Description

Foundation You Can More meeting the needs of the current labor market in the Świętokrzyskie region has realized for students from the Gastronomic and Hospitality School Complex in Sandomierz a cook trained in the profession and School Complex No. 1 in Opatów, educating in the profession of nutrition technician and catering services, participation in three three weeks internships in Portugal. The project covered: 32 students from the School Complex from Opatów and 16 students from ZSGiH from Sandomierz.A foreign internship in accordance with the education program was organized in Portugal by the AENIE organization in professional restaurants. The aim of the project was to raise the professional competence of students in the field of gastronomy and to learn Portuguese cuisine in practical terms and to promote international cooperation. In addition, the project will influence the culture, tradition and methods of organizing the work of the host country and support the mobility of young workers in the labor market. The implementation of the project also influenced the increase of opportunities for young people, especially those from difficult social environments, and increased their mobility in the field of job seeking. An internship at renowned European-level restaurants has allowed students to broaden their experience in the future profession, gain knowledge about European customer service systems and deepen their knowledge of the industry's English language. The implementation of the project allowed the participants to benefit from the professional experience of the Portuguese partner and thus enabled the extension of substantive knowledge in the field of operation of the catering industry in the partner country. Participation in foreign practice has created an opportunity to compare educational methods in Portugal and Poland and match them to the requirements of the employer. The project responded to the needs of reducing unemployment among people learning in the profession of cook and nutrition techniques and catering services and the labor market requiring high qualifications and professional skills from graduates, and above all, high-level experience. The project also involved combating the risk of occupational exclusion, as long-term off-work is associated with such risks. The project was also in line with the need to develop entrepreneurship among young people, openness and quick response to changes and movement of employees on the European labor market as well as promotion of the region and school (improving the level of education and increasing its attractiveness and competitiveness on the local education market); employment of highly qualified employees with international experience. The added value of the project was confirmation of the acquired skills by an accepted and recognized in all EU countries Europass - Mobility, obtaining internship certificates certified by hosting organizations and certificates summarizing the preparation activities for the internship. As a sending institution, we ensured high quality of the project and the results of the project were disseminated in the media, among pupils, parents, teachers, authorities and local employers.
