"<< Objectives >>The project comes from the commitment of the organisers to the implementation of inclusive activities mainly addressed at youngsters who live in vulnerable contexts. It operates mostly through the use of sport, intended as an effective non-formal tool for the acquisition and transmission of core values such as fair play, collaboration and cooperation. The project, therefore, aims at promoting a ""culture of sport” as a tool to enhance social cohesion and stimulate participation and citizenship, but also to build a bridge between different cultures, stimulate intercultural awareness and promote antidiscrimination values among young people coming from suburban areas. The specific objectives of the project are: ●Facilitate the improvement of individual skills of young people between 20 and 30 years old participating in the exchange;●Encourage a greater involvement of young people coming from isolated and suburban areas, to become aware and active citizens in society;●Raise awareness among young people on anti-racism and anti-discrimination issues;●Strengthen foreign language skills and increase awareness and understanding of cultures and countries other than one's own, in order to stimulate a greater and active participation in society and the development of a sense of citizenship and European identity;<< Implementation >>The proposed activities include the implementation of a program in which non-formal learning practices and sports activities will be strongly correlated and aimed at the active involvement of the participants at all stages of the project. The core of the entire program will be: fair play, respect of the rules, teammates and opponents, rights and obligations, cooperation and sharing. The project consists of the following phases:1.PREPARATORY MEETINGPreparation meeting for the implementation of the Youth Exchange, will be held in Lecce from 6 to 8 March 2023. The meeting will see the participation of a representative/group leader for each partner organization, in order to jointly define the road map of the project, establish communication strategies, evaluate intervention methods, also refer to how to support participants. The meeting will also strengthen the relationship among all partners and to take action more successfully in case of any critical issues.2.YOUTH EXCHANGEThe youth exchange will last 8 days, from 18 to 25 June 2023, and will allow young participants to experience inclusion and active citizenship practices through sport. The use of Ice-breaking and team building activities will facilitate the process of mutual knowledge of the participants - and therefore of the different cultures and traditions they represent - team building and intercultural dialogue. Moreover, through Role Playing and Focus Group, participants will be lead to reflect on specific topics, stimulating empathy, active participation, shared responsibility and an improvement of individual and team working skills.Guided tours and moments discussion with local realities will allow a greater knowledge of the territory. The exchange will end with an anti-racist football match.<< Results >>Participants involved in the activity will have the opportunity to increase their transversal skills in an international context, which will allow them to meet other young people, compare themselves with peers and learn from each other; appropriate those healthy values that characterize football and sport in general, such as fair play, cooperation and mutual respect, which can be replicated later in life, as well as sharing good practices that guarantee equitable, participatory and inclusive growth. The activities promoted by the project will make it possible to develop greater sensitivity and attention to important aspects such as the fight against stereotypes and ethnic, religious and sexual discrimination; the value of team building and respect for the rules. Another key concept on which the project wants to affect is the reflection on the importance that sport has on psychophysical well-being. Promoting a healthy lifestyle is extremely important in both individual and community life.Through direct comparison between peers and through constant collaboration with people from different nationalities, participants will understand the value of diversity as a source of mutual enrichment and of cooperation as an instrument of strength. From a qualitative point of view, young people involved are expected to acquire more awareness on diversity and the intercultural approach; greater competence in identifying and critically and constructively analyzing issues and social barriers and developing proposals or strategies to overcome them, increasing one's spirit of initiative; strengthen the values of solidarity, democracy and friendship, cultivating social dialogue."
