An active citizenship simulation ""is an international exchange addressed to young people with disabilities and without. In collaboration with ROMANIA, MONTENEGRO, KOSOVO, MALTA, ITALY, historical partners of our association with whom we have worked in various social sectors; refugees, migrants, Roma minorities, projects against LGBTQ discrimination and gender differences. From these experiences the need to realize this project was born. There are many requests from young people to meet, understand and live together the limits and possibilities in the encounter with disability. This project provided opportunities for young with disabilities and not, living in marginal situations, which do not have the possibility to move safely, to meet in a protected environment to discover the prejudices that dwell in all of us and free us from the stereotypes arising from cultural heritage.Strengthened by the collaboration and the seriousness of the partners, and in adherence with the association's mission, international exchange allowed the new European generations to nourish a more open, broad, and comprehensive awareness. The project has been an active citizenship simulation, this proposal was an idea that has its own optimum realization by young Europeans from different countries and with different abilities, gave them a chance to experiment and live with participation personal paths according to the different skills that are inherent in all of us.The goal was to experiment, in the simulation of active citizenship, the encounter with disability, contact and the search for commonalities and the abatement of stereotypes and fears towards the ""different from us"".The concept of inclusion leads to the recognition of a right as a form of contrast to its opposite: exclusion. The project included 2 activities. The first activity of the project, the APV, took place at the House laboratory Cerquosino on 5/6/7 October 2018 and was attended by the leaders of the groups that will participate in the exchange. On this occasion, the leaders took care of the program of activities prepared with their own participants and find a connection between the various contributions. The partners brought all the proposals and requests of the young participants and evaluated them together. On this occasion the partners shared the problems of the groups that will accompany especially for the particularly delicate situations to take into account, considering the target group. The second activity of the project, the international youth exchange took place at the house laboratory Cerquosino from 22nd to 30th of November 2018, attended by 20 young people with disabilities and not, 5 leaders and 2 accompanying person. The simulated metaphor placed its bases on the concept of a ""neo born clan"" is organized, growing, working, sharing rules, needs, goals and paths.Within the exchange, participants managed both the place of the exchange and the activities to be carried out.The goal was to share from the beginning to enhance the youth resource promoting and strengthening opportunities for autonomy and proper leadership, taking the young man as the subject of planning and actionAnother goal was to develop, according to the model of experimentation, a context of protected residency where people with physical and intellectual disabilities, in collaboration with peers able-bodied, can acquire the necessary skills to the management of daily domestic life, become familiar with the manual, express themselves artistically, with the maximum degree of possible autonomy and possible security. The dimensions of learning and skills were many: Research and experimentation of the rules of shared environments, Work in teams, Manual skills, knowing how to reuse and recycle objects and materials, Enhancing the ability to communicate in a foreign language, Peer education, Concrete participation in the organization, to live together in groups, Personal achievement, Knowledge and information on other cultures, Dealing with conflicts and manage them in a perspective of transformation, Knowing how to promote actions based on the design, Take into account various points of view, bringing them back to a shared synthesis, Anticipate obstacles and make decisions, make choices, Value the relationship with the other, perceived as a resource for growth both individual and social."

It was addressed to social workers, volunteers and activists dealing with helping relations with young disabled and with young pople with fewer opportunities, refugees and migrants with or without disability. 3 actions were carried out: a mobility for Youth workers in November 2019, and two youth exchanges: one in February 2020 and because of the pandemic emergency, second youth exchange was held in October 2021.The project, provided new tools, new methodologies the social workers involved in the integration of people with disability and fewer opportunities, The project has provided social workers on the integration of people with disabilities and with fewer opportunities, new tools and new methodologies to effectively implement skills in helping relationships and refine strategies. The objective has expanded during the two youth exchanges, where we dedicated in the relationship between youngsters with and without disabilities. All the work was facilitated by the non-formal education, that, thanks to its new, innovative and versatile approach, facilitated through methodologies based on theatre of oppressed techniques and integrated theatre, all the creative processes of each participants without leaving anyone behind. The project not only allowed participants with disabilities to relate outside known contexts, with people from all over Europe, but also and above all allowed young people without disabilities to compete with what is often a taboo, a difficult approach, a prejudice. We can say that we reached the maximum of the goals we set: knowledge, inclusion, relationships among peers, beyond disability, healthy and authentic relationships, connections that we know, continue even after the end of the project. New friends, new possibilities, new Partner to create solidarity networks and deep listening.During the simulated active citizenship, the participants concretely promoted inclusive processes, reaching the awareness of their own value, the strength of their ideas; they experienced availability and flexibility by collaborating with each other, overcoming moments of difficulty in an open and constructive way, going over limits and borders.<< Implementation >>the project was divided into three specific moments: a training for trainers lasting 7 days of activity which involved the following countries; Italy, Romania, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia, Turkey, Croatia and Albania. As per email communication addressed to Dr. Pignocco Luca on November 6, 2019 there was a change of partner, Greece to replace Spain, unable to participate.Action A1 TC 22 participants involved:Trainer and facilitators support staff: n. 41 trainer from Artemide Association, Italy1 trainer from Centre for Civic Education (CCE), Montenegro1 facilitator from ONG THY Kosovo1 support staff Artemide Association, ItalyParticipants 18All participants were active people within their associations. Participants with disability: 6: 4 from Italy, 2 from Kosovo. As planned, the group presented young people with disabilities and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, for some of them it was not only the first Erasmus project, but the project was the first opportunity for a mobility outside their own Country.<< Results >>The project “the whole is more than the sum of the single parts; extra-ordinary journey into the dis-abilities”, thanks to the different actions, reached excellent results in different levels: local, national and international. In addition to the effective impact on participants during the whole actions. In particular:LOCAL, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL LEVELThe project strengthened and focused a lot on networking among all the partners, it connected different subjects both from the Orvieto area, social cooperatives, local but also national and European associations. It created new networks and strengthened the existing ones. In addition to the direct beneficiaries, it involved indirect beneficiaries through specially dedicated meetings and days. In a local level, during the TC, we met the Amleto in Viaggio association that deals with integrated theatre with disabled people. The participants in the TC, could interact directly both with youngsters and the social workers and start new collaboration. In our project there was a social cooperative from Torino that participated in all the 3 action, and the interaction with Amleto in viaggio was very fruitful both in the exchanging the information and the work methodologies.During the youth exchange, because of the restriction due to the pandemic situation, it was not possible to visit the local institution for the dissemination and immediate confirmation of collaboration. But, in this occasion, the Mayor of the Municipality of Parrano, with a negative covid test, came to visit un in the Casa Laboratorio Il Cerquosino, to meet the participants and listen to their stories, share their work and imagine possible future projects together.EUROPEAN AND INTERNATIONAL LEVELThe project is a part of the Mission of our association: create networks, mobility, learning context through replicable methodologies. Involving young people with disabilities, young people with fewer opportunities from different European countries, confirmed once again that it is not just an idea to be implemented, but that it is an achievable action. It is a necessary action especially after these two years of isolation due to the pandemic, allowing girls and boys coming from difficult backgrounds to meet and exchange experiences is an action that can and must be done, using the opportunity that the Erasmus + program offers. It was an exciting result for everyone.PARTICIPANTSFor all the social workers and the volunteers that participated in the TC, was a very rich and highly formative moment, an empowerment both on a personal level and at the level of restitution in their organizations to add to their daily work new and functional tools for the relationship both with young people with disabilities, but also in work in teams. They have honed their skills to facilitate and manage international groups with special needs. During the TC, we experimented some tools that they then used during the YEs. The topic of the project, the help relationship in relation to frailties and disabilities, saw us start directly from ourselves in an open and deep confrontation.Young people with disabilities and young people with fewer opportunities from disadvantaged social, family and geographical backgrounds participated in the international exchanges. PARTNER ORGANIZATIONAll organizations have developed new skills in relation to the approach to disability, but not only, they have developed sensitivity, interest and awareness that Erasmus + projects, in an integrated form, are a formidable inclusion approach for various disabilities. The partnership of the project, was studied and chosen related with the delicate topic of disability, with young with fewer opportunities with and without disability, with a competent and careful partnership, specialized social workers on disability issues, psychologists, and staff with experience in managing the needs of the participants. The partners involved expanded their experience in the European field, regarding mobility, organization and management of any difficulties that may arise before, during and after the project. As the reflection we had after the project n. 2018-2-IT03- KA105-014079 hold in November 2018, with this project we went deeper in the topic of inclusion of young people with disability, fewer opportunities, contexts of forced migration, in the Erasmus+ program.
