Description

Through this project Association Pro Refugiu intended alongside its partners to address a series of actual problems regarding the assistance for victims of human trafficking. Improve the child/youth victims assistance is linked in having a human resources of professionals able to use in their daily work with the target group, a victim centered approach, new and better methods with long term results regarding the rehabilitation process. As in general professionals use conservative, standard methods, it was considered important to familiarize them as well with methods used with good results on other vulnerable groups affected by similar trauma (methods as coaching, peer to peer, child friendly techniques). It was important to create a pool of professionals able to transmit further the knowledge to other colleagues in their areas of expertise (as social and psychological)Objectives: strengthening professionals knowledge by teaching them how to use support programs in their daily work activity with children and youth victims of human trafficking; enhance cross-border cooperation among professionals from origin-transit-destination countries when children /youth are subjected to exploitation; improve reintegration process for victims of human trafficking as result of receiving support from professionals using an improved assistance as result of new support programs.Activities: transnational project meetings, developing of intellectual outputs, joint staff training events and seminars as multiplier events in Romania, Czech Republic and Spain.Results: -Improved professionals (social workers, psychologists) knowledge on new support methods, friendly approach / victims centered approach that need to be applied when dealing with such vulnerable target group.- An enhanced transnational cooperation of specialists from origin-destination countries, necessary due to the fact that from countries as Romania originate victims of human trafficking exploited in Czech Republic and Spain and a collaboration is needed especially as victims require support in the destination state as well as in the origin one after her/his return back home. A collaboration, communication among specialists - on victims’ needs, type of necessary assistance, type of methods that can lead to positive results and speed the healing process – is more than useful, it is beneficial for the victims.- An improved support provided by professionals to victims (child, youth) as part of their rehabilitation process, by learning on the positive results that techniques as coaching and peer to peer can have towards their clients.
