"<< Objectives >>The objective of the project was to make it possible for youth workers from different parts of Europe to have an opportunity to get to know each other, learn from each other, share experiences and best youth work practices. We are convinced that having provided the arena for sharing experiences and mutual learning in a non-formal setting this project has improved the competences of the participants and lead to further networking. Our objective was to increase international co-operation, mobility as well as intercultural understanding through high quality activity programme. We have aimed at enhancing the capacity and professionalization of youth workers and organisations working in the field of youth in Europe.In addition to improving their individual professional competencies, the project participants have obtained an overview of the youth work policies and practices in different European countries and have been able to enhance their understanding of different cultural and social diversities. Since all the participants were multipliers they will be able to implement and disseminate to wider audience the new ideas from the different methods and good practices presented and discussed after returning to their home countries.<< Implementation >>The project was implemented within the framework of the biggest annual youth work event Nuori2020 (Youth2020), also organised by Allianssi in Tampere on January 14-16, 2020. This national event gathered about 2700 youth workers from all over the country. Within the big national event we organised this international seminar on different actual topics related to young people and youth work (migration and immigration, prevention of substance abuse and promotion of hobbies, climate change, digitalisation and future of youth work, inclusion and latest news from Europe). In the framework of this project we had 39 participants from 10 countries most of whom were youth workers from national organisations or local level. Also some youth researchers took part. We also had some 30 international participants sent by the National Agencies who were either their staff members or local youth workers. All the sessions of the international seminar were open also to Finnish participants of Nuori2020 event, and this allowed us to mix the international and Finnish participants as in many sessions, there were big numbers of Finnish participants as well. During the event, we also had presentations of Finnish youth work to international participants, e.g. visits to Tampere youth services. After 3 days in Tampere, we moved to Helsinki where we had presentations of youth work in Helsinki and a session of evaluation and planning of future co-operation.<< Results >>The results and impact of the project were very good. There was a lot of networking between the international participants and also with the Finnish participants. The participants were also very happy with the content of the event. To the question ""What is your overall opinion of the event"" 92 % answered ""excellent"" and 8 % ""good"" and full 100 % answered ""yes"" to the question ""Would you participate in a similar event again"". We also asked the participants to evaluate each session separately with the scale from 1 to 5 (5 being the best) and the average of all the answers was 4,3. To ""I learned something new or developed my existing, knowledge"" 60 % answered ""excellent"" and 40 % ""good"".From the organiser's point of view our aims were manyfold. We wanted to increase contacts and create new networks of youth workers within Europe. On the other hand, we wanted to increase the international dimension in our national event. And the third aim was to present the high quality of the Finnish youth work to our guests. We think we succeeded well in all of these aims. Our international participants were extremely happy about the contacts they could establish during their visit as well as the new things they learned from the Finnish work and also from other international colleagues. The feedback from the Finnish conference participants was also very positive. We are convinced that the project had clear impact on the competences of the participants and participating organisations. The project participants are more able togrow their professional competences but as well their intercultural and social competences. This is what they also said in their feedback reports.All the events were open for all interested participants of Nuori2020, and it was clear that many Finnish participants were interested to the topics and took part in the international sessions. One of the main goals was that Finnish youth workers will have exposure to international issues and opportunities, learn more and be more open to intercultural dialogue and mobility. By using speed dating and other informal networking methods we wanted to immerse the European participants to the whole programme and various actors of the Finnish youth work, professional or volunteer.In the official youth policy documents (e.g. Vanupo) in Finland, it is emphasized that one of the international aims of our youth policy is to improve thequality of youth work, and within this aim we wish to share the know-how of Finnish youth work system, and its skills and education structure. With thisproject we have made a substantial impact to these goals as the Finnish youth work got a lot of attention of the projects participants during their days in Finland and afterwards in their home countries."

"Rebel with a Cause is a project that aims to explore the use of creative methods within youth work, strengthen the bond to organisations that are active in different art forms and show young people how art influences the way society is thinking. Giving young people - especially those with lesser opportunities - a voice is one of the core aims of any professional youth work. Therefore showing young people how you can state your opinion in a peaceful way and still influence society is of great interest to all youth workers. Also during the COVID crisis now in 2020 we do see that those young people that have various froms of expressing themselves and spending their time in a meaningful way are getting better through periodes of lock down then others. This project strives to give more young people more opportunities to express themselves and discover talents and interests.The youth work partners will choose from different forms of art/self-expression that are relevant and interesting for young people - circus, music, gaming and painting are on top of that list. With the support of experts from those fields they will engage young people (10 - 18 years) in experimenting with those art forms for expressing their ideas, needs and wishes around the overall common theme/topic ""Planet Earth"".The method used is “learning by doing” and developing new methods through finding out what works and what doesn´t for the young people. The activites are not just there for the fun of it, but should support classic youth work goals such as: - higher self esteem - youth participation - discovering hidden talents - inclusion and taking responsibly for our society The monitoring of the project will give an answer to the question; what works and why - what fails and why. This knowledge will be disseminated through:- a research report- a manual for youth work organisations who wish to implement some of those new methods- video tutorials on the methods that worked best for direct use of other youth workers.. The project will close down with a youth mobility where all four groups can show case what they did and exchange with peers (young people and youth workers alike) from other countries their experiences. After this closing event we will distribute the gained knowledege and products in multiplier events in all four participating countries and disseminate all our materials on local, national and Europen level e.g. by publishing a dedicated issue of our LOGBOOK E-Magazine for professional open youth workers on the topic."
