"This is a higher education student and staff mobility project under measure K103. The project was aimed at facilitating the students and staff of the University of Mining and Geology (UMG) ""St. Ivan Rilski"", Sofia, Bulgaria, to undertake a learning and/or professional experience at universities with similar to our area of education and correspondingly - in their countries. The mobility exchange was based on the previously signed agreements with our partners using the corresponding Erasmus+ template. The project objectives were: (i) To support students in enhancing their knowledge, skills and competences necessary for their formation as professionals, their personal development, preparedness to work in multicultural environment and thus to increase their employability in the European and international labour market. (ii) To enhance the professional competences of our teaching staff. (iii) To support the professional development of the administrative staff.Totally 6 students (at B.S. and M.S. level) and 11 staff members took part in outbound mobility and 1 student and 1 staff member - in inbound. The students participated in student mobility for studies (SMS). The staff members participated in 8 staff mobilities for teaching (STA) - delivering lectures and seminars at the partner universities, and 3 staff mobilities for training (STT) - aimed at increasing the colleagues' ability to work on the Erasmus+ Programme. The mobility enlarged the level of knowledge, key competences and skills of our students - all these finally leading either to enrolling in higher degree of study or to enhanced employability and better career prospects. In addition, their self-confidence, soft skills and intercultural attentiveness were risen.Training of our staff with the help of Erasmus+ Programme improved their understanding for international projects, their ability to work in intercultural environment and capability for establishing effective partnerships.STA mobility developed further the professional competences of our colleagues, increased their capacity to set off changes in terms of modernization in their subjects, teaching in favour of students. Their motivation for work was enhanced. In addition, in many cases their foreign language competence was improved. Participation of academic staff in the Programme contributed to the transferring and implementation at UMG of the positive examples of the European educational system and the scientific experience gathered from all fields of knowledge. The number of colleagues encouraging and supporting students' mobility is increased.As a whole, the participation in the Erasmus+ Programme contributes to realize the strategy of UMG to develop our staff, modernize our university and enhance our international relations and cooperation leading to fulfilling our objectives and tasks as public higher educational institution for the upcoming years."
