Taste of Europe

Description

"This activity was a youth exchange with the title Taste of Europe. The main subject of this project is gastronomy, to discover our gastronomy heritage and to discuss how and what we deliver from the past to the future with the slogan ‘Our heritage: where the past meets the future’ We all realize this unique role of the food and the heritage of gastronomy and that's why we decided to use it as one of our main topics for the international youth exchange, where we will bring together 54 people from 9 countries of the Europe. This activity is a mobility project for young people, an international youth exchange program, that takes place in Xylokastro town, Corinth region and involves 8 partners from the Programme Countries and the host country, Greece. Each partner organization will delegate 5 youngsters and 1 group leader. We will host groups from Spain, Italy, Denmark, Portugal, Latvia, Slovakia, Sweden and Netherlands. The activity dates are 16/09/2018 – 23 / 09/ 2018 (8 days) This will be unique experience not only for the participants themselves but we will make it an experience also for the local community in Xylokastro. Our objective with this activity is to get to know the cultures of all the partner's countries through their cuisines and food history, through their ""food stories"" and to enjoy together the diversity of our countries and surprises that it always brings. The goal of our organization with the activity and hosting international youth exchange with 48 foreign participants from other European countries in Xylokastro that the impact of the program not to be limited only on the participants but with the same importance on the local community as well. By implementing this exchange in Xylokastro, we bring the local community in close contact with foreign youngsters. During the activity will use a various non formal education methods as presentations, discussions, working groups, demonstrations, visits, team building games, brainstormings. All of the partner organizations agree on the importance of sharing and spreading the project results, because we are aware that this way all the partner organizations will raise the profile of the organization, we can create new opportunities to extend the project and its results, to develop new partnerships for the future but also increases awareness of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program. We will create tangible materials but also we will follow an active social media strategy, so we plan to actively communicate through social media and gain following throughout the duration of the project. For young people, who are our main target group, these channels are the most natural pathways of communication. Using Facebook and Instagram we plan to capture large young audiences in Greece and all partner´s countries. The communication strategy aims to make these audience part of the whole experience. The central communication on social media will be complemented the whole time by the participants´ activity on social media, within their networks and on the project page on FB."
