A gig economy nowadays represents an environment in which temporary positions are common and organisations contract with independent workers for short-term engagements. The whole idea behind the gig economy for its supporters is that individuals – who work as freelancers and do not sign any stable contract of employment – can sell their work on a task to task base. NEEDSLabour market dynamics are shifting rapidly driven by technological progress and globalization. At the same time, less people are keen to engage as a full-time employee and also more and more organizations do not issue fixed contracts anymore. Meanwhile, surprisingly little is known about the realities of ‘gig work’. Is it a liberating new form of self-employment or a new form of exploitation? There is a growing need to reflect on how society deals with these changes in a manner that protects and educates young people.Furthermore, education and training (towards work) is mainly set up as either a preparatory route towards becoming a professional (employee). And during the last decade, schools and training centers have set up more and more entrepreneurship training courses as well. These are mainly build on turning an idea into a viable businesses. In between these two there is a gap. AIMS AND OBJECTIVESLittle attention in education and training is geared towards the upcoming form of self employment found in the gig economy. That is exactly where our initiative has its main focus: preparing individuals and communities for the opportunities and threats of the gig economy, foremost those challenged by adversity.GIG facilitates knowledge development about the emerging GIG economy to share, discuss and develop effective methods to address the risks and opportunities of the GIG economy. We will develop and implement a dedicated Learning Campaign, a Training programme for those affected most by the gig economy labour market, form Regional Alliances and develop Regional strategies and resulting action plans.PARTICIPANTSGIG ensures crosss-sectorial cooperation allowing greater synergies across all fields of actions concerning the gig economy labour market. GIG not only educates people (starters on the labour market and those facing adversity) about the opportunities and threats the gig economy entails (IO2), it also unites all stakeholders that are affected by the changes the gig economy will bring; people directly affected by the gig economy labour market themselves but also educational institutes, local and regional authorities, policy makers, youth organisations, co-working spaces, employers organisations, etc. All these actors will join forces in the GIG regional alliances (IO3), understand the implications of the gig economy and create regional strategies and action plans (IO4) to address the gig economy together. GIG will prove to be a mutual learning process of all stakeholders through active direct involvement of 500+ participants during IO development, the set-up and execution of 4 regional alliances, 8 Multiplier Events and 2 Training Activities.INTANGIBLE RESULTS UPON COMPLETIONBy participating in the GIG project, learners will not only learn about the gig economy and the opportunities and threats it encompasses, when finalising their participation in the project they will be better equipped to enter the labour market and will be armed against the possible exploitation in the gig economy. By joining forces and setting up regional alliances, also stakeholders that are affected by the consequences of the gig economy will have better understanding of the concept and will be better equipped to prepare for this changing environment.TANGIBLE RESULTS UPON COMPLETIONGIG will develop four tangible Open Educational Resources:•IO1 - GIG - Learning Campaign•IO2 - GIG - Training programme for starters on the labour market and job seekers•IO3 - GIG - Regional Alliance set-up toolkit•IO4 - GIG - Regional strategy and action planThese concrete results will be shared with the target group ant other relevant stakeholders and interested external parties via Multiplier Events and other forms of communication.IMPACT & LONG TERM BENEFITSGIG effectuates a true change in knowledge, behaviour, perception and competences of the target groups involved concerning the emerging gig economy. In addition it will contribute a transformation in (employment) education practise, regional policy & cooperation.CONSORTIUMThe GIG consortium consists of 8 complementary partners from IE, NL, ES and ITA which operate in the field of vocational education & training or in education & regional employment policy making and execution, which all possess a regional and international cooperative orientation.

Despite their enormous potential for RES, in practice many farmers are not capable of accessing the financial, technical and administrative resources required for installing RES capacity on their farms. This is caused by RES investments generally being restricted to project finance for large installations while RES types that can be installed on farms require bank loans. This limitation greatly restricts capital supply while raising overall cost. Most farms in the targeted countries have a low credit profile that disqualifies them for loans. To overcome this limitation and fully take advantage of the last few years´ cost reductions and performance advancements in RES, a tailored investment instrument is needed that can attract capital from capital markets and especially from institutional investors to on-farm RES. The recent appearance of innovative investment schemes, addressed to overcome similar challenges in other sectors, demonstrates that, by creating pools of RES, access to capital market resources can be realized. The proposed action is designed to initiate a structured dialogue among farmers, financiers and other relevant experts and stakeholders in order to develop and promote such an investment instrument, tailored for on-farm RES. The consortium that presents this proposal includes, among other key stakeholders, a leading European financial institution, a university as well as the largest farmers´ associations of Spain, Italy and Greece. The quality of the consortium and the relevance of the expected results mean that this proposal is a unique opportunity to increase the financeability of on-farm RES in Europe.

However, according to the records of the Silivri Chamber of Agriculture in 2020, only 50 (there are many unregistered female farmers) of the 2000 registered farmers are women farmers. This huge gap between female and male farmers shows the urgent necessity of women empowerment in agriculture sector in Silivri. Agricultural Production and Research Center (TURAM), established by Silivri Municipality in 2011, which focuses on women empowerment in agriculture sector, has 255 acres of land for implications, research and trainings for farmers. TURAM conducts trainings to empower women farmers engaged in small-scale agricultural activities in the region, supports women cooperatives, provides machinery and equipment support for the production of value-added products, etc. However, although adult educators in our municipality are well enough in vocational sense, they are unfortunately insufficient in developing cooperatives trainings and other key skills. This is evident from the inadequate activities of women's role in cooperatives in our region and their inability to achieve sustainability.Being a member of agricultural cooperatives needs specific characteristics and basic skills that are missed the cut by female farmers because of the inadequate trainings about the cooperative system. These characteristics and skills can be counted as communication, understanding cooperatives, participation-learning-training (PLT) and digital competence. When there is lack of understanding the procedure of agricultural cooperatives, participation and sustainability decrease because members do not have the knowledge in basic rights, marketing, sales strategy management and organizing planning. If the communication in the cooperatives is not oughtness, members would not work in a harmony and cannot get the sustainability. Since there is no proper learning of these socio-behavioural concepts, learners cannot develop empathy, communication in business ethics, problem solving and critical thinking. Without these skills, they cannot be successful in the understanding cooperatives such as management, marketing and organizing. Importantly, digital transition which is a compulsory skill under the pandemic period as well as personal development is crucial for the agricultural cooperative systems. These trainings are provided at the university level and have no equivalent in adult education neither in Turkey nor in the countries of participating organizations. More active participation of adult educators is needed for women farmers to receive agricultural cooperatives training in a better quality and sustainable manner. In addition, through training and skills development, rural women and adult learners in general can play a much greater role in the development of agricultural value chains and, their cooperatives will contribute to the increases in economic and social value in their regions. The rate of European Parliament stated in previous question proves to needs of urgent intervention and innovative tools for women empowerment in agriculture sector in EU Countries.<< Objectives >>Since the project focus on women empowerment in agricultural cooperatives, the main objectives and expected achievements by implying it as follows,•To increase the agricultural cooperation and digital transformation skills of women farmers•To provide adult educators of the partnership organizations with methodology and tools which will help them to organize better their training courses on cooperatives and enhance their skills on training approach to women coming from rural areas.•To strengthen the capacity of the agricultural woman cooperatives through enhanced cooperation with adult education and providing innovative training•To encourage cooperative farming among woman and to raise of awareness of women entrepreneurship in rural areas.•Resolving the problems in the field of agricultural cooperatives by sharing the know-how and experiences of the participating institutions•Meeting the needs of the target group efficiently with a European perspective•Contribute to the empowerment of women in rural areas, which is a cross-border need•To generate innovative ideas from an international perspective•To provide women farmers with an improved training in agricultural cooperatives at EU level•Increasing the capacity and professionalism of participants at EU / international level•To reach wider audiences in disseminating project results•Contributing to the European Commission and Erasmus + priorities with women empowerment, rural development, sustainability and digital transformation.<< Implementation >>There are key activities for gaining the project objectives. If success is achieved in these activities, the planned results and project targets will be achieved. These activities are as follows,Development of Intellectual Outputs:The most important activities for meeting the needs of the target audience of the project and achieving the project goals are the development of the intellectual outputs. Three intellectual outputs will be developed in accordance with the project objectives as follows,Innovative Methodology for Agricultural Cooperatives Training,The first output in the project is an innovative methodology that contributes to other outputs. Thanks to this output, adult educators will increase the quality of agricultural cooperatives training and train women farmers with more effective methods. The know-how, experience and research of all partners will contribute while developing the output. In this way, the output will contain a comprehensive content from digital transformation to adult education.Training Module for Women Farmers,A training module will contribute to the development of women farmers in agricultural cooperatives and also increase their socioeconomic skills. With this module, women who are trained in agricultural cooperatives will also gain digital and communicative competencies. Thanks to the acquired skills, the goal of sustainability and empowerment of women in agricultural cooperatives will be achieved. As in the first output, all partners will work together and it will be ensured that the prepared module has an innovative and comprehensive content.AgroSis (e-Learning Platform),A platform will be developed for women to gain experience as well as theoretical knowledge and put what they have learned into practice. This platform will contain simulations, implication videos and online classes. All partners will work together to prepare and regularly update the contents, and will conduct developmental research at specific time periods. Thanks to this platform, women's empowerment will not remain in theory and will be put into practice. In addition, not only women farmers, but also adult educators will put their learning into practice through online education, cooperatives and simulations.Transnational Meetings:All partner institutions will take part in these meetings and the outputs will be evaluated in detail. Exchange of ideas and feedback will be made for these evaluations. In this way, the project outputs will be updated according to the feedbacks and they will be of the best quality. In addition, thanks to the transnational meetings, communication between partners will increase and the networks of participating institutions will expand.Multiplier Events:Multiplier events are an important activity for the dissemination of project results and to meet the needs of a wider target audience. Thanks to these events, the project outputs will support agricultural cooperatives training and women's empowerment in agricultural cooperatives both in Turkey and Europe. The project outputs, which offer innovative and modern agricultural cooperative education, will be able to reach policy makers and decision makers through these activities and will be used by many institutions in adult education.LTT Mobility for Adult Educators:Our partner AGACA, which has expertise and experience in the field of agricultural cooperatives, will host trainers training. In this way, adult educators will provide a more efficient education by developing on online education, adult education and new methods of agricultural cooperatives. Therefore, women farmers will be empowered in the field of agricultural cooperatives thanks to a higher quality education.<< Results >>The key goal of the project is to empower women farmers in agricultural cooperatives. To achieve this, the project seeks solutions to improve the profile and competencies of women farmers. In line with this purpose and need, tangible and intangible results will be obtained in the project. The most important tangible results of the project are the following intellectual outputs:- Innovative Methodology for Agricultural Cooperatives Training- Training Module for Women Farmers- AgroSis (e-Platform)In order to strengthen women farmers in agricultural cooperatives and to increase sustainability in these cooperatives, the project provides results for the development of women farmers. Thanks to these results, women farmers will increase their skills in agricultural cooperative with social, digital and managerial competencies. In order to acquire these competencies and achieve the project's purpose, an innovative methodology will be prepared to support adult educators who provide training to women farmers. While preparing this output, all partners will work together to bring the most innovative methods and modern perspectives. Thanks to the methodology to be designed, adult educators will provide female farmers with a content-rich training by transferring their knowledge more easily with effective techniques. Moreover, the LTT activity will also broaden the knowledge and experiences of adult educators to provide high quality agricultural cooperatives training. Training module, another output of the project, will be a comprehensive material for women farmers as a non-formal training. In this way, the competencies of women not only in the field of cooperatives but also in digital, social and administrative areas will increase throughout the training. This training module will be a learning material for female farmers and a teaching material for adult educators. In addition, it will be a learner-centered material thanks to the collaboration of local institutions that have information about the profile of women farmers and foreign institutions that are experts in the field of cooperatives. AgroSis platform will be prepared for adult educators and women farmers to gain experience and development as well as theoretical education. Thanks to the platform, women farmers and adult educators will put their digital skills into practice, gain experience through simulations, adapt to distance education and access auxiliary materials. With tangible results, obstacles to empower women farmers living in rural areas will be overcome by providing quality education and increasing competencies for success. The intangible results expected within the project are as follows:-The main target group of the project is women farmers living in rural areas. Thanks to the project, women farmers will have access to a better-quality education and will gain important skills. Thanks to these skills and effective training, female farmers will have economic power and will also be empowered in society.-Adult educators involved in the project will be more qualified than their colleagues in agricultural cooperative education and will expand the EU colleague network thanks to the transnational partnership.-The outputs of the project will be used by institutions such as public education centers, vocational training centers, associations, NGOs and will be delivered to adults who want to receive training in the field of agricultural cooperatives.-Thanks to the project, the networks of participating institutions and their recognition in Europe will increase.-With partnership, the outputs will be prepared with an advanced perspective and they will be used not only at local level but also national and international level.

On the one hand, by training consultants capable of understanding the needs of livestock farms and proposing solutions to problems linked to their sustainability and, on the other, to participate in the identification of a methodology useful for assessing the sustainability (environmental, economic and social) of farms.<< Implementation >>The core of UP-FARMING project is the training provision, that is made of 3 steps. The first is the training delivery, during which trainees will get relevant knowledge on the topic. The second is the Farmers’ Awareness Raising Laboratory, during which trainees will implement a consultacy activity with real case studies, involving local farms. The third step sees the joint development of a strategy to assess and communicate sustainability<< Results >>The project expected result is twofold. First, structuring a training offer for recent graduates/technicians in agricultural sciences to train them as consultants to accompany farms on sustainability paths and improve their employability. Second, a practical implementation of the skills acquired, leading indirectly to the training of more aware farmers, able to communicate the issue of sustainability to their audience.

GALEGA,GALLEGA,CHANGEMAKER ABFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2021-1-IE01-KA220-VET-000034835Funder Contribution: 368,796 EUR"<< Background >>In 2016, the Japanese government introduced society 5.0 or also known as super-intelligent society as a connected society where Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robots will be fully integrated in order to provide a digital and physical infrastructure for everyday life. Society 5.0 will be human-centred and will take advantage of aIl this to tackle problems that affect the whole of society, such as the ageing of the population or pollution. The agri-food co-operatives sector must participate and join this trend and support the creation of a society, which is aware and committed to the problems it faces, avoiding becoming a sector that remains a trace of the technological past.#LEADFARM 5.0 will carry out a conceptual and experimental analysis of this trend which implies the empowerment of the human being supported by technology at the center of production processes. The agri-food co-operatives need to improve innovative and driving key capacities, skills and competencies for change in the fields of action for climate and AI without neglecting the most basic human values linked to co-operatives, essential in Society 5.0, considering the Industry trend towards the automation of production processes, in the context of AI development, of the immersion of the industry in intelligent spaces based on the IoT, of cognitive computing, of the use of cobots (Robots co-operatives), of promoting Precision Agriculture (PA) and without forgetting climate change mitigation.#LEADFARM 5.0 arises from the need to improve the knowledge, capacities and skills of European agri-food co-operatives regarding the use of digital innovations that can be easily adapted to new agricultural models that will largely replace the intensive industrial farming model and that will require changes in business decision-making processes (human resources, customer relations, sales, marketing, supply, etc.).The pandemic has brought to the forefront the importance of digitisation and connectivity to maintain the personal, social and professional life of all population, and economic life. It has also shown evidence of the various gaps (territorial, social, gender, business, etc.) that have widened with COVID-19 in the societies and between them; revealing once again the need to move towards Society 5.0 in which digitisation and connectivity will be available and help the society to fill these gaps and facilitate compliance with several of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).According to the Japanese Government, to achieve Society 5.0, several barriers have to be overcome: Public Administration and legal system, that has to be involved in strategies and encourage the implementation of advanced techniques; Technological framework, R&D policy and protection of the main technological advances and their impacts; Human resources, with adequate educational/ training reform and human resource management in advanced digital skills; Acceptance and social involvement (the major barrier), considering aspects such as the man-machine relationship and individual happiness. #LEADFARM 5.0 will seek to link the technological, economic and social change, through a broad and socially committed approach to innovation in the agri-food co-operatives, by developing a training study plan (Human Resources), new digital tools based on AI (Technological Framework) and with the signature of the Pact 5.0, a multisectoral commitment that aligns to the strategic lines set in the Action Plans designed with the propose of removing all the barriers and achieve the needed acceptance and social involvement towards the Society 5.0.<< Objectives >>#LEADFARM 5.0 aims: to analyse the emerging employment opportunities offered by digital innovations for a Society 5.0, to diagnose the skills and future competences necessary in the cooperative agri-food sector, to develop innovative learning methodologies and to support mechanisms for smart specialization aimed at co-operatives and young farmers, to promote scientific dissemination through new accessible forms of learning that ensure equal opportunities for groups at risk of exclusion, to encourage the participation of women in the new emerging jobs detected and to promote culture and the necessary cooperative values in the Company 5.0.#LEADFARM 5.0 will work as a network for the development and experimentation of a competence framework and training curricula, which will help to obtain the key future skills, knowledge and competencies in: ICT and robotic technologies; Environment; Management and entrepreneurship and Social and emotional intelligence that will give us an overall picture of the success factors of resilience linked to AI and Climate Change applicable to the agri-food sector in the EU and for intelligent advice on new sustainable opportunities emerging in rural areas. This training curriculum will be used as a tool that will serve to transfer knowledge and promote scientific dissemination to reach smaller cooperatives and agri-food farms, youth and women farmers, sharing knowledge with them through a new educational and universal and accessible mentoring mechanism.#LEADFARM 5.0 will focus on trainers, farmers and members of the agri-food co-operatives as its priority target group (especially women and youth). Furthermore, given the scope of multidimensional training proposed, this project is also aimed at stakeholders related to the co-operative sector and the Social Economy, as well as to the field of VET.#LEADFARM 5.0 will have a great impact by making the results of the project available to young farmers, members of the agri-food co-operatives and trainers, in particular: a training plan and innovative content for the acquisition of the necessary key knowledge, skills and competencies, detected during the project, to adapt the sector to the challenges of the future in rural Europe (i.e. the digital revolution and climate change); and by promoting the dissemination and transfer of technical and scientific knowledge related to AI, IoT, cobots and their applicability in the sector and by improving the smart support praxis accessible to agri-food co-operatives for their change process. It will also generate greater awareness of the importance of involving younger generations and women in this Social Revolution 5.0 through this future training at the European level to guarantee a generational shift in the sector and guarantee equal opportunities by reducing the double gap suffered by women.#LEADFARM 5.0 is a roadmap for agri-food co-operatives to import Society 5.0 as a concept and vision with profound impacts on the current way of facing the world after the COVID19 crisis; it pretends to connect the different agents involved in that transformation, through the signature of an agreement with powerful strategies within the framework of the sustainable development of the productive activities of European agri-food co-operatives that include new parameters of technological, economic and industrial development, with the human being and the “social being” at the centre of the growth strategy for 2030.<< Implementation >>We start from the Logical Framework Approach to carry out the diagnosis and formulation of #LEADFARM 5.0, an approach which provides us a useful matrix for the programming of activities and the project management cycle. The activities have been grouped into 6 Work Packages (WP), 2 transversal (WP1 “Coordination and management” and WP2 “Dissemination and exploitation of results”) and 3 specific packages (WP3- WP5). Each WP details the different activities included, as well as the results that are intended to be achieved, determining the role of each partner in its coordination and implementation. Furthermore, #LEADFARM 5.0 allows us to widen the impact at EU level, by involving directly more territories in the project (i.e., Portugal, Poland & Italy). The project aims to move ahead towards human society 5.0, where the knowledge of information is carried out by machines at the service of people, through Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of things (IoT), robotics, cognitive computing , etc., in line with the ninth key objective of the new CAP which aims to ""improve the response of EU agriculture to social demands for food and health, including safe, nutritious and sustainable food, reducing waste of food as well as animal welfare ”and therefore pays special attention to people. Therefore, the project helps agri-food farms and co-operatives to: invest in empowering their workforce (including their management skills), achieving sustainability and productivity at the same time; adapt to technological disruption; and identify and take advantage of the opportunities of digital and green economies as they emerge, while fostering participation and cooperation in decision-making processes, of people at risk of exclusion (women, youth, etc.).Once completed, the project will provide strategic keys in the detection of potential innovation ecosystems for European agri-food co-operatives, their associations and farmers especially at risk of exclusion (women, youth). Thus, based on the tasks and intellectual products developed within the project, curricular profiles adapted to the state or regional contexts of VET may be prepared; this, will give greater scope to the VET professionals and support teams from the agri-food co-operatives when implementing the curricula defined and developed during the project. The project will also contribute to the visibility of the co-operative culture and values, to provide a better understanding of the co-operative enterprise. These aspects will be disseminated as values of the future 5.0, in which workers must be adequately trained in ethic, values and knowledge (reflected in work), promoting the generation of a discourse that displaces the weight of the productive and economic processes to the human, to the people, directed to the entire community of VET and especially to those actors with the competencies of training of trainers.#LEADFARM 5.0 will also provide a forum for transformative reflection between different stakeholders; this forum will:- facilitate the transition towards the society 5.0, by seeking the commitment of the public and private sectors and, the general acceptance and social involvement of EU communities, through the signing of a European Pact 5.0 and,- ensure the generational shift between rural youth and equal opportunities among groups at risk of exclusion (women, youth, ...), two of the cross-cutting measures when designing the training content, curricula and digital tools; and thus, to achieve a greater empowering effect in the field of AI and climate change, avoiding future discrimination situations."
