On the Road to Tolerance - Variety of Identities in DiversifiACTION

Description

"The project ""On the Road to Tolerance - Variety of Identities in DiversifiACTION"" prepared by the Academic Center of European Information and Education is a series of 3 youth exchanges. Each of them will be attended by young people from Poland, Croatia, Romania, Italy and Spain - a total of 40 people in a single exchange. The first exchange will take place in the perio18-25.07.2016, the second in 17-24.10.2016 and the last in 16-23.01.2017. Each of three exchanges will take place in Zakopane. The main goal of the project is intercultural dialogue, deepening cooperation and understanding between young people from different countries, and developing tolerance through the knowledge of the culture of countries participating in the exchange, their traditions, customs and national realities of everyday life. During 8 days which participants will spend together they will have the opportunity to meet peers from other countries that are not well known to them culturally. This will allow them to learn about the history, culture and language of the countries of their peers, to refute stereotypes and prejudices, and will serve to promote tolerance and openness towards others. Youth will participate in various activities which will enable them to get to know each other closer and exchange opinions and views. The issue of building tolerance, strengthening European identity and awareness in different countries across Europe will be a tool which we will use to achieve the primary objective. During the exchanges we will organize activities in the form of workshops, presentations, integration games, discusssion panels, film screenings, outside activities and meetings with the local community. Our actions will create a friendly atmosphere among the participants and provide a permanent impact on young people. During each of the exchanges young people will promote tolerance and combating stereotypes. We will also conduct activities directed at the issues connected with breaking social and cultural barriers."
