Novel Materials in Electrical Machines

Description

Novel Materials in Electrical Machines The performance of electrical machines is improved by utilizing newly developed new materials that transfer heat and electricity more efficiently. This research focuses on the latest developments in materials technology at LUT University, with the aim of further improving the thermal and electrical output of electrical machines. To exploit new materials, an innovative design method is being developed. The goal is to achieve the smallest possible but powerful motor while achieving energy savings. The study uses motor design programs and computational methods to determine where new materials should be installed in the electric motor. It has been found that materials such as carbon nanotubes, nanofluids and graphene can significantly improve the performance of electrical machines. This enables a new generation of denser, more efficient, durable and reliable solutions in electrical machine engineering.
