There are few types of activities were planed foк the project. The main is teaching courses according to application. these courses (for MA students) and module (as a training course) are to be devoted to collective memories in Europe including in connection to ethnic process and political issues of European integration. The initial idea was to invite students from various MA programmes (history, education, international relations, Urban studies, archeology etc) to discuss memory issues from different academic disciplines and utilise collective memory as a integrative subject. From the content view point, although these courses are to be new, three years ago I had quite concrete ideas about the structure off the courses including independent students work, course reading and courses evaluation criteria. Critical thinking approach was supposed as a key element of teaching method and I was going to consolidate teaching community around the critical thinking. So, starting the programme I was quite sure about the content of teaching. Unlike of teaching and students work, I had very general understanding about specific activities including public lecture series of European memory and on writing and thinking approach. Since new research-led teaching as well as critical thinking competences are crucially important for contemporary Russia I was just sure that the project will improve the quality of professional training on EU subjects (with modules that deal with EU subjects more in-depth and extend to memory subject) through writing and thinking seminars. Moreover, I believed that the new teaching methods will bring important innovative scholarly reflection on questions that are most frequently only in part addressed by academic work on the collective memory, focussing specifically on the nexus between processes of European integration and institutes/politics of memory. Research content of the project was to be devoted to publishing monograph of European collective memory. in the very beginning of the project I had ideas about the sources, methods and approximate structure of the book starting to deal with its some parts. All these activities corresponded with my Institute development program and was approved by its academic council.
