    Sharing Cities has four key objectives. 1) To achieve scale in the European smart cities market by proving that properly designed smart city solutions, based around common needs, can be integrated in complex urban environments. This will be done in a way that exhibits their true potential and allows for the significant scale-up and consequent increase in social, economic and environmental value. 2) Adopt a digital first approach which proves the extent to which ICT integration can improve and connect up existing infrastructure, as well as the design and running of new city infrastructure. This will also allow for the creation of a new set of next stage digital services which will help citizens make better and beneficial choices around energy efficiency and mobility, which when scaled up will enhance the city’s ability to hit key targets for mobility, housing, energy efficiency and resilience, and economic development. 3) Accelerate the market to understand, develop and trial business, investment and governance models, essential for the true aggregation and replication (through collaboration) of smart city solutions in cities of different sizes and maturities. In doing this, we intend to accelerate the pace by which we make transformative improvements, and enhance sustainability in communities. 4) Share and collaborate for society: to respond to increasing demand for participation; to enhance mechanisms for citizens’ engagement; to improve local governments capacity for policy making and service delivery through collaboration and co-design; resulting in outcomes that are better for citizens, businesses and visitors. These will be delivered by a range of expert partners across 8 work packages.

    Women face higher risks and burdens than men in transport, due to unequal access to resources, education, job opportunities and entrenched socio-cultural norms. The TInnGO project will develop a framework and mechanisms for a sustainable game change in European transport using the transformative strategy of gender and diversity sensitive smart mobility. It will address gender related contemporary challenges in the transport ecosystem and women’s mobility needs, creating a route for Gender Sensitive Smart Mobility in European Transport, which considers diversity of different groups. Intersectional analysis, with gender aligned to socio cultural dimensions, will be applied to different types of transport data, assessment tools, modelling of new mobility policies, planning and services to show prevalence of transport poverty in traditionally hard to reach groups. TInnGO will show how inequalities are created and address gendered practices of education, employment, technological innovations and entrepreneurship as arenas for change and inclusion of gendered innovations. A Pan European observatory for gender smart transport innovation (TInnGO) will provide a nexus for data collection, analysis, dissemination of gender mainstreaming tools and open innovation. TInnGO's emphasis on diverse and specific transport needs is shown in its unique comparative approach enabling contributions from, and influence of 13-member states in 10 hubs. These will employ qualitative, quantitative and design research methods, combining hands-on knowledge, concrete actions and best practices to develop gender and diversity sensitive smart mobilities and solutions through associated ideas factories (TInnGIdLabs). No former EU funded project has applied an intersectional gender approach to smartening transport. TInnGO will therefore lead research into a new era and use the knowledge to achieve impacts on Social, Economic, Environmental and European ambitions of growth, wealth and innovation.

    In a fast moving environment, access to information about options for travel that is instant, easy to use, attractive to customers, and authoritative is vital. Therefore a one-stop-mobility shop, acting as a personal mobility assistant, is the key to offer citizens an alternative that challenges car ownership. New technologies can play a crucial role for a large scale and stable business operation of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) at a global level. Interoperability Framework, Travel Shopping, Booking and Ticketing, Validation, Payment and Trip Tracking are technologies developed within Shift2Rail IP4 to meet the engineering challenges associated with leveraging current actions on establishing open-data policies and data exchange standardization. Given this, the main goal of Shift2MaaS is to support the uptake of the IP4 technology and overcome the technical and non-technical barriers for the adoption of new integrated mobility platforms. Shift2MaaS aims to support the introduction of Shift2Rail IP4 technology within the MaaS context by analysing the needs in terms of technology enablers of the different stakeholders involved, and demonstrating the benefits of IP4 through pilot demonstrators of collective and shared mobility services and the seamless passenger experience. To this end, Shift2MaaS will co-design and validate advanced use-cases for the deployment and implementation of COHESIVE solutions. The Shift2MaaS impact is validated and assessed in three European sites, all strongly engaged in the intermodality and MaaS domain, and setting specific actions on existing or new MaaS schemes. Shift2MaaS thus builds on and adds to previous projects by makes the connection to real environments. Shift2MaaS will also analyse regulatory and behavioural aspects of the IP4 multimodal transport services market place on business logics, on the creation of new business models and on the behavioural / demand response of passengers; contributing to an overall economic assessment.
