<< Objectives >>What's Cooking stimulates entrepreneurial learning to youngsters with fewer opportunities, coming from rural areas, focussed on communication and cooperation in which cooking is used as a tool. The objectives of What's Cooking are:-- To bring 9 disadvantaged youngsters aged 15 - 21 and 9 youth leaders together in an APV in order to prepare the youth exchange and all its aspects- To bring 36 disadvantaged youngsters aged 15 - 21 and 9 youth leaders together in an exchange and exchange best practices regarding local entrepreneurship and to stimulate entrepreneurial learning.- To make youngsters realize their potentials in taking initiative and increasing their autonomy- To let youngsters exchange current entrepreneurial advantages and disadvantages regarding the food industry in the participating rural areas- To let the youngsters create and disseminate several products in order to spread the project results and outcomes, this includes videos regarding local food products, a pop-up restaurant, articles, social media updates and on the websites of the partners.<< Activities >>The What's Cooking project consists of two activities: one APV and one youth exchange for 45 persons coming from Italy, Lithuania, Macedonia, Greece, Bulgaria, Slovenia, France, Portugal and Netherlands.Dates APV: 14 + 15 May 2021Dates exchange: 4 - 16 July 2021Location: Olde Vechte group accommodation, Ommen, The NetherlandsThe basic element of the activities are togetherness, living, working and doing everything together in an international group. This connects with entrepreneurial learning, we believe that you can only learn entrepreneurship by doing and practicing it, therefore we will make use of challenging activities for which we use activities used in cooking programmes as inspiration such as 'Masterchef', 'Hell's Kitchen' and 'Heel Holland Bakt' for instance. Furthermore we will use role play activities, outdoor games, a 2-day outdoor event, investigations in the community, problem solving, article writing and media assignments (videos). This will be the main methods we will use in the exchange. Each activity is focussed on communication and cooperation, this is the main method in the exchange and it comes back in all aspects in living, working, cleaning, assignments, outdoor, cooking, etc. At the end of the exchange activity we will organise a pop-up restaurant to which we invite locals and tourists of Ommen to come and visit, free of charge. The method is mainly living and working together, creating own projects/activities and implementing them.<< Impact >>As a result of What's Cooking we will create:- A serie of video reportages regarding the food industry created during the outdoor. Different mixed groups receive different assignments to investigate and make a reportage of, e.g. one group has the goal to find out on how a dairy farm is operating, another group on how a biological vegetable farm is operating, etc. this we will spread online through social media.- Video testimonials from participants on how they perceived the exchange and what they got out of it related to entrepreneurial learning.- Articles in the own language which will immediately be send to the local and regional newspapers, created in mixed groups.- Social media articles, such as photo collages, reports, testimonials, examples, etc. this will be spread through social media and on the websites of the partners.- Flyers, posters, etc. which can be used in the own local community in order to promote entrepreneurial learning.- A pop-up restaurant organised and facilitated by the youngsters. The expected impact we aim to have is:On the participants:- To increase their sense of initiative and entrepreneurship- To increase their employability skills- To understand and recognize possibilities regarding employment in the food industry- To understand more on that what they eat, where it is coming from and how it is cultivated - To increase their communication skills in expressing their needs and choices- To increase the cooperation skills in working together in a group- To increase the sense of a unified Europe and to become more social active citizens- To increase their self-confidence and self-esteem by working in an international group- To encourage the responsibility in making choices and decisions- To become more independent in running a household- To eradicate prejudices, racism, stereotypes and cultural differences- To create lasting friendshipsThe impact will appear in all future career steps of the participants. For example youngsters are asked to work in project groups at school but there is hardly any guidance from a teacher on how to actually work in a team, how group dynamic processes are working and which communication and cooperation tools can support them in creating productive results. (also since a lot of teachers lack skills in group dynamics and how to guide this)The expected impact on the partners and the target groups they work with (unemployed, disadvantaged youth from rural areas) we aim to have are:- Improved skills and working tools to work with youth from disadvantaged backgrounds- New insights on entrepreneurship and educating this to the target groups they work with- New activities and workshops connected to the theme: cooking which they can implement in their organisation- Increase the quality of youth work in general and increase the capacity of their organisation- Attract new volunteers to work in the organisation, both participants from the exchanges as well as a result out of the dissemination activities- Become more known and get a better name in the local community through the outcomes of What's Cooking and the possibilities offered to their youngsters. The sustainable impact of What's Cooking will be new approaches towards entrepreneurship by the partners to educate youngsters coming from rural areas on how to become more entrepreneurial and how to take more initiative. These approaches will be shared and spread on a local and regional level by each partner.

"<< Objectives >>Sales Skills for Life focuses on supporting youth workers of our partner organizations in their professional development by improving their sales and other entrepreneurial skills. We aim to boost youth workers' ability and confidence to support the entrepreneurial learning of unemployed youngsters, increasing the capacity of both their and involved organizations' work. This way contributing to our overall goal of supporting youth participation and reducing unemployment. This project will bring together 10 organizations: Biedrība re:view, On the Wings of Art, Alter Network, Sabai Training, Rota Jovem, Roes Cooperativa, YOBBO, Academia lui Ed, European Youth Center Breclav, and Youth Dynamics. We had a lot of conversations with our partner organizations, youth workers and other NGOs about entrepreneurial learning. We noticed that there are almost none entrepreneurial TCs that are highly practical thus youth workers lack these skills, such topics often feel foreign, and as a result, many youth workers don`t feel comfortable with delivering entrepreneurial learning activities. Thus, when developing this project idea, we created a short survey for the organizations who are in our network to better understand the reality. These are the key findings:-90% of respondents would like to offer entrepreneurial learnings programs for youngsters;-75% feel like they don`t have enough opportunities to improve their entrepreneurial skills;-86% need extra support and guidance to work with these topics;-70% don`t feel comfortable organizing entrepreneurial learning programs;Regarding what would support them to train the entrepreneurial skills of youngsters 90% marked ""gaining practical entrepreneurial experience"", 80% ""improving their entrepreneurial skills"" and 70% ""gaining theoretical knowledge"".Our idea is to bring the best practices from the business world and combine them with Non-Formal Education and Experiential Learning methodology this way creating a highly-practical program through which youth workers can gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience in order to increase their readiness to include entrepreneurial learning in their work. We will work on youth workers' skill development, providing various tools and methods, and putting all these learnings into practice during the mini-hackathon which will focus on creating effective initiatives that tackle societal issues - supporting the integration of Ukrainians. This way increasing their capacity to support unemployed youngsters in entering the labor market.Improving the entrepreneurial skills of young people is not only about helping them to create their businesses, it also increases their employability, supports their overall participation in various circles of society (economy, education, social life), and encourages them to realize & pursue their ideas. This way we build a pathway to their active participation and shift their position in society - from a passive group in need of external help to overcome challenges - to a group that has resources to improve their own lives and involve others. The objectives of this project are:- to develop sales and other entrepreneurial skills of 31 youth workers (38% of them facing fewer opportunities);- for youth workers to put into practice these skills and gain practical entrepreneurial experience by working on 31 professional projects/initiatives during the TC;- to create 7 ideas on how to support the integration of Ukrainians in the mini-hackathon;- to bring together 10 organizations from Latvia, Ukraine, Czechia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria.- to boost youth workers' and partner organizations' ability and confidence to support the entrepreneurial learning of unemployed youngsters;- to exchange tools and methods between the involved organizations;- to share best entrepreneurial learning practices through 7 dissemination events (online/offline); - to promote entrepreneurial learning by writing 10 articles (1 per country);- to evaluate the project through 31 Youthpasses & Questionnaires. This project focuses on the specific priorities of EU:- entrepreneurial learning & employability - developing youth workers' entrepreneurial skills and supporting them in providing entrepreneurial learning activites for their target groups.- youth employability - increasing the quality and amount of learning opportunities for youngsters, also those facing fewer opportunities, to improve their skills, practice their competencies that will support them in entering the labour market; provide adequate guidance and support.- support and integrations of Ukrainians - developing practical ideas during the mini-hackathon on how to support and integrate the people of Ukraine.- inclusion and diversity - supporting the inclusion of disadvantaged target groups and increasing youth workers' capacity in this field.<< Implementation >>Sales Skills for Life project consists of 3 main phases:- Preparation period (June - August)- Training Course (6-12 August, 2023 in Burtnieki, Latvia)- Follow-up (September - December)In this project, we have 3 main target groups: our direct target groups - youth workers; youth workers facing fewer opportunities & our indirect target group - unemployed young people.- direct target groupsThis project will gather 31 youth workers, from which 38% face fewer opportunities - are unemployed due to economic, educational, cultural and discrimination reasons. (12 people in total)1) youth workers (24-30 year olds) who are active within our partner organizations, have 2-5 years of experience in the field and possess basic facilitation skills. They work with disadvantaged youngsters (mainly unemployed) and support their skill-development. Yet they don't have previous experience with entrepreneurial learning programs, they do not feel comfortable with the topic of entrepreneurship, but they see the value that this topic holds thus they would like to gain competencies to support their target groups in this direction. 2) youth workers who possess basic facilitation skills, are working with disadvantaged youngsters and are active within our partner organizations, yet belong to the fewer opportunities target group (are unemployed due to various reasons), in addition to their professional development, they would also like to focus on their personal development, more specifically, how can they strengthen their skills in order to get a fitting job or start their own business. - indirect target group3) Unemployed young people (mainly between the ages of 18-25) who struggle to enter the labor market. they are unemployed due to the following reasons:- They are trying to transition from school/college or even university to employment, yet the skills that they have gained through formal education do not match the needs of the employers, thus it is extremely difficult for them to enter the labor market and find a fitting job.- They have been laid off during the recent crisis and changes in the labor market, and now as they are one of the most vulnerable groups they can`t find a job.During the preparation phase, youth workers will set and clarify their learning goals for themselves and the organizations. Partner will have preparatory meetings with the participants to support their involvement in the project, focus on the individual needs of this participant (whether it is emotional support, task-related or practical), help with their preparation, decide upon responsibilities and make plans for transferring the learnings. After that participants will join the Facebook group, take part in the online assignments there, this way further connecting them with the topic of the project, preparing for the TC and also getting acquainted with the other participants. The Training Course will focus on 2 different levels of youth workers' development: personal & professional development. On a personal development level, youth workers will develop their sales & entrepreneurial skills, put these into practice these skills by working on their professional projects/initiatives and gain practical entrepreneurial experience by developing ideas on how to support the integration of Ukrainians during the mini-hackathon. On a professional development level, they will exchange tools and practices with one another, learn how to map the needs of their target groups, gain theoretical knowledge and inputs, and most importantly approach these activities from a meta-level, and see how they can implement and adapt these to their work. This TC is based on the principles of Non-Formal Education and Experiential Learning, combined with the best practices coming from the business world this way creating a dynamic and supporting playground which stimulates active participation, exchange, and skill development. This will be done by setting working agreements with participants, creating various support systems (reflection groups and buddies), including various work forms in the project (discussions, role-play, case studies, outdoor activities, movement sessions, etc), offering various learning settings (individually, in couples, smaller teams or the big group). In the follow-up phase, participants will work closely with the partner organizations in order to disseminate the results of the project, evaluate their learning experience and create further impact. Participants will organize 3 online events to share entrepreneurial learning activities with other professionals and their target groups, write an article about their learnings and create social media posts to promote this topic.Participants will also have a meeting with the youth workers from their organization to evaluate and close this experience and focus on transferring their learnings, implementing their entrepreneurial skills in their work and adding entrepreneurial learning to their programs.<< Results >>Through this project we will support youth workers of our partner organizations in their professional development by improving their sales and entrepreneurial skills.
