The difficult employment situation in Spain, where youth unemployment exceeds 50%, makes it difficult for many young people to find their first job: mobility projects facilitate and expand the expectations of entering the labor market. The project, with a duration of 12 months, has been designed so that 74 students or recent graduates of middle grade from the professional families of administration, health, commerce and electrical and automatic installations, enjoy a one-month internship that has allowed, in the case of students, integrate it into their cycles of internships undertaken within the module “labor practices” (FCT). Workplace locations have been made in Italy, UK, Malta, France and Portugal. Also for 19 IES Teachers who have completed their training (Job Shadowing practices) and UK, Mala, Italy. The main objective of the project has been to allow participants to develop, through internships in European companies, skills that practically complete the skills acquired during their professional training. The main activities carried out by the project partners are: preparation of mobility, including the selection of participants, their initial evaluation, their previous training, logistical and contractual aspects and coordination; the stay and the start of the program in the companies. Mobility has also included cultural activities. Dissemination activities and mobility itself have had an impact at local, regional and national levels. Although not involved in the project, other organizations at the local, regional and labor levels have benefited from the results of the project: an improvement in the skills of young people. An increase in young employment rates. The possibility of contacting other European institutions to share their best practices. Improve the quality of education given in schools, decrease school dropout, expand their language skills and their ability to receive foreign students. Know the new models of ECTV certification and how to use them. Apart from the impact on the participants. The project has also affected the partners, promoting the approach and cooperation between businesses and schools. Monitoring The evolution of the participants has been monitored by the means established in the project. Project evaluation. Dissemination. Dissemination skills have been planned throughout the project. The participants have been evaluated. The entire process has been certified with ECVET and has been clearly defined since an initial evaluation. The project is directly linked to the 2020 strategic priorities and will help the EU and its member states to generate greater employability, productivity and social cohesion."

More in detail, the partnership intends to focus on the learning of a second language (i.e English or German) in the vocational training courses in the HORECA (Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism) sector that also include some forms of work-based learning as a distinctive part. Very often the training organizations are aware that the knowledge of a second language is fundamental for a good working insertion in this field but at the same time, the students are not really aware of that as they tend to underestimate the importance of foreign languages and they lack this competence. This gap is particularly clear when they participate in mobility projects and, if filled, the students would benefit more from these experiences and maximize the results. The partner organizations come from Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and Poland: all of them are either sending or receiving organizations in mobility projects and want to provide their training in a way which is more and more linked with the labour market needs, thus raising the employability of their students. The teaching methods of foreign languages will be examined starting form the partners' experiences: two of the organizations (UK and Germany) are also involved in activities supporting the language learning of young people going to their countries for mobility projects or to work in the HORECA sector. The ""success factors"" will be identified, as well as the needs of the companies and the trainers. During the first year of the project the partnership will exchange and analyse their methods and tools according to indicators agreed during the first transnational meeting: in accordance with the priorities set by the European Union to raise the competencies provided by VET organizations and their trainers, a learning activity (""Short Term staff Training Event) will be organized. The event will take place in Derry (United Kingdom/Northern Ireland) and last 5 working days; the host organization is The North West Academy and trainers from all the partner organizations will be involved. They will mainly be foreign languages trainers but also trainers involved in work-based learning in order to combine language and work. Therefore, the main aims of the project are on the one hand the exchange of good practices and on the other hand, starting from the findings, also the building of a future project of ""development of innovation"", developing tools and methodology that can be transferred to other contexts and course of the partners."

This project came to maintain this flow of opportunities with the vast community of students from the several Training Centers and their staff. The 1 month internship in industrial companies in Europe had a huge impact on our young trainees, indelibly marking their life story. The vast majority of trainees benefiting from this project had never had the opportunity to live outside Portugal, and for the first time they did so, alone and in autonomous full integration socially, culturally and professionally, in the localities and countries that hosted them. This project brought to the beneficiaries beyond the individual impact also two strong relevant effects that fit into the medium-long term strategy:1) Through the beneficiaries' testimonies among their colleagues, as always occurred in each flow of mobility, these initiatives left a strong impact and interest in the trainee community, thus contributes to stimulate success in learning as a way to achieve future opportunities as these.2) On the other hand, one should not forget the impact of these initiatives on local communities (families, friends, municipalities) and the importance particularly in small cities where CENFIM’s training centers are implemented, as a factor of attractiveness for new trainees in the sector of industrial activity (metalworking) where qualified labour continues lacking. The Staff also benefited with this project. Their mobilities were designed to support the first week of the trainee’s mobility, these mobilities were not, of course, limited to this follow-up purpose. All staff mobility allowed to know new forms of training management organization and industrial contexts of each host country and the interaction models that CENFIM's counterparts had with companies, given the active and direct relationship with the industrial context is something that is of a special importance for CENFIM. In this context, one can say that all mobilities reached a full degree of success, not only in the personal and professional level of each beneficiary, but naturally for the entire organization that benefited from the transfer of these results and experiences to its organization.Altogether in these mobilities 7 training centers from different regions were involved - Amarante, Lisbon, Torres Vedras, Porto, Marinha Grande, Caldas da Rainha and Trofa - and also 1 department - the Training Department. This was organized in a logic of proportionality and rotation that are continuously applied to the management of the mobilities so that they can benefit at intervals of two years all localities/communities of trainees. These beneficiaries were subject to selection processes that are public, objective and transparent, which procedures are part of CENFIM's management system and according to the procedures that are highlighted throughout this report. The tragic COVID-19 outbreak, which affected the entire world, unfortunately also had consequences for the good development of this project. In February 2020 everything was prepared for the last flows of mobilities, but unfortunately did not occur during the lifetime of the project. The cancellation of these mobilities, which involved a total of 8 trainees and 8 staff members and which were already planned and organized to take place in Belgium, Spain and Germany, thus prevented the full implementation of the project, which considered a total of 48 (34 trainees and 14 staff members), thus fulfilling 67% of the planned mobility.Nevertheless, the mobility that were possible to carry out reached, given this condition, a relevant value and the result and impact of these, as we expected, leaves us fully satisfied. The quality of the partnership contributed greatly to this, not only of the intermediate entities, in a total of 7 connected to the 7 countries, but also of the 16 industrial companies willing, as host entities, to receive our trainees, in a framework of great trust, cooperation and quality and therefore deserve the final mark of our sincere recognition.

In total, we intend to accomplish several training mobility periods with a duration of one month in a company each. These are for fourteen students, six of them in Derry (Northern Ireland), and the rest of them in Plymouth (UK). These students are doing different VET courses: Cars Maintenance, Business Administration, Electrical Installations, Computing and Nursery VET courses. All of them are doing Intermediate-level VET courses and their level of English is Elementary/Pre-Intermediate. All of them are eighteen years old or over that age.We also intend to carry out four training periods of five days each. These addressed at teachers and in the job-shadowing modality. For these training periods, we count with the collaboration of two associated members, one in Derry and the other one in Plymouth. They will be in charge of managing the training and the accommodation in the already mentioned cities. For all this, a selection procedure will be made, and it will take into account three aspects: the students? school records, their command of English and their attitude and skill to carry out the training period, both of students and teachers. Afterwards, there will be a period in order to prepare the mobility training, and then, the training period will develop. In the case of students, these training period, will be part of what we call ?Module of Training in a Working Company?, which is compulsory for obtaining the official certificate for their course. We intend that participants ?both teachers and students- in these formative periods can attain the following aims:-Improve their professional skills.-Improve their social competences through integration in teamwork of multicultural and multilingual nature.-Improve the learning of a foreign language in a technical and professional environment. -Foster an entrepreneurial spirit. More specifically, for teachers doing the mobility we intend that they can:-Increase the management competence for projects and international initiatives.-Increase the tools and didactic possibilities by comparing other Vocational Education systems. We consider the participation in the project as extremely beneficial, both for teachers and students, and for all our educative community and hometown. It helps us in the long and in the short term to broaden the employability possibilities for our students, since they become aware of the possibility to develop professionally not only in our hometown, but also in other EU countries.Projects like these also help to increase the quality of our educative offer, and to improve the external image of our school, which is perceived as a modern and efficient institution that takes active place in European projects.
