of equality and non-discrimination of persons with disabilities in today's society; Contribute to an inclusive society through the development of pedagogical actions in the community, fostering the acceptance of differences in disability; Methodology: This inclusive project was based on an experiential pedagogy, through interaction and active participation of the users of the Novais and Sousa Center, an institution in the county of Braga dedicated to support the population of the county with mental disabilities, whose involvement of users and technicians of the institution assumes a preponderant role for the development of the project. The participants had the opportunity in small groups to reflect on the previous knowledge and to develop new concepts on the subject where with the accompaniment of specialized technicians using non-formal education methodologies. Issues related to inclusion were explored: employment and the labor market, access to public services, access to education, culture and mobility. Using an experiential methodology, all the participants had the opportunity to experience the place of the disabled person, through a set of exercises of simulation of physical limitations of conditioned mobility and communication. They were also invited to prepare interventions, artistic performances to sensitize the community to the issue of disability and replicate the project in their organizations and communities of origin.Impacts / Outcomes / expected benefits: This project has a great impact on the participants due to the themes that have been addressed. The social inclusion that has been worked on in the various workshops, activities and the sharing of experiences is a tool that they can use in their personal, social and professional life, which can also influence the work of the organizations where they are inserted. Organizations will be able, through the work of the young participants, to create activities in the area of social inclusion through the arts, or even replicate this project in their countries of origin. The partner organizations were encouraged to use the project management program, a tool that will be very useful to them in the implementation and management of their own projects, as well as to enhance the quality of implementation and management of this project, to support the development of partner organizations through the transfer and implementation of innovative tools and practices. In addition, through this joint initiative, we promote networking and cooperation between partner organizations of this project and others, fostering peer learning and the exchange of experiences and best practices at European level, promoting their capacity to bring about change in international opening.
