The Local Youth Council of Ciudad Real (Consejoven), is a non-profit organization, whose main objective is the promotion of associations and volunteering. Since the year 1992, we have been working in the field of local volunteering, precisely through the inscribed associations in the same area and the activities they have had (at the moment being more than 60).Our project “WORKING WITH SPANISH ASOCIATIONS 2”, has welcomed two young people from different European countries such as Romania and Macedonia in Spain for an European Voluntary Service since January 2016 until January 2017-From the Local Youth Council of Ciudad Real, we have proposed the next objectives:-Encourage the solidarity and participation of young people from our region and Europe alike-Let them know the existing entities in the province of Ciudad Real and provide the opportunity for a mutual learning process.-Involve the volunteers in the activities developed by the associationsThe project allowed the volunteers to increase their personal and professional development through their participation in different projects, activities and events carried out by the associations existing under Consejoven, thus increasing their knowledge about social skills, cultural information, languages, etc., which will allow them to be better prepared labour market and become facilitators of social change. The volunteers have been integrated in non-formal education projects, with different types of youth collectives such as disadvantaged young people, youth with different disabilities, or unmotivated young people. Furthermore they have also helped in the different programs of the host institution:-The program of YOUTH PARTICIPATION AND VOLUNTEERING-The COMMUNICATION AND NONFORMAL EDUCATION program.Within these programs, they had helped in organising and preparing the dynamization activities for leisure and free time for the children and youth within the city, realised through workshops, shows, theatre, youth meetings, training trips,…The methodology used has been based on learning-doing, coupled with the social commitment to learning, knowledge, skills, attitudes and values. Learning to be competent by being helpful to the others. The main activities where the volunteers had participated in were:-Linguistic meetings for young people in English;-Speeches regarding Erasmus + in the universities, institutes and in our youth centre;-Informing the youth about the European projects (such as EVS, seminaries, exchanges, etc.);-Collaborating with the associations and their activities;-Assist the associations in their administrative issues;-Implement the visibility of the project “Working with Spanish Associations 2”, through the social networks;-Participating in seminars and speeches organised by Consejoven;-Preparing the next welcoming project and learning how to ask for subventions for Erasmus + projects;-Improving their Spanish through the Online Linguistic Support and the classes offered by the receiving organization.Results and Impact:At local, national, European and international level, the project had a very important impact in our community. Thanks to the visibility and the diffusion that we created through this project, people from Ciudad Real started knowing about the Erasmus + projects, reaching more associations and youth that did not know about this type of programs.We are also carrying out an important dissemination of the results of the project on social networks, through Facebook and our website, so that young people, associations and youth workers can learn more about European values and opportunities and to allow every association from the region to create and develop Erasmus + projects in collaboration with the local youth. We have prepared a video in which we are showing the dissemination of the results and where we are letting you know all the events and talks we have organised.We have also put it on Youtube, on the new visibility platform of Erasmus + and we have sent it to our partner organisations to present the results of the project and, also, to create a bigger impact.
