The internship was attended by a total of 15 students, which took nternship in Italy. Apart from the students, two teachers/caregivers per each group took part in the mobilities. The internship was scheduled for two weeks in accordance with a program and held in 2018. The main objective of the project was to support the mobility of students learning professionals in the international labor markets, their training and the subsequent ability to use knowledge in practice. In this way, they are increasing the chances of a student to find a job, since it strengthens their position in the labour market as people with experience abroad and a greater motivation to work. Training project was a response to changing conditions and increasing competition on the local and European labor market, which requires adapting the scope of vocational training to the changing needs. The main objectives of the project was: • to gain professional experience in an international, multicultural environment by its participants, • to acquire skills, enhance the competitiveness of the participants at the national and European labour market, • to improve language skills in English, • to develop students' creativity and mobility, allowing them to move freely in the modern labour market, • to develop interpersonal communication and teamwork skills, • to broaden the participants’ knowledge of the Italian culture and customs. Rural tourism technician and technician - small gastronomy chef are closely cooperating, and their curricula content is complementary. Students already had the basic theoretical knowledge in the field of vocational subjects, well-established and verified during practical classes. The project enabled the re-verification and broaden their knowledge and skills in the new conditions. The project combined innovative approaches to education and training, so that the education can fit the needs of the labour market and provide opportunities to acquire new skills. The implementation of internships in an EU country also allows the participants to get to know the culture, traditions and history of the visited country and enhances their language development. During the two-week apprenticeship young people had opportunities to compare the Italian industry solutions to those used in Poland and verify their theoretical knowledge from a practical perspective. The students were able to know the unique features of these professions in different cultural conditions, climate and technology. Students did their internship in Italian companies. The internship programme has been designed to be versatile and comprehensive in order to meet the needs of the participants. Young people had the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills in the field of local companies on a different culture and traditions. In today’s global labour market and cultural exchanges such knowledge is essential for the quality of customer service and their own professional development. The internship enabled its participants to engage in the organization of various culinary events, and learn about the work of the Italian companies. Within the profession, students were able to apply in practice the knowledge acquired during the training in school. They learn the principles of operation of a foreign company from the inside. They became familiar with other (often more modern) ways of working and management techniques that are not used in local companies. As part of language education students had the opportunity to verify their language abilities in practice. During the internship, students acquired a number of social skills that enabled them to increase their attractiveness on the labour market. Doing the internship for 2 weeks in a foreign company allowed the students to gain confidence in new situations. Direct contact with foreigners helped overcome stereotypes and give the project participants a sense of awareness of being the citizens of the European Union and raise their independence. We hope that through this experience they will be able to cope in their adult lives.
