In our work for intercultural acceptance we’ve noticed how quite some values disappear from the mind-set of our beneficiaries when there is “important” sport competition event and when they take sides in opposite fan groups that show strong animosity towards each other. Then we can see certain negative behaviour shown by the same beneficiaries that are usually positive and accepting different individuals around them in regular youth work activities. Until youth work is separated from sport, we will not be able to reach as good results as possible for intercultural acceptance in our communities. We need to practice more the healthy competition and teamwork in sports among our beneficiaries. This project responds to those needs and aims to encourage our youth workers to develop more youth sport work projects that will explore and extract all the possible positive aspects of sports for developing consistent positive intercultural acceptance among our beneficiaries. There was no similar opportunity yet organised – a PBA where interested organisations could discuss the alarming situation in Europe nowadays (when it comes to intolerance, discrimination, exclusion, etc.) and try to find solutions for it through developing youth SPORT work projects together. The core activity of the project was – 8 days long partnership-building activity (PBA). It was organised in the youth hostel in Novi Sad, Serbia from 4th till 12th April 2017. Project gathered 35 participants, trainers and staff from 19 organisations and 15 countries (RS, AL, BA, ME, XK, CY, ES, GR, HR, IT, MK, PT, RO, SI, TR). There were 14 young people with fewer opportunities. The goals of this PBA were to develop capacity of youth workers and partners in Erasmus+ KA2 Western Balkans Youth Window and Sport strands and to establish partnerships for youth sport work projects tackling current issues of discrimination, marginalization and exclusion in Europe and diversity in general. We expected from participants to be able to represent their sending organisations and enter into new partnerships and new project proposals during this PBA. Through increased quantity & quality projects, we expected the increased competences and readiness of young people in communities for taking active stand on fighting discrimination and intolerance and promoting respect of diversity and intercultural acceptance. We expected at least 380 youngsters being indirect beneficiaries of our project (20 per partner organisation). On European level, our project has as impact 8 newly initiated projects with possibility to include additional partners from other countries of Europe, as well. Thus, the impact that this PBA gave to our direct participants and partners will be multiplied also to other organisations / youth workers in Europe.

They face significant barriers to realising their human rights, including discrimination in education, employment, housing and transport; denial of the right to vote; and being stripped of the right to make decisions about their own lives, including their reproductive choices etc. Individuals with physical, sensory, intellectual and mental disabilities often face increased violence in all levels of societies they live. The protection guaranteed in other human rights treaties, and grounded in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, should apply to all. Persons with disabilities have, however, remained largely ‘invisible’, often side-lined in the rights debate and unable to enjoy the full range of human rights.Main aim of this project was to increase our capacities in the field of human rights protection and advocacy of young people with disabilities (YPWDs), moreover to create the unique online platform in Europe which gathers all youth workers (as well trainers, educators..) working/or interested in working with YPWDs. This platform aim to serve as online space for: exchange of tools, methods and best practice useful when working with mixed abilities groups, as well this is the online space where we created pool of trainers experienced in working with YPWDs. Ideas for this project were based on three years experience of the project consortium, through which consortium had chance to build capacities, learn and grow together. First project implemented together was based on increasing skills and knowledge of youth workers on how to work with mixed abilities groups. During the realisation of project activities it was noticed a great lack of tools and methods while working with mixed abilities groups, so, the second project focus was on rising youth workers capacities in theatre methodology and contemporary dance techniques adapted to work with YPWDs. During this project we created online manual, with an aim to make this methodology accessibly to all youth workers. More details of consortium work and project results please find on Erasmus+ Project Results Platform. While working together consortium recognised that more has to be done in terms of the protection and advocacy of YPWD rights. In this regard we decided to have partnership building activity (PBA) where we discussed more about what we do on local level, how we promote/advocate HR, which method and tools we use, etc. This activity provided us a chance to come together and do partnership building of our informal network, as well we used this seminar to talk about cross sector cooperation’s, since while working with YPWD we have to closely cooperate with public schools and institutions. Then we did training for youth workers on building their professional capacities on how to be better advocates YPWD human rights. The last project activity was Evaluation Meeting where we evaluated all our work in last year’s, this meeting we also used for deciding on how the online platform will look like, for sharing task and responsibilities in order to made this tool sustainable.

The project is thought in order to permit to young people with fewer opportunities to partecipate in a youth exchange characterised by intercultural learning, sharing and personal growing in a multicultural context. The international exchange spoke about the topic of the self awareness about own personality, body and emotions and about the theme of gender equality and passing of the cultural stereotypes, with special attention to the gender stereotypes. The entire project was thought to permit the union of practical and interactive methodologies with theoretical analysis and personal and group reflection. The participants had the chance to share different points of view and to pass the personal and social barriers that often influence the growing and development of boys and girls in a equal way inside the society. The organising staff has involved the participants in role playing games, activities about intercultural learning and they had the challenge to create the final performance by themselves, using theatrical techniques and body expressions. The youth exchange was characterised by continuous teamworks and moments devoted to debates and discussions, not just during the activities but also during the international working groups and national reflection groups. The flow was be structured in 3 main moments. The first part was about the creation of the group with activities that helped participants to get to know each other such as name games, integration games and teambuildings. In the main part of the youth exchange we discussed about the topic of the project through teamworks, presentations, workshops role playing games and theatrical sketch. Besides of this, the participants prepared the final performance focused on the different discussed topics during the project through various artistic representations and a video created by one group of participants. The visibility moment of the exchange was in Lucca city center during the presentation of the results of the project and a short description of the programme Erasmus+. Finally there was an evaluating moment of the youth exchange with the personal and group reflections about the formative process, connected with the Key competences of the Youthpass. In this final part we got inspired for further collaborations with the partners organisations.
