The stay allowed to work on the in-depth knowledge of the participants, their missions and their publics in order to build together future projects of youth exchanges. The seminar took place in Belgium from Monday October 15th) to Friday, October 19th, and was built on the basis of participants' input from their non-formal education methods. At the end of the seminar, the participants gained a good representation of the realities of each other to be able to put groups of young people in relation to the purpose of creating exchanges. In the longer term, we hope that this activity and its impact will make it possible to support a network of European youth operators who work collectively on the quality of their international actions.

We have noticed that many of our friends still live with their parents or rent a room in a student flat/dorm, while our parents or grandparents in this age have already become independent. This is not a rule, but while we were talking about it in an international group, we noticed that we can find many similar cases in each of our countries. That is why we used research - it turned out that young Europeans actually become independent later and later - these differences are diametrically different when comparing individual countries. Therefore, we want to think about the perspectives of young people in different countries, their financial and housing perspectives when entering adulthood after finishing school. We want to discuss the cultural and economic conditions of our countries, as well as barriers and social pressure that weigh on young people when they enter adulthood, and what their chances are to improve their material situation. The goals of our project are to draw attention to inequalities, especially in economic terms, between countries and within countries, to draw attention to the cultural aspect of housing, to draw attention and to study how young people live in Europe, to spread the scale of the problem of housing of young people we notice Europe.<< Activities >>We are a group of 36 young people from Spain, Malta, Poland, Romania, Turkey and Italy, who are either currently at the stage of becoming independent or are facing difficult decisions regarding their future. Some of us are just finishing high school, while some are studying at universities in our countries. Each of us is involved in the activities of our organizations, we are keenly interested in topics related to young people - we believe that we must take matters from our own hands to do anything both for us and our peers, but also for subsequent generations of young people entering adults life.1. Deepening knowledge and the stage of preliminary preparations: during this stage, it will be crucial that each of us engages equally and reliably revises his knowledge of the topic. This stage will consist of sharing articles / documents / sharing existing knowledge (i.e. continuation of what we are doing now while preparing our application) using video conferencing and group on Facebook.2. Preparatory visit: 2 persons from each of our national groups will take part in the visit. The meeting will be attended by group leaders and one person - if there is a person with health problems or other smaller opportunities in the group, we want them to take part in the meeting. The visit will be used to discuss logistic and organizational matters and to summarize the preparations so far.3. Preparation of materials: at this stage, we will prepare substantive materials related to the meeting - we will prepare the outline of the workshop (each of us will be involved in conducting the workshop - to a lesser extent a group from Poland, due to the fact that they will be more involved in organizing organizational issues logistics, however, everyone will be involved in substantive preparation and conducting a minimum of one workshop related to the subject of the project. At this stage, we will also prepare our research tool - a questionnaire.4. Diagnosing the problem: each of us will be equally involved in the implementation of the research - each of them has declared a minimum of 10 people to be surveyed, which in total will give us a minimum number of minimum 360 respondents. Of course, if someone decides that more people are interviewing, it will be appreciated, but we do not want a few people to stand out above others - that's why, if it is easy to conduct the research, we will increase the number of respondents by each of us.5. Capturing history: at this stage, some of us will be involved in the work of photographers, and some reporters. We will photograph the economic and housing situation of young people in our local communities and describe what they have to say about it. This work will take place in groups of 2 or 3 in our regions (so we will divide in national groups).6. Meeting in Poland: each of us will take part in this stage - it will be held according to the schedule attached to the application.7. Dissemination: we will be equally involved again in this phase. Some of us will use their contacts in organizing places where we can exhibit our work, some will deal with their distribution and physical organization, while some will take care of the Facebook page and online dissemination of our project results.<< Impact >>The result of our work will be the creation of a photo exhibition that will be presented in all our countries. The exhibition will consist of photos that we will take ourselves and which will show people - our peers and their financial and housing situation in which they found themselves. Each of the photographs will be described by the story of a man in a way that he himself will tell us - as if he were talking to the viewer. These photographs will also be placed along with the stories of the Facebook page that we want to create during our project - it will be our diary of meetings, what we have achieved, and the place through which we want to disseminate the effects developed by us. The exhibition will be located in several places in the cities and regions in which we operate. We will place it in public spaces - some of us cooperate with universities, libraries and other places of culture in our regions - we will want to use these contacts to exhibit our works in these places. In some places, we also want to put photographs with descriptions in the form of a poster, which can be hung on an advertisement pole or information board in a place known to local youth. We put our Facebook page address on such posters. The next results will also include: a report from our research conducted before the main meeting, which was interpreted during the meeting, and a brochure in the form of a guide to the European labor market.

The project’s main activity, a residential training course for youth workers, aimed to develop youth worker competencies and enhance youth involvement for a positive resolution to the refugee crisis, mainly using the IOM/UNHCR Not Just Numbers Manual. The project was a direct reflection of the interests and needs of young people in partner countries and organisations across European countries affected by the refugee crisis. As over the last 4 years, the Middle East and Europe have been affected by wars, revolutions, armed conflict and tensions between societies and communities. Youth workers in all countries need to work jointly to respond to the new challenges in the spirit of dialogue and co-operation. The IOM Not Just Numbers Manual (developed with UNHCR) provide a good platform for this. The course brought together 28 participants from organisations in seven countries. All participants were selected by partner organisations on the basis of their experience and motivation to engage in migration and refugee issues through youth work. The project’s overall educational objective was to develop participants’ youth work competences. Specific objectives include: - To train participants in the use of Not Just Numbers Manual - To reflect on realities of refugees and migrants in partner countries and the impact of the refugee crisis on young people - To develop campaign activities on the theme of migration and asylum countering xenophobia, radicalisation, Islamophobia and intolerance - To work on joint future projects addressing the refugee and migration crisisWorking methods: IOM campaign materials, IOM/UNHCR Not Just Numbers Manual, complemented by non-formal learning methods including storytelling, small group work, energizers, ice-breakers, team-building and intercultural learning activities, trainer inputs, multimedia presentations, group discussions and presentations. Project outcomes were: increased skills, raised awareness, exchange of expertise and good practice among youth workers; increased number and quality of projects on migration and refugee issues.
