"The Project MUCEX I is a mobility project for trainees and trainers of Munich Airport (dt. Flughafen München GmbH). At Munich Airport the professional training of the trainees is the German dual system. Since 20 years, Munich Airport arranges international Exchange Programmes with the erasmus+ program for its trainees and Trainers. Every year, new projects are planned, applied for and performed to increase the attractiveness of Munich Airport as an employer for trainees and trainers. The stay abroad is planned for trainees in the third year of their apprenticeship shortly before or after the written final exam. Trainers of Munich Airport can take part in an ""Exchange"" after their company appointment as trainer and under certain operational criteria. The trainees are sent to the respective partner company for two weeks and the trainers for one week (without arrival and departure day). The following professional training groups were sent to the following partner airports:Athens International Airport: Trainee Commercial Office Clerk and Real Estate Clerk, Trainee Qualified IT-specialist and Trainee safety and securityFlughafen Wien AG: MechatronicsMalta International Airport: Trainee Commercial Office Clerk and Real Estate ClerkIsavia: Trainers of different Departments from Munich AirportWithin the two years a total of, 37 trainees and 3 trainers had the possibility to take part in an Erasmus+ “Exchange” program. The nomination is an internal process by which 50 % were nominated by effort (grade of professional school, rating sheet and the intermediate examination result) and 50 % were nominated by fortune, so that weaker trainees had also a chance. Trainers were nominated by internal criteria (outstanding commitment, specialty department, language skills). After Nomination, a workshop for preparation in the fields of language, intercultural understanding and organizational issues regarding the upcoming mobility was being held. During the program the participants were assisted by Munich Airport as well as the partner Airport. As a conclusion after the program a wrap-up workshop and a presentation at Munich Airport was held.In close cooperation with the partner, the trainees were placed in various job-related departments and were given responsibility for their own tasks and projects. However, trainees had also the chance for insights into the areas of education and training as well as the workings of other european airports. During there time at our european partner airport they had self-contained tasks and projects in several departments/areas. The participants gained an overall insight into a different european airport (beyond Munich Airport), developed their language skills (English, basic knowledge in another foreign language), improved their intercultural competences (which contributes to the internationalization strategy of Munich Airport) and had several projects such as the creation of a handbook which will serve as a method of knowledge transfer for other future trainees, trainers and staff of Munich Airport. During the mobility, the sending and receiving airports worked together closely to guarantee a high Quality exchange. This ensured the learning success of the trainees. For certification of the newly gained skills and knowledge, they received the “europass Mobilität” and a comment in their professional training certificate. Furthermore, we have gained the experience over the past years that trainees would be preferred over others by the potential takeover department. This shows that this is a distinct takeover advantage of having participated in a erasmus+ mobility. Furthermore, mobility measures also contribute to positioning Munich Airport as an attractive employer for trainees. The expert knowledge and learning from the time abroad was communicated and distributed by individual usage of media, e.g. communicated to the management, recruiters and other staff by a final presentation. These presentations were also uploaded to the Munich Airport Intranet as well as the career website (shorter version). Besides that, reports in irregular intervals have been published in Munich Airports newspaper “Motion”. This ensures a long term benefit for all staff of the company. Public relations for our Erasmus+ project were done via Social Media channels on Facebook, Instagram, the career website of the FMG and in the daily news."
