The initiative for Fostering DIHs for Embedding Interoperability in Cyber-Physical Systems of European SMEs (DIH4CPS) will help European enterprises overcome these innovation hurdles and establish Europe as a world leading innovator of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. DIH4CPS will create an embracing, interdisciplinary network of DIHs and solution providers, focussed on cyber-physical and embedded systems, interweaving knowledge and technologies from different domains, and connecting regional clusters with the pan-European expert pool of DIHs. Backed by the IVLab, an experienced and well-established network organisation focussed on Interoperability, DIH4CPS can innately build on an extensive existing network, add value to its existing knowledge transfer capabilities and guarantee the sustainability of the growing DIH network. DIH4CPS expands the already existing network and aims for creating an integrated platform for DIHs from different, especially digitally underdeveloped sectors and regions. A selection of eleven initially starting application experiments guarantees an outstanding funding for European SMEs and Mid-Caps right from the start and demonstrates the high dedication of the consortium to reduce the digital divide. At least ten additional experiments will take up that torch during the project and allow external companies from sectors in need to further exploit the DIH4CPS network and uplift their portfolio, especially by including (semi)-autonomy into their products and systems. DIH4CPS will not only benefit the application experiments but also the individual DIHs by significantly complementing the regional investments made. Implemented in the IVLab structure, the DIH4CPS Network will leverage and sustain its impact far beyond the project duration, creating a vibrant, overarching and cross sector one-stop-shop for collaboration between SMEs, DIHs and Tech providers.

In Transit aims to strengthen the resilience of textile, aerospace and construction SMEs towards greener and more digital sectors with social and business model, with a mixed support mechanism including individual assessment support and a lump sum and coaching to ensure their consolidation and sustainability. In Transit will provide an open online collaborative platform involving innovation actors from the aerospace, construction, and textile sectors that will serve as a space for sharing best practices and as a matchmaking system for new ideas for innovation and circular economy and new collaboration partnerships. Foster cross-regional and cross-sectoral links with dedicated learning visits in combination with innovation workshops and matchmakings to establish the seed for collaboration among sectors by identifying potential partners for commercial and innovation cooperation that will ultimately generate growth opportunities for SMEs Increase resilience of SMEs by supporting their transition to more sustainable business models financing of a feasibility study, prototyping, pilot testing, demonstrating, procurement of further specialized consultancy services and coaching services that cannot be provided directly by the project partners, an adaptation of business processes, option to access to DIHs testing facilities, the introduction of new IT solutions, and social innovation strategies. Scale-up support to leverage additional funds. In Transit will connect successful SMEs with other initiatives for scaling up the innovations. IN TRANSIT will allocate 4 M€ directly for SME support out of 5M€ (80% of total budget) In Transit partnership will allow to reach directly (as cluster members) 700 SMEs, 140 large companies and over 150 research facilities across 7 EU-countries, and indirectly over 5.000 SMEs across 38+ countries though EU-wide networks and European Strategic Cluster Partnerships.

DIH^2 is a network of 26 DIHs, with a target to reach over 170 DIHs. The sole aim of the network is to spark incremental (cut 50% cost of advance robotics solutions, double the growth of robotics market) and disruptive (maximum productivity & optimum agility) innovations in over 300,000 Manufacturing SMEs and Mid-Caps. It will support SMEs in their Agile Production challenge (50% increase in productivity) and unleash their digitalization potential by enabling robot solutions that are more cost effective at lower lot sizes. DIH^2 relies on: • A Common Open Platform Reference Architecture for Agile Production (COPRA-AP) -based on Industrial Data Space Reference Architecture Model and FIWARE technologies- to serve the needs of SMEs by means of a continuously growing set of Robotic-based Open Standard Enablers (ROSE-AP). • A marketplace as one-stop-shop for SMEs to access essential services for digital transformation including business modelling, technical support, access to skills and finance. • 2 competitive Open Calls to launch an ambitious Technology Transfer Program with 260 Agility Audits, 26 cross-border Technology Transfer Experiments and 26 ROSE-AP, leveraging over 26M€ of public & private funding in advance robotics solutions for Agile Production. • Members deeply rooted in their regional Smart Specialization Strategy (bringing €5M additional funding on top of EU funds), ensuring ‘working distance’ services for every SME in Europe - whichever the sector, wherever the location, whatever the size. • A Corporate Sponsorship Program from equipment and automation suppliers committed with the network to get access to wider market and latest research in robotics. DIH^2 will transform this network into a self-sustainable non-profit association with members all over Europe. DIH^2 will demonstrate that public funded research can help SMEs & Mid-Caps achieve digital excellence and global competitiveness through adopting advanced robotics solutions in Agile Production.

The MANU-SQUARE project creates a European platform-enabled responsible ecosystem acting as a virtual marketplace, bringing available manufacturing capacity closer to production demand to achieve their optimal matching thus fostering, on the one hand, fast and efficient creation of local and distributed value networks for innovative providers of product-services and, on the other hand, reintroduction and optimization in the loop of unused capacity that would be wasted otherwise. In a wider perspective the MANU-SQUARE project pursues a paradigm shift that disrupts the traditional static supply chain model and establishes dynamic value networks that can be arranged on-demand to couple the needs of buyers and the availability of sellers of manufacturing capacity. In so doing, this latter becomes an easily and efficiently tradable commodity towards lowered production costs for European companies and improved manufacturing ecosystem actual productivity.

GALACTICA aims to bring Europe to the forefront of textile and aerospace GALACTICA aims to support the creation of new industrial value chains around textile and aerospace based on advanced manufacturing across EU to throttle growth and employment of the future by the development of long-term internationally competitive goods and services that require combining different competences and innovative solutions. This way, GALACTICA will empower Industrial intelligent systems or Industrial Internet of Things as part of the strategic alignment with President Juncker priorities on strategic emerging value chains for Europe towards 2030 as outcome of the High-level industrial roundtable. GALACTICA’s strategy is: 1. Cultivation within an open collaboration space focused on supporting SMEs to change the mindset about digitalization and empower them to start partnerships. 2. A set of dedicated grants complemented with coaching and technological vouchers to assess the feasibility and small technical tests aimed at minimum viable products of a new value chain. 3. Large scale demo of the new value chain with dedicated grant for SME consortia with coaching and technological support. 4. Scale-up support to leverage additional funds. GALACTICA will connect successful SMEs with private investors and other initiatives for scaling up the innovations. In total, 4M€ (79% of budget) will be dedicated to SMEs through diverse vouchers to support technological innovation and value chain creation. New value chains will find synergies with RIS3 policies through partners’ active participation in different S3 Thematic platforms on industrial modernization and S3 Vanguard Initiative pilots (3DP, ESM and RegioTex). GALACTICA partnership will allow to reach directly (as cluster members) 1.400 SMEs, 170 large companies and over 200 research facilities across 8 EU-countries, and indirectly over 7.000 SMEs across 38+ countries though EU-wide networks and European Strategic Cluster Partnerships.
