As mobility and, internationalization are of increasing importance in businesses and in vocational education, the culture of the BS WM needs to be adapted to this development. There are some drivers for the BS WM, especially the base vocational education of asylum seekers and refugees as well as the increase of immigrants in the apprenticeships, but also the ongoing globalization and internationalization of professional activities. This requires numerous changes to the school and the development of intercultural and linguistic skills of the teachers. In this context, we aim to DEVELOP an INTERNATIONALIZATION STRATEGY to develop guidelines for related tasks. The following goals in the field of internationalization are already set at present time:- Apprentices should receive additional offers to collect experience abroad.- Teachers are also expected to gain more experience abroad.- Europass documents are to be used more intensively in general subjects (German and social science).- Foreign language competence should be strengthened for our students by the use of international vocabulary in vocational subjects. We plan MOBILITY AND COOPERATION ACTIVITIES FOR TEACHERS AND LEARNERS The objectives of the respective activities are differentiated with regard to the short- and medium-term objectives and focus. For TEACHERS we plan three mobilities, each for 5 persons in a 5-day project:A1. EK / EPAL Kavala (Greece): In terms of fit of vocational focus and logistics, the chosen school proved to be excellent during our first project. This also results in the planned student mobility (see below). However, we intend to enable STUDENT MOBILITY in ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONS. We would like to get in the detail planning on-site with our relevant partners and to enhance the exchange of knowledge among the teaching staff.A2. Luksia (Finland): In Luksia school there is a dedicated internationalization strategy in place. In addition to the fit of vocational focus, Luksia shows a geographic / socioeconomic situation that is similar to the BS WM: here too, the school is located in a rural metropolitan area (here from Helsinki). We would like to learn from the experiences of the Finnish colleagues to detail the internationalization strategy of the BS WM with the gained knowledge in mind. In particular the department of construction / woodworking will benefit from this mobility as Luksia enjoys an excellent reputation, especially in the area of timber construction, and thus offers the opportunity for future mobilities for learners in this area.A3. ROC Mondriaan (Netherlands): This school is characterized by an exceptionally advanced internationalization strategy with the corresponding measures. Here too, we would like to learn from the experiences of our colleagues to allign our internationalization approach. In addition in a preliminary project, specific areas could be identified, which would be ideally suited for future exchange activities: carpenters, painters and automotive mechatronics. These possible mobilities should be planned in detail on-site.B. STUDENTSThe focus of the project is clearly the MOBILITY FOR STUDENTS. We intentionally want to focus on a CRAFTMEN PROFESSION, since the handcraft apprentices have to accept some disadvantages compared to the industrial professions, e.g. the intensity of the exam preparation as well as offers that go beyond professional core activities are rather rare in crafts. Mobility offers are only given to a very small extent in Germany. With this focus 14 PLANT MECHANICS HVAC will spend 10 working days in GREECE every year. In addition to the INTERCULTURAL CONSCIOUSNESS and the PERCEPTION of the EU, the mobility should motivate pupils to improve their learning performance, especially with regard to the final exams. Teachers of the BS WM will support the students in the EXAM PREPARATION. In addition, EK Kavala teachers will instruct the students in VENTILATION AND CLIMATE TECHNOLOGY. In addition, every student should participate in a short term (max. 2 days) INTERNSHIP to get to know the working environment in Greece. Of course, the students are also brought into a situation that requires a stronger self-responsibility. We hope that this will also change the attitude of the pupils and possibly also have positive effects on self-esteem.

About 5 million people had to leave their country due to wars and political pressures and they were settled to different countries mostly in Turkey. This is a common issue not only in Turkey but also all around the world. Our school is in the area where a lot of immigrants and refugees have been defected from their countries where they live in. By the course given to teachers with the coordination of The Ministry of National Education and UNICEF in 2017, we have learnt that the immigrants and refugees have adaptation problems to a new country. And also, we have observed both immigrants/refugees and Turkish students’ problems in our school and we have decided to write this project to provide the adaptation of these students to a new school life easily and cohere with Turkish students by the help of children games. We think games have no language, in other words, they are an international way of interaction. So, games help students adapt easier to a new country and school. The main aim of the project is to adapt the immigrant and refugee students with their peers thanks to children games. The aims of the project includes raise the student’s awareness of the differences and similarities between cultures and lifestyles; provide interaction between cultures with the help of children games; raise the quality of foreign language learning and 4 main skills both students and teachers; encourage the attitude of team work, communicative skills, and social interaction among children with their Europian peers; develop peer teaching and ‘’learning by doing’’ theories; encourage entrepreneurship in students and increase their employment skills and sense of creativity; explore new teaching strategies, methods and techniques. The project is adressed to students between 10 and 17 years of age, teachers, partner schools and indirectly to parents, universities and local communities in which the school’s functions as well as to all other groups which aim to conduct educational activities in the field of communication and education who seek inspiration and are willing to share our experiences and use project results/products made available through various information channels. The main activities in the project include: initial and final assesment of questionnaires about adaptation of immigrant and refugee students with children games, analysis of data gathered, creation of new products such as DVDs, CDs, brochures, a booklet, a calendar about children games, preparing a booklet about new teaching methodologies, organisation of local festival and educational workshops, simple e-learning publications promoting multiculturalism and raising awareness among participants in the project. The main project results and products include: methodological publications and interactive games connected with the projects' main topic. The main result of the project will change in the attitude and awareness among schools have immigrant and refugee students. As final products, we will make up an international website and a brochure including children games, DVDs and CDs about children games, we will publish a booklet about teaching methodologies, modify school playgrounds and prepare calendar. The results will be used long after the conclusion of the project and all results of the project will be archived in the electronic form and made available from an online website. With the help of this international project we want to enhance the students’ and teachers’ interests in foreign language learning and cross the boundries that exist between different European cultures and languages.

As a result we have a lack of skilled workers, which is and could be compensated by immigrants. At the same time, the BS WM has a regional orientation, which needs to evolve with this first EU-project towards a more international perspective in order to secure the state as a center of excellence. In addition, in 2013 classes for asylum-seekers and refugees have been established, to provide a vocational preparation for those people. But also in ""normal"" classes the number of students with only short periods of stay in Germany (e.g. from Syria, Iran, Sierra Leone, etc.) is increasing. The aim of the project is to provide for the participating teachers better ways to adapt their education work to suit the specific needs of immigrants. This includes the ability to recognize and adapt immigration-related barriers. The goal of this KA 1 project is primarily to design a successing KA 1 or KA 2 project, which develops best practices for a better professional integration of immigrants. Within this successing project also a mobility for selected students is planned to enhance their intercultural competence and to integrate them in the process of the best practice development. As partner schools only professional schools were selected, which have comparable departments and education levels. By this selection, we hope to simplify the gathering of direct experience. Furthermore, regions were selected that have a strong intercultural competence and are relevant to our region as a migration country of origin. In particular the Vocational School 2 (ZS 2) in Sanok Poland is situated 30 km from the Ukrainian and Slovak borders and is therefore a multicultural dominated region for ages. The second school is the school center from EK and 1 EPAL in Kavala northern Greece. This school has increasingly students with Bulgarian, Romanian, Turkish or Russian origin and developed numerous extracurricular activities to support integration. Finally, the pre-employment Salesian school Cartagena, Spain was selected: in our neighboring vocational school a separate class for Spanish apprentices was established for the hospitality industry. Several guilds of other industries are interested in the adaption of this approach with Spanish apprentices, which could be relevant for our education approach and course offering. The participants of this project are teachers of the BS WM, especially teachers who have already gained some experience with immigrants (e.g. in classes for asylum-seekers and refugees). The project is managed by a BS WM teacher who has an immigrant background by himself. Before he became teacher, he worked from 1998 to 2003 in numerous Europe-wide projects for authorities, mainly in the domain of project management. The planning and evaluation of the project will be based on MOUs according ECVET. At the beginning of each visit a kickoff workshop is planned, followed by a instruction regarding the regional education systems with a comparison to the German approach according to the EQF. At the core of the project, teachers experience the cultural diversity and aspects as well as obstacles of integration from the perspective of the regions and the schools. In addition, the design of the following project will take place. The results of the project initially will be used at the BS WM to improve the education and teaching approach for immigrants. In addition the regional public will be informed in order to enhance an immigrant-friendly climate. The regional labor market should be involved in follow-up activities to provide opportunities highly skilled jobs for migrants with an adequate approach of education. In addition, a multiplication towards other schools, which also educate immigrants in a vocational context is planned."
