assignment_turned_in ProjectPartners:UNIVERSIDADE DO PORTOUNIVERSIDADE DO PORTOFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2015-1-PT01-KA103-012470Funder Contribution: 1,254,020 EURThe 2015-1-PT01-KA103-012470 project, coordinated by U.PORTO, was built with the objective of positively contributing to the process of internationalization of the University through the opening of new opportunities for mobility for students, graduates, professors and staff. As the 2nd individual Erasmus+ Project, the previous experience has brought enormous gains to the extent that it was an opportunity to promote the internal reflection about the results obtained with the implementation of KA103 Erasmus+ Projects at the University of Porto since the beginning of the Programme (in 2014).This process of reflection was widely extended in so far it involved the International Relations Office but also departments that, within the U.Porto, are somehow involved in the implementation of mobility projects, such as Financial, IT Academic Affairs. This inclusive approach has led to innovative ideas and perspectives that will allow the U.Porto to positively meet the challenges brought by the new programme. In quantitative terms, the project not only met, but surpassed the best expectations, both in terms of financial implementation, which is practically on 100% of the total execution of the budget assigned to the project, and in terms of implementation of the mobility flows, with an execution of nearly 20% above the assigned.Effectively, within the framework of this project, U.Porto got approved for funding by the National Agency for Erasmus+, 745 mobility flows and it managed to implement a total of 887 mobility flows, without additional financial support. This extremely positive result was translated into an increase of almost 1/5 of the whole project, considering the total number of mobility flows/scholarships awarded. It is also noteworthy to mention that U.Porto, observing the provisions in its internationalization strategy, which states the importance of consolidation of cooperation in the framework of the European Higher Education Area, have managed to unambiguously contribute to achieve this goal through this project. The high number of selected partners and the correspondence between the academic offer of the partners and the profile of the applicants (taking into account the priority areas and target groups: in the definition of the mobility activities of staff and students and graduates of first, second and third cycles of study), constituted the basis that turned out to be of the utmost importance for the positive results achieved. This solid base enabled the successful implementation of the mobility activities in almost all programme countries, thus reaching a great geographical diversity. The acquired know-how with the implementation of this project, in particular what result from the proximity and the work with the partner institutions, enterprises and other organizations, along with the different competencies of the institutions involved, offered a broad spectrum of opportunities and complementarities that lead to a richness and an impact that will surely be sense beyond the future of this project. These positive results will be definitely transferred to future initiatives so as to ensure the sustainability of cooperation links established under this project and creating multiplier effects that will last in time. It is a tremendous pleasure to close this project in such positive way, in a year absolutely striking for the Erasmus+ Programme on the occasion of the celebration of its 30 years of existence.
