The approach defines a concept of operations that envisages accelerated delivery of situational awareness through an ensemble of embedded sensors, drones, standoff detectors (including cameras), artificial intelligence for processing sensor signals and web-traffic from social media, and centralised command and control. Wireless traceability of casualties provides dynamic mapping including medical care. 2 field exercises are intended to test and verify the operational attributes of the systems, and 3 WPs focus on impact to deliver: Exploitation; Security and Ethics; and Effective Innovation Management. Distinctive technological attributes of TOXI-triage include: rapid non-invasive assessment of exposure/ injury through monitoring metabolic markers of injury; managing and exploiting the semantic web; traceability by design; aptamer-based bio-sensing; casualty-to-discharge system integration; and integrated environmental and stand-off hazard designation. The approach is rigorous with clinical trials to test systems in poisoning clinics and live agent tests in laboratories designated by the UN’s OPCW. Distinctive societal attributes of TOXI-triage include: addressing the needs of all vulnerable groups; optimising inter-cultural/ethnic messages and needs in CBRN response; fostering economic impact by multiple-uses for all the project’s systems. TOXI-triage intends that its outcomes will be used routinely in medical/environmental/urban and search and rescue emergencies. The benefits are intended to extend significantly further then enhanced CBRN resilience

Far from being a simple aggregation of entities separated geographically and with complementary expertise, INCLUDING pursues to develop a Federation in which individual Members will cooperate together to provide a common framework to standardize access to their respective facilities, enhance interoperability and to allow a more intensive use of expensive equipment. The operative tool to manage the Federation will be a web-based platform with a sophisticated architecture and whose functionality has been proven in a previous EU project. At the same time the project aims to enhance practical know-how and to boost a European sustainable training and development framework for practitioners in the Radiological and Nuclear Security sector. The INCLUDING project will be flexible in order to include new facilities and innovation in technology, organizations and procedures. The plurality of facilities and expertise in the INCLUDING Federation reflects the complex and intertwined structure of the prevention and response phases of RN threats and will provide to the practitioners a set of real or emulated scenarios where to test concept of operations in a controlled environment. The Joint Actions will be the focal points of the project. They are multidisciplinary field exercises, tabletop exercises, training, serious gaming and simulation organized at their premises by the project partners and with the objective of demonstrating the added value of the Federated scheme and of the use of an innovative tool like the INCLUDING web based Platform to manage a pan European network of training facilities and resources.

They further show that young Europeans living in rural communities have greater disadvantages on average when it comes to access to education, employment opportunities, creating new businesses and lack of basic services and infrastructure than their counterparts in towns and cities. By offering young people the opportunity to influence the development in their communities and engaging them in locally important actions, out-migration can be prevented and long-term living opportunities where these young people can fulfill their potential can be realized. Despite comprehensive strategies at European level on youth and multiple financial initiatives to support rural youth the out-migration continues – young people who leave their communities do not return.Engaging Rural Youth (ENGAGE) is a 29 month project aiming at supporting rural youth getting involved with rural development. ENGAGE´s objective is to equip all 12-13 year old young people (7th graders) in rural communities in four European countries with the necessary tools, competences and skills for them to actively participate in future decision-making in their communities and have a meaningful engagement in the implementation of various actions related to rural development. This will be done through their participation in a four-week ENGAGE learning course. During this course participants will discuss topics related to rural development and the revitalization and sustainability of rural communities. They will further, both individually and in groups, work on developing innovative ideas to support rural development and strengthen their communities. These ideas will be presented to local community stakeholders at the end of the course and the winning idea(-s) will be explored further or directly put into action within the community. The pupils will also host a public meeting built on a youth council format where they will share their ideas for the future development of their community and how their voice could be come a permanent voice in the local decision-making process. The learning will be integrated into the annual school programme for 7th graders to ensure participation of all pupils in the cohort, including those who are vulnerable and possibly marginalized from their peers. Stakeholders in the community, representatives of businesses, non-profit organisations and decision-makes will also have a role in the implementation and follow-up activities. The ENGAGE learning model consists of a four-week learning module with a set of weekly modules aimed at developing competences among pupils to actively participate in the future in decision-making procedures in their communities as well as competences/skills related he development of innovative projects (entrepreneurship). It also includes a Handbook for Teachers which explains the background of the course, pedagogical strategy and methods for implementation and guidelines and activities related to discussion of themes, the development of innovative projects (entrepreneurship activities) and setting up youth decision-making bodies. The Handbook further contains methods for evaluation and descriptors that can be used for assessing whether the level of competences that should be attained during the course have been reached. The material will be made available on paper and as an eBook.During the project the ENGAGE learning model will be piloted twice in the participating countries. Based on feedback, the materials and methods for implementation will be adapted. A comprehensive assessment of the materials, the piloting and short-and long-term impact will further be delivered as part of the project.

The members of the meetings are mostly the mayors, members of the municipal councils and other managers of the municipal field. The aim is to improve the participation of young people in town-twinning and in municipal decision-making. At the same time our goal is to strengthen dialogue between young people and decision-makers. At the beginning the common topics are the climate change and sustainable growht. There are four Nordic municipalities involved: Mikkeli /Finland (applicant organisation), Borås/Sweden, Vejle/Denmark and Molde/Norway.We will hold a planning meeting in 2020 and a youth meeting in 2021. The themes of the meetings are built around participation. The activities will be refined after the planning meeting, when young people will be able to prepare a more detailed program in Nordic cooperation. The participatory methods are going to be used during the whole project. We are creating a town-twinning model where formal meetings between decision-makers and mayors will take on new dimensions as young people become more involved.

We wanted to develop methods that would help us to work better with young people, to see what this situation looks like in other institutions abroad, what their experiences are in this area.Expected project objectives: - To develop the skills of building sustainable relationships, integration with young people in youth workers;- to increase the ability to apply non-formal education in youth work;- to gain institutional experience in the field of international cooperation<< Implementation >>As part of the project, four activities were carried out. The first was study visits to the project partners: 3 study visits of representatives of our institution to the Library in Mikkeli (Finland), the Library in Huesca (Spain), the Library in Tallinn (Estonia). Each study visit was attended by 5 representatives of the institution. Participants included the project coordinator, the director of the institution and staff (librarians, animators, youth workers). The final point of the project was a study visit to our institution by representatives of the partner countries in Poland. A total of 6 people took part in the study visit - 3 people from the Tallinn Library, 2 people from the Huesca Library, one person virtually (online connection) from the Mikkeli Library. The people from the partners participating in the study visit in Poland were mainly librarians and people who work with young people in their institutions in the country.<< Results >>Through the implementation of the project, we were able to achieve the following results: - organisation of 4 study visits (3 visits of representatives of our institution to partner countries and their institutions and 1 study visit of project partners in Poland, at our institution);5 study visits were planned in the project but due to problems and lack of communication with one of the partners (Croatia) it was withdrawn from the project and the visit did not take place.- Participation in study visits of 21 persons (5 persons in each study visit to partners and 5 persons in study visit to Poland, to our institution);- Increased knowledge of non-formal methods, tools that can be used in youth work at our institution;- increasing knowledge and skills of those working with young people how to plan activities for young people, how to encourage them to use library services;- learning in practice about the activities, initiatives carried out by our foreign partners and adapting them to our local area;- increased communication skills in English among the staff of our institution;- increased knowledge of other European countries, their culture or traditions;- increasing the significance of the institution, raising its prestige thanks to the implementation of an international project; The realisation of the project contributed to the fact that we were able to learn how cooperation with young people looks like in other foreign institutions, how they encourage young people to use their offers, what methods they use. The activities conducted in the project - study visits were both lessons, workshops, but also an exchange of knowledge and experiences of the participating partners. People participating in the visits acquired this knowledge not only in a theoretical way, through lectures or discussions, but also during practical methods, participating in selected activities and observing them. The project increased the competences of youth workers in our institution. They were able to see that it is worth stepping out of the usual patterns, which do not bring results when it comes to youth work. They were able to see various other ways, above all non-formal education, which can be used. The project changed the perception of youth work in our institution and helped to plan better and more effective activities with young people.
