For this reason, SMEs need to stop expecting business to return to “normal.” There’s no going back to how it was anytime soon. Even before the pandemic and economic crisis, SMEs had been fighting a fierce battle against Amazon and other e-commerce players. Those challenges have now accelerated at staggering speed. The latest data from McKinsey (2021) shows that consumers are likely to keep the behaviours they’ve adopted amid stay-at-home orders, such as always more online shopping. Undoubtedly, as COVID-19 continues to be out of control, setting up a new company in these current times has its share of challenges and this is especially true for young people. Following, Entrepreneurship is Online (EIO) will tackle the challenges that COVID-19 brought to young people-aspiring entrepreneurs, namely, the pandemic has accelerated the process of digital transformation across almost all sectors of businesses, creating opportunities but also new barriers for young people. EIO will help young people to better leverage on digital tools and set an online presence to run their future business and create solutions to solve the problems of their communities so that they can have a chance to survive the crisis and even thrive in the long term. The future envisioned post-COVID is one where young people are prepared and enabled through technology to run their business in order to operate across the EU common market. However, even though young people of today are surrounded by digital technology, they are not equally equipped for their technology rich future: various kinds of digital divides still prevail in the society. In this sense, it is possible to find young people, who want to develop their own business, but lack completely online presence skills.<< Objectives >>Following, “Entrepreneurship is Online (EIO)” aims to promote entrepreneurial education by boosting key competences in digital marketing, online presence and branding among youth workers and young people in order to improve their entrepreneurial capacity to teach and learn about how to start new businesses and how to reach current markets online. EIO specific objectives:•To create educational tools and open educational resources (OERs) about entrepreneurship and online presence for youth workers and young people and so boosting their key competences•To upgrade pedagogical skills and qualifications of youth workers in the areas covered by the project (entrepreneurship and online presence)•To provide a pedagogical strategy for youth workers that will support them to facilitate learning processes on entrepreneurship through online presence and e-learning.EIO direct target groups:-youth workers which need support to upgrade their pedagogic approach and knowledge to deliver entrepreneurial programmes which include online presence education.-Young people, including the fewer opportunities one, which need more appropriate entrepreneurial education to develop their skills for opening a business.<< Implementation >>EIO partners will realize the following activities:• Kickoff Meeting (Denmark)• EIO Handbook (project result one)• First intermediate meeting (Italy)• E-learning programme (project result two)• First training event (C1, Cyprus)• Blended mobility of young people (C2, Denmark)• Second intermediate meeting (Cyprus)• Toolkit for youth workers (project result 3)• Second training event (C3, Italy)• Methodology Pack (project result 4)• Final conference (E1, Cyprus)• Final conference (E2, Denmark)• Final conference (E3, Spain)• Final conference (E4, Denmark)• Final meeting (Spain)• Dissemination and Communication activities. The following methodology will be applied: Plan, Do, Check, Act. This aims to constantly monitor the project advancement and to ensure permanent quality improvement. This methodology also mean that steps must be realized in time bound manner as any lateness or missing parts can have direct influence on other partner work. Feedbacks will be used for the continuous improvement of the project, using the PDCA method (plan, do, check, act).<< Results >>At local level and regional level:-Partner organisations will bring the good practices and knowledge acquired to life through the implementation of new activities and programme fostering the entrepreneurial and digital skills of young people.-Improved quality and access to youth entrepreneurial training for young people with fewer opportunities. Young people will improve their digital skills and so will be able to set an online presence for their business and create value for all their community. -Inclusion of the EIO Handbook (PR1) and of the two competences frameworks for youth workers and young people, E-learning programme (PR2), Toolkit for youth workers (PR3), Methodology Pack (PR4) into the existing curricula of local and regional youth entities and other interested stakeholders, for starting offering support to young people – aspiring entrepreneurs. At national level:-The e-learning programme (PR2) and the Moodle online platform will engage relevant stakeholders in the process and introducing them to the benefits of the open learning and specifically with respect to entrepreneurship and online business presence. -To raise the discussion on the necessity to add on the mission of youth education also the duty to support young people – aspiring entrepreneurs not just in acquiring entrepreneurial skills but also digital skills that will help them once open their business to survive and success.-Inclusion of the EIO project results into the existing curricula of national youth organizations/institutions, as an additional training section focused on supporting entrepreneurs.-Better use of EU funding with an increased number of projects supporting young people – aspiring entrepreneurs etc.At European level:-Increased European competitiveness and contribution to the acceleration of economic growth through the improvement of tools linked to entrepreneurship and business creation support, helping young people in all stages of their business life cycle, avoiding that they will lost business opportunities because of the lack of an online presence and so supporting the capacity of young people to engage in growth in regional, national and international markets. -The two competence framework created for youth workers and young people (part of PR1), will provide a set of competences (knowledge, skills and personal abilities) needed in order to reach an adequate level of “command” in the online presence and entrepreneurship. -The developed multilingual PRs and e-learning programme (PR2) in English and partners languages will allow worldwide accessibility to EIO project results and so foster the use of project results a transnational level.-An increased awareness of the role that youth education can play in helping young people – aspiring entrepreneurs to face the economic crisis generated by COVID-19.

Having so many different cultures coexisting together in Europe has become a problem and there is an obvious growth of racist and xenophobic ideas and attitudes. In an economically and socially challenging moment for Europe, it is important to stress that diversity should be treasured and promoted. Young people who are behind of this project believe that intercultural dialogue, learning and communication are the best tools to promote tolerance and cultural acceptance. In addition, combining these with outdoor activities, such as sports or camping, will lead to a better and healthier lifestyle.Caring such experience with the variety of cultures, histories, religions, colours, symbols and vivid human communication, we brought new inspiration and laid the ground for this two-stage project ""Stay healthy in a multicultural society""'. The discussion of idea began during a youth exchange in Denmark back in 2019. Its development continued by an assigned working group – together with our trusted partner from Italy, where all the content of the program and participants' prime interests and needs were in focus.“Stay healthy in a multicultural society” was a 2-stage youth exchange which took place in Denmark and in Italy in the second part of 2021. The project delivered a better understanding of European values and identity to 71 youngsters (in total, for both stages) coming from no less than six different EU countries: Denmark, Lithuania, Italy, Slovakia, Poland and Romania. Nonetheless, this project was a joint venture of young people with different backgrounds who live in different European countries and believe that multicultural dialogue and healthy lifestyle are the keys for a bright future. Each of the project's activities corresponded to two thematically interlinked sections/activities:1. Inter-cultural dialogue2. Active life styleIn line with Erasmus+ requirements, the whole project’s general objectives were the following:- to improve foreign language competences;- to promote participation in democratic life in Europe and partner countries, in the labour market, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity;- to increase motivation for taking part in non-formal education;- to foster social inclusion and the active participation of young people in society;- to promote European citizenship’s values;- to foster quality improvements in youth field;- to enhance further cooperation;- to promote mobility and capacity building. This multi-stage youth exchange was fully based on the principles of active participation and non-formal education. The needs, interests and experiences of participants were taken into account in the first place. Participants had the opportunity to make personal contributions and were encouraged to take the initiative. Non-formal learning methods such as workshops, role plays and excursions were used to promote active participation and learning and understanding each other’s cultures. The methodological approach was consequently based on the principles of non-formal learning in general together with active participation and involvement. An emphasis was laid on outdoor activities, such as sports, camping, physical exercises and healthy food, especially in the second stage of the project.Outlining the most important goals of each of the stages, they were as follows:Youth exchange in Denmark, 14-24th July 2021 (1st stage):- raising awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries;- critically explore the meaning and relevance of European citizenship in youngsters' life;- encouraging inter-cultural dialogue, multicultural diversity and social inclusion;- expanding knowledge on the notions of acceptance and tolerance.Youth exchange in Italy, 4-14th September 2021: (2nd stage):- promoting healthy behaviours and active lifestyles, in particular through the promotion of the practice of outdoor activities and grassroots sports;- sharing experiences and encouraging new youth intiatives;- boosting motivation for taking part in non-formal education activities;- increasing self-empowerment and self-esteem;- enhancing further cooperation within the Erasmus+ field.Besides these, simulation games and discussions related to culture and behavior norms were carried out, creating an interesting and attractive way on how to learn about cultural differences and diversity. During both stages of this youth exchange participants learned about intercultural communication and dialogue as well. In addition, the youngsters became more familiar with sports, outdoor exercises and were strongly encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle.Last but not least, the overall project activities also encouraged friendships, establishment of new partnerships and cooperation relationships among project participants and promoter organizations.<< Implementation >>Our activities and learning outcomes of this two-stage project were in full accordance with objectives set at the application stage, as it follows below:A1. Youth Exchange in Denmark (14-24th July, 2021)In the very beginning, the first day was filled with ice-breakers and trust-building activities. In addition, we explained the rules of the project and made a short presentation of the organizing team. We also highlighted the expectations, contributions and fears of the participants in connection to the project. Moving on to the next days, we put the focus on the intercultural dialogue, together with exploring the different sides of democracy. The highlights were ""Diversity of values perception"" game and ""Values Pyramid"" activity, in which participants had the chance to discuss their own set of values. Also, we raised awareness on how these come in accordance with the EU values.Furthermore, we organized a thematic workshop about democracy and active citizenship. The youngsters analyzed the current situation in their countries and shared their opinions and experiences related to the topic. In this way, participants had the chance to discuss the varying characteristics of active citizenship in their countries. Later on, we carried out a complex simulation game called ""Scramble for Wealth and Power"". The main objective of the game was to develop an understanding of the injustices that result from the unequal distribution of wealth and power, together with promoting the respect for human dignity. Moreover, we had a full day dedicated to a cultural trip to Aarhus city. The group visited a couple of cultural objectives in the city, combining it with free time for participants to explore the surroundings. This created strong tights between participants. In addition, the youngsters had the chance to interact with the local Danish population and therefore enrich their intercultural experience.A2. Youth Exchange in Italy (04-14th September, 2021)The second stage in Italy started with team-building activities and getting to know one another. However, half of the participants already met in the first stage in Denmark and therefore they quickly got along with each other. Most of the scheduled activities went as initially planned. The youngsters had daily physical activities combined with studying sessions. They joined outdoor activities such as yoga and morning gymnastics, combined with afternoon jogging. Also they had the chance to go rock-climbing for a couple of hours, accompanied by a professional instructor. On the other side, our youths were intellectually stimulated by indoors learning sessions focused on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and how this can have an impact their personal and professional life. As a result, the participants were made aware of the fact that even small steps and achievements may lead to increase of self-esteem, self-development and eventually – personal progress. Moreover, they had the chance to present their organizations within the NGO fair, organized in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. We believe that this activity opened the path to new partnerships between organisations, contributing to the overall goal of the project. On top of this, our partners from Italy managed to arrange a cultural trip to ""Sassi di Matera"" which is an UNESCO heritage place, boosting in this way the cultural knowledge of the participants.Last but not least, reflection groups were organized daily, in the same way as in the first stage. Also, the participants had the chance to present their countries during the Intercultural Evenings, where they performed traditional dances and served various snacks.Since one of the aims of this project was to facilitate learning and opinion building through personal exchange, we planned a reasonable group size. Therefore, we had 37 youths for the youth exchange in Denmark and 35 youngsters for the Italy stage. They were split equally between all the partner organizations, including the group leaders and facilitators. It is important to mention that we had some participants with less privileged social-economic backgrounds. Our organization offered them a small financial incentive in order to make their participation in the project possible. As we promoted multicultural diversity, we encouraged participation of representatives of minorities as well.Summing up, the general background and profile of our participants included the following characteristics:-commitment to the project idea;-a deep interest in gaining knowledge about European Union;-open to intercultural dialogue and learning new things about other cultures;-willingness of developing a healthy lifestyle;-openness to outdoor activities, such as jogging, rock-climbing and gymnastics;-a strong will to improve their interpersonal and professional qualifications;-motivation to learn from the other participants;-tolerance and open-minded approach towards different cultures and backgrounds.<< Results >>As we previously expected, the project had an impact on all our stakeholders. First and foremost, the youth exchange had a positive impact on participants' English language skills. Since multilingualism is viewed as a cornerstone of youth professional development, this was a very important step forward for our youngsters. In addition, another type of impact worth mentioning was the networking aspect. The participants expanded their connections, which we strongly believe it would lead to improved career prospects and job opportunities on the long-run.Nonetheless, the cooperation between the coordinating organization (Danish Youth Team) and the partner organization from Italy (Beyond Borders), which helped with the implementation of the second stage, brought a positive impact on the long-term professional relations. In addition, the mobility positively impacted the target groups, which were students, trainees, young people and volunteers. Among others, they were made aware of how European Union works and its multicultural environment. In addition, the project served as a bridge between young people coming from different educational backgrounds, encouraging the establishment of new projects and direct partnerships between the different groups represented by the partner organizations which joined this project. Overall, it is important to mention that a high awareness of the European values is critical when it comes for being a citizen of EU. Therefore, this counted as a main goal of this project which was fully achieved through the workshops and seminars on this topic listed and explained in the activities section. In the same time, participants increased their sense of initiative and competitiveness. This would further help them to make the most of the available opportunities on the labor market and not only. Enhanced intercultural awareness represented another point of impact of this project. Participants learned about other cultures and traditions, expanding in this way their general knowledge. In the same time, they managed to get a basic understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity. Nevertheless, as a long-term goal, the youths were expected to familiarize with non-formal teaching methods, and also to increase their motivation for taking part in future mobility projects under the Erasmus+ programme. Moreover, the youngsters were encouraged to develop a healthy lifestyle by participating in outdoor activities that were expected to boost their physical form. Nevertheless, as a lang-term goal, the youths were expected to familiarize with non-formal teaching methods, and also to increase their motivation for taking part in future mobility projects. In addition, the results were disseminated across the aforementioned target group and thus youngsters were encouraged to work on their own project ideas and follow up. Last but not least, we strongly believe that this project encouraged the participants to foster new friendships and build a solid network across Scandinavian, Mediterranean, Baltic, Central European and Balkan countries. Last but not least, the results of the project were disseminated across a well-defined target group and thus youngsters were encouraged to work on their own project ideas and follow up.Furthemore, more than half of the total number of participants joined both youth exchanges, establishing a deep and long-lasting friendship that will continue for a long time after the project lifecycle ends. This is definitely a positive impact on our youngsters by creating intercultural friends and expanding their network through the Erasmus+ programme and its activities. Looking at the participant organizations, the main objective was to increase their capacity to trigger changes in terms of International opening. In other words, expanding their network and offering the youths a wide range of opportunities to be active participants in various projects. Networking is very important nowadays, and this multi-stage youth exchange was an excellent place to add more value to it. Inside the organisation, the project managed to create a more modem, dynamic and professional environment. This included integration of good practices and new methods into daily activities."
