The general objective of the project was social inclusion of immigrant children through health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA). This was planned to be achieved through five specific objectives:1. to develop network among stakeholders2. to increase capacity to operate at transnational level3. to prepare, implement and develop a training module fit for the target group4. to disseminate the project5. to ensure quality in the coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the project (horizontal objective).The project gathered 5 not-for-profit sport organisations: DSR SUPERKID Croatia, European Institute for Local Development (EILD) Greece, Association Sportiva Diletantisitca Margherita e Vita Basket (MSV Basket) Italy, MEDesTU Portugal and Inonu University Turkey. The project was held for 24 months and the main activities were a) establishing partnerships with national HEPA focal points, b) implementation of the HEPA training module and c) European Week of Sport. Target groups were immigrant children. There were approximately 150 immigrant children (on average 30 per project partner who were 5-17 years of age) involved in the project coming from various countries: Pakisat, Angola, Iraq, Iran, Brazil ....The project delivered the following results:- Signed Memorandum of Understanding with national HEPA focal point in Croatia, membership in EU HEPA network in Italy and partnerships with local organisations that work with immigrant children in Croatia, Italy, Portugal and Greece.Turkish partners has already established partnerships before the project.- Developed HEPA training module for immigrant children- Implemented HEPA training modules with immigrant children in all project partners' countries. Training modules were organised as various sport games and sports such as football, ice skating, basketball, handball etc.- Promotion of the project results during European Week of Sport which was done online and at the national EWoS opening ceremony in CroatiaImmigrant children provided feedback after the training sessions through questionnaires and results show that they had in general a very positive experience during the project training sessions. They felt very happy, entertained and wanted to remain involved in sport activities. After the project, project partners remained in contact with each other. They also kept working with local organisations that work with immigrants and the project consortium are collaborating on new EU project opportunities.
