IntoME2 - Integration of Migrants in Europe 2

Description

IntoME2 aims to expand the scope of activity of the 2020 IntoME Centre by promoting research and teaching excellence, enhancing societal awareness and influencing policy-making in three areas of EU/national migration law: the creation of protected entry procedures (PEPs) for refugees, including humanitarian visas and other schemes of offshore asylum processing; the emergence of innovative approaches to the refugee reception and migrants’ integration; the use of new technologies (algorithms, AI) in migration procedures and policies.The Centre will deliver the following outputs:a) Publications - special issue on successful integration pathways for refugees and international students- edited volume on comparative advantages of different PEPs - edited volume on “evidence-based” migration policies - report on innovative reception policies and practices- report on the feasibility and compatibility with EU law of asylum offshoring processing - report on the digitalisation of migration and border procedures b) Other deliverables - mobile-phone app supporting the integration of international students at Tuscia University- interactive map displaying PEP schemes available in the EU- booklet with information and advice for refugee and vulnerable students- a quarterly newsletter- video pill seriesc) Teaching, scientific & outreach events- Kick-off meeting - Guest Lecture Series- 3 annual Summer Training Schools- 3 annual Doctoral Colloquia - 2 scientific workshops - annual Round Table with local authorities - Film Festival- Final International ConferenceIntoME2 aims to reach the following target groups: academia, by conducting innovative research of European relevance; university students, by enriching the teaching and training content of the Master’s degree on European Studies at Tuscia University; local/national/EU policymakers, by envisaging best practices and suitable solutions; high school students and civil society, by promoting outreach events.
