<< Objectives >>Cross-Border 22 aims to open borders and overcome them both literally and symbolically. This includes overcoming the limits of one's own self-assessment, having the courage to stand on a stage, daring to make diverse social contacts.We want to enable an review of one's own realities and the realities of life of others, diverse identities and cultural diversity. Barriers that prevent coming together and integration should be addressed and processed theatrically and musically. Cultural diversity should be lived and experienced as part of a pluralistic and democratic Europe.Cross-Border 22 is intended to stimulate a critical examination of the present, past and future, to promote interest in political and social issues and to encourage humane action.<< Implementation >>More than 50 young people from Germany, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Serbia meet and encounter each other with the forms and means of expression of theatre, dance and music, play with diverse border experiences.Together on stage, they express longings, dreams and fears, youthful curiosity, new encounters and shared experiences. Cross-Border 22 is an integrative and inclusive project. Many of the young people have migrant background, some have a handicap. They create a piece out of shared ideas, interests and skills. With the stylistic devices of movement theater and music, the young people will take up their own experiences artistically and stage them under professional artistic supervision. Influences from theatre, dance and music pedagogy and non-formal education support the methodical processing of the topics, promote democratic cooperation and participation. The participants discover Europe and leave visible signs and impressions. Towards the end of the youth meeting, the finished piece will be presented to a broad audience in several performances.<< Results >>Cross-Border 22 intends to encourage young people to adopt an open attitude. Open to change and new challenges, to new cultures and encounters, open to learning together.Young people should be able to use their learning experiences after Cross-Border 22. They should be motivated to spend their free time creatively and actively after the project. In their luggage they have a number of new acquaintances, skills and techniques from theatre, dance and music.Their understanding of other cultures and solidarity will expand and they will get an overview of the meaning and possibilities of a European Union and its basic values. This should reduce fears and focus on common paths, opportunities and values.Cross-Border 22 initiates relationships between people and organizations at the European level. A transnational space that lasts as long as possible is created, through which a constructive exchange of ideas, perspectives, values, methods and the realization of joint projects becomes possible. This contributes to European integration.The principle of equality should be implemented in the measure in an artistic and playful way and motivate individuals, youth groups, organizations and institutions to experience and actively live inclusion and accept diversity.
