In Eastern Partnership countries, particularly in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine youth is often unable to join the decision-making processes on youth issues at a local level. There are no efficient youth consultative bodies or youth councils in the municipalities and no proper procedures and culture to approach youth when youth issues are being dealt with. This is also coupled with limited access to information and not sufficient language skills. While in most of the EU Members States there are strategies and tools of engaging marginalized young people and young people based outside of the main administrative areas, the Eastern Partnership countries still face a lack of appropriate policies, strategies and infrastructure. Specifically in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine there is a lack of youth participation structures mostly in rural and deprived urban areas and bridging those needs with the existing practices and tools in the EU can be very effective. The proposed project aims to empower youth organizations, youth workers, trainers and educators to develop inclusion and diversity orientation in their work with rural and unprivileged young people and build their competence in addressing the needs of marginalized youth. The project aims to reach the following main objectives: A. To develop youth work support systems and tools that will help youth organizations to incorporate inclusion and diversity orientation into their working environment, thus, making their work with marginalized youth and young people from rural and deprived urban areas more successful and inclusive;B. To promote participation and inclusion of marginalized youth and disadvantaged young people in the European programs in the fields of Education, Training and Youth;C. To develop a handbook that will introduce key theoretical aspects, the glossary of inclusion and participation as well as the practical tools, methods and instruments that can help organizations and individuals involved in youth work who seek to work with marginalized youth in their communities;D. To develop training and educational activities and tools on inclusion and participation trying them out during the activities of the project; E. To build mutually beneficial relationships and links with the already existing groups of young people, youth initiatives, youth organizations, youth workers and projects;F. To design and implement 24 Civil Society Fellowships and provide the Fellows and the hosting communities with an opportunity of knowledge and culture exchange. As a main impact of the project, the communication and interaction between the EU and the EaP partner countries in the field of empowering marginalized youth and building creative means for youth participation in the region will be consolidated. The activities proposed under this project will increase the linkage between public and private stakeholders, civil society organizations and local authorities as well as the project partners, young professionals, youth workers, researches, experts and stakeholders in the field of youth and education.Based on the achieved outcomes of our previous common projects and our experiences in home countries, we believe that marginalized, disadvantaged young people from rural and deprived urban areas should be reached through tools, methods and strategies that will be tailored to local needs and conducted in local languages. Those will be basically developed as a result of the entire project․

It involves games, role-plays, case studies and socio-drama circumstances to simulate representations of reality situations. Conservative, discriminating values are hard to tackle, with clearly defined roles for men and women, gender stereotypes and issues with the expression of gender identity and sexual orientation. It is very important to enable youth workers and young leaders to feel and reflect about the power of gender and gender roles by giving them space to discuss, debate and learn more about the topic that often remains undiscussed. That is why with this Training Course tackled these issues and looked for solutions in our organizations and daily lives. We developed and improved our participant’s knowledge and understanding on various concepts related to gender issues, analysed traditions, roles and perceptions of gender in different countries and societies. It's obvious that there was huge differences as participants came from different realities and different corners of Europe, but this made the project more interesting. The Training Course “Breaking gender barriers through Youth Work: A Quest 4 Equality” brought together 38 youth workers from the EU and Neighbouring Partner Countries. Through the participation in different scale of activities as discussions, presentations, field visits, participants exchanged their skills and experiences on gender mainstreaming, gender discrimination, gender violence and gender perspectives in different parts of Europe and discovered more about realities in Eastern Europe and Caucasus region. It was a unique platform where we shared practices and exchanged realities. The main aim of the Training Course was to increase the awareness of youth workers and youth leaders about gender equality issues and perspectives in Europe and to provide the participants with skills to develop good quality projects locally and under the “Erasmus+” programme focusing on the topic of Gender Equality, which we fully achieved. The Training Course had also a practical side. In order to practice newly gained knowledge, the participants planned concrete non-formal learning activities for concrete target groups (school leaders, youth with disabilities, etc.) that later were implemented in their projects on their local levels or European level. Another value of this project was the development of concrete international projects as new partnership were formed for future similar projects. The participants were provided with skills to develop good quality projects, with the assistance of experts.

RESOLVE: Equity aimed to develop young women and young men in understanding Gender Inequality, promoting Gender Equity and offer a platform for young Gender Equality advocates seeking experience as future Gender Equality changemakers. The project aimed to:- to recognise gender inequality-provide the skills/understanding/experience a young person needs to engage with gender inequality 'social marginalisers' and advocate gender equity-share expertise/best practice/skills/support to young people in their delivery of their local Social Action activities-offer a sustained network for partner countries’ future advocates to promote gender equity beyond the lifetime of the programmeGender inequality and a lack of equity continued to be a real issue in all of our partners’ countries and the development of Gender-based equity advocacy skills in a learning model, supported the next generation of community leaders to have the skills they need to address inequality.Additionally, as a RESOLVE youth exchange project, original application also recognised that very often Community leaders lack the experience & knowledge to manage local conflict in the UK and partner countries of this kind. With a lack in skill-sets, partners aimed to engage with young people, our community leaders of tomorrow, to develop the skills they needed to manage community conflict before it increases to the level of every day violent conflict, through this project, especially in relation to Gender Inequality.Mobilising the expertise developed through RESOLVE: East/other RESOLVE youth exchanges and through the ongoing work of the RESOLVE: Network, Asfar and our partners aimed to address this conflict, while developing the community leaders of tomorrow with a specific focus on Gender Equality and Gender Equity. In the Caucasus community disengagement & ongoing-war effects still prevents social cohesion & social inclusion especially for Women and members of the LGBTQ+ communities. Whereas Gender Inequality remains a significant issue in Morocco and Turkey, with basic rights lacking. In the UK and Italy, gender equality is at a higher level than some partner countries, however, it remains a barrier to community participation and development. The next generation of Community Peacebuilders, who are now actively required in Europe and neighbouring countries must to be prepared to address social division, toensure the rejuvenation of their communities & the social cohesiveness necessary to prevent long term conflicts.Key Objectives - support young people to develop skills in:1. Sport for Development/Simulation games & how to use techniques to resolve gender inequality in their communities2. Gender Equality Social Advocacy competencies3. Engage with Social Marginalisers of gender inequality 4. how Social Action & Citizenship can resolve inequalities5. designing a Gender Equity strategy as part of RESOLVE Peace Network & ensure its sustainability6.
