All participants were selected from the targetgroup who already participated in the training activities of the Regional project “SCUOLE VETRINA TOSCANA”(sub-programme of “VETRINA TOSCANA”) that, only in 2013 and 2014, involved more than 500 students. “VET-EU”, in fact, aimed to complete with a EU mobility experience the training path of a target of participants, who, having acquiredcompetences and skills of cooking and culinary art in VET School context, carried out also an intra-curriculum training pathon the valorization of the characteristic of the local products of the Tuscany Region.Participants, after their selection carried out by the five Tourism and Catering VET schools (sending partners of the project),received an intercultural preparation as well as being stimulated to self-study on the hosting country, in order to improve theirlanguage skills and to actively participate throughout the European path. The preparation, therefore, involvedmulti-disciplinary pedagogical, linguistic and cultural preparation aimed to provide information, even of a practical nature, including various aspects of an internship abroad as well as knowledge and skills useful to a full integration into the contextof the hosting country (e.g. highlights on the cultural aspects of the host country, lifestyles and working conditions). Thetraining and learning programme abroad included an internship in selected companies in the tourism and catering sector, toacquire knowledge and skills within the sectors and compare the various professional techniques, and activities aimed at theinclusion and integration in the context and for the improvement of language skills and to better know the culture of thehosting country. The main results from the project included: the rise of the personal and professional skills of the learners, and the promotion of key competencies related to the real exercise of active citizenship; increasing the employment potentialof the participants, the introduction of innovative training methods as a complement to existing practices and pathways andthe improvement of the educational level of technical and vocational schools, the development of relations between thetransnational partners and the promotion of processes of cooperation and exchange of good practices between the partnersinvolved, with a significant impact in improving the educational and vocational guidance. The Consortium, with this project, therefore, aimed to give momentum to the internationalization of institutional relations andcooperation at European level. The opportunities for economic and social growth cannot be separated from the desire tocreate strong interdependence and synergy between educational and training institutions and strong partnerships with localand foreign business realities. The project was, besides, implemented in an European context considering the Europeanpriority and thematic approached such as ""ECVET for transparency and recognition of learning outcomes and qualifications"".The development of ECVET began in 2002 after the Copenhagen Process emphasizing the need for a credit transfer systemfor VET. “VET-EU” was a project based on the concrete responses to the questions of developing ECVET in the Europeanmember States and corresponding to the 2009 EU Recommendations on the establishment of the European Credit systemfor VET. The project worked, in particular, to realise a European area for Lifelong Learning in the Tourism and Cateringsector. The whole activities were implemented by regarding a strong European perspective which was reflected in all projectactivities and results. The project aimed to increase the knowledge of ECVET and its technical specifications and ensuringthat the added value of ECVET was understood and perceived inside and outside the partnership."

MATTEOTTI PISA,Colegiul Tehnic de Industrie Alimentara TerezianumFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2016-1-SK01-KA219-022554Funder Contribution: 54,400 EURThe main idea for the creation of a joint transnational project was to look for ways and strategies to effectively integrate students with learning disabilities, students from marginalized groups, from immigrant families, students with different social, racial, cultural and ethnic origins and different needs. At the same time, we have worked intensively on the effective involvement of local and regional entrepreneurs in the process of professional training of their future employees. To identify the needs of the target groups we have created a questionnaire for local entrepreneurs. The analysis of their results served as a key factor in setting the objectives of the project, significantly helping to identify the competencies and skills to which the project was targeted. We have drawn from the fact that target groups of pupils targeted by our project also need education and qualifications to enable them to adequately apply to the global labor market. Due to the increasing globalization and labor mobility, they must be able to work and live in ethnic, racial, cultural and religiously diverse communities and communities in the future. At the same time, it is essential to develop key language, digital and entrepreneurial skills. One of the important goals of the project was to prepare graduates who would be ready not only to work actively, but also to start successful business in any area of the economy and industry. In order to reduce the growing number of students who for various reasons have not obtained the necessary qualifications and education, and are subsequently exposed to the constant risk of early school leaving, it is necessary to change the organization of education. Young people without adequate education, skills and knowledge belong to the group of the population facing the biggest problem of applying to the global labor market. It is extremely important for them to get the right motivation to stay in school and get high-quality education and qualifications. The project involved 45 students and 6 teachers from 3 secondary vocational schools from Komárno, Suceava and Pisa. Other pupils and partner school teachers participated in virtual project activities. All three secondary vocational schools have been facing very similar current issues: countries that are struggling with the impact of the ongoing socio-economic crisis are characterized by the growing number of people living in excluded marginalized communities, such as members of the Roma community and descendants of immigrants from third world countries. As all three schools operate in regions with a shortage of job opportunities in industry, they also look for areas of education that will give graduates better chances in the labor market. The aim of the project was to ensure equal access to the labor market regardless of origin, language, culture and religion. Over two years, we've successfully organized three training activities and two virtual education series. The aim of the activities was to acquire and strengthen skills and competencies that ensure greater flexibility in the labor market. Thanks to the innovative approach, we have created our own learning materials and we have fully adapted the activities to the needs of the target groups that the project was aimed at. We have used non-traditional methods, forms and approaches throughout the project, developing creativity, initiative and innovation. We introduced the elements of peer learning and through working in international mixed groups, we focused on the acquisition of entrepreneurial, language and digital skills. We have created a common web site that we gradually update and use as a learning material for introducing CLIL, teaching of economic subjects and foreign language. We have laid the foundations for further successful cooperation on the eTwinning platform and the ERASMUS + VIRTUAL INNOVATION CENTER project.

Dinis,LICEUL TEHNOLOGIC ECONOMIC NICOLAE IORGA PASCANIFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2016-1-RO01-KA201-024552Funder Contribution: 129,985 EUR"""Feed4Saving"" was a strategic partnership developed by eights schools from Europe and implemented in the period 2016-2018, with the financial support of the European Commission, through the programme Erasmus+, Key Action 2. The project emerged from the need to offer schools a range of concrete tools to help them prevent or intervene in cases of early school leaving, which is a real problem of the education system nowadays, identified as such even by the European Union in the ET 2020. Thus, the objectives of the partnership referred to the causes of the early school leaving phenomenon and the project aimed to:- improve students' school performance by equipping them with practical skills in the fields of languages (communication), science, art and cooking- enhance students’ engagement and motivation to attend school by implementing effective self-awareness and evaluation tools- reduce the degree of absenteeism with at least 5% among the students of the partner schools- improve teachers' skills when dealing with students at risk of early school drop-out, by equipping them with innovative methodology meant to boost students' motivation and involvement. The target group of the project was formed of a number of about 400 secondary school students, aged 13-19, belonging to the eight European schools, from countries affected by the phenomenon of school drop-out – Romania, Italy (2 schools), Portugal, Spain, France, Turkey and Greece. Six partner schools (Romania, Italy, France, Greece, Turkey) were vocational, training students in the field of tourism, agriculture and/or food services, while the Spanish school was vocational in the field of Computer sciences and the Portuguese school offered academic training. Despite this, all of them were dealing with the problem of early school leaving, implementing different strategies or even concrete programmes funded by the local community (eg. Spain). The project activities were designed in such a way so as to involve students in their own learning process while, at the same time, motivating them to attend school. The project started with a survey, it continued with the implementation of workshops that boosted students’ motivation and also with practical activities within four laboratories on Language (English), Maths, Art and Cooking. In fact, all the activities were organized around the simple activity of cooking and the laboratories offered information and working methods that supported this main activity. The methods used in the project were the non-formal ones (workshops, peer-to-peer, ""The human library"", ""World cafe"" etc.) and the laboratories where, by using the theoretical knowledge, students were able to build practical skills. There were two results developed by the partnership - a collection of resources, entitled suggestively ""Boost your class!', meant to help increase students' motivation and a pedagogical kit ""Teaching through Laboratories"" offering ready-made lesson plans, materials and good practice examples in four modules - Language lab, Maths Lab, Artistic Lab and Cooking lab.By getting involved in this project, the students understood how important schooling is, they improved greatly their motivation for attending classes (the number of absences decreased by 10,51%, thus doubling the proposed goal), due to the fact that new methods were employed by teachers and also due to students' direct involvement in their own learning process. Besides these, the valuable exchange of good practices and the development of new teaching methods and materials allowed teachers to make their lessons more attractive, contributing in this way to students' success in their school life. The long-term benefits refer to integrating the results in the curriculum of the participating schools and also to their distribution to other interested schools and stakeholders (among whom NGOs, local enterprises - restaurants, catering units, school inspectorates). The partner schools aim to develop new activities and projects in the future based on the results generated by this partnership, which can take our ideas further, to a new level."
