This network aims, above all, to bridge the gap between higher education and the business world, promoting the mobility of science, through the insertion of students and recent graduates in an effective work context. This network is transdisciplinary, as it integrates the areas of the humanities, social sciences and health sciences, providing the development of skills to trainees that allow them to enter the job market more qualified, with a multicultural experience, with linguistic and digital skills, also sharing the values of European citizenship, respect for the values of decent work, in line with the 2030 UN Agenda.Teachers and staff from the consortium institutions will also be able to enjoy short-term mobility. These mobilities allow them to improve their professional performance and adopt improvements in their workplace and even update the academic curricula, approaching the HEI’s with the world of work and business. Finally, 2H2S stimulates the internationalization of the “Centro” region of Portugal, especially in what concerns the promotion of the mobility of qualified people, and contributes to the qualification of professionals and graduates by meeting the expectations of future employers, enterprises and organizations.

Thus, not only because it confers a broader education to the beneficiaries that goes beyond the classroom but also because it has a very positive impact in the institution as a whole. In this framework, the UC has an objective to increase the number of mobilities either in outbound or inbound following entirely the commitments contained in the ECHE which are also embedded in all the procedures of the Quality Management System of the UC. The good results achieved by the project reflect the effort of a wide network of people that permitted an increase of 29% of mobilities in relation to those allocated in the contract. There was an excellent interaction between the centralized management at the International Relations Unit and the different Faculties and Departments, as well as a big investment in the face-to-face interaction with the candidates. Mobility has been growing in a sustainable way although that increase in not totally reflected in the final result of this project in part due to the existence of a specific project for ERASMUS mobilities for traineeship.
