Diversity in Unity: the Dialectic of European Integration

Description

The CES at Sichuan University, the JMCE has consistently work on the research of the EU and the European Integration for over 20 year. It now has its reputation and impact with its achievement both in research and teaching in the EU studies in China and Asia as well. In its implementation of both EU and China’s research projects, it has established a close collaborative relation with the European scholars, universities and institutes. This new application of the JMCE project is to keep the Centre’s sustainable development, to continue its on-going research and high-level teaching of its EU studies, and to further promote its influence internally and externally in China and in the EU. The key points we have in the proposal are briefly summed up as:1. To continue our efforts on the studies of the development of the European integration, from an interdisciplinary external view, especially the Chinese view so as to further promote the EU and the European integration studies in China;2. To enhance the sustainable development of the Centre and enhance its influence both in China and Asia through its research and teaching at an advanced level;3. To keep/strengthen the influence and visibility of the JM projects at the campus of SCU and at the campuses of the colleges and universities in collaboration with the centres in China and Asia;4. To strengthen our collaboration with the European scholars and institutes of the EU studies through the project and to keep our research and teaching with the change and development of the EU reform. CES-SCU has over 30 members from the diversified disciplines in EU Studies both in research and teaching. Through the proposal, the centre will further strengthen the existing JMCE, further improve its influence in the EU and the European Integration studies in China and Asia, and continuously promote the visibility of the EU in China and in Asia.
