This KA107 project has been implemented with institutions from China, Cape Verde, Kazakhstan and Vietnam. The project includes various objectives, adapting to each of the different geographical areas and to the needs initially identified by the partners and included in the previously signed interinstitutional agreements.China and Cape Verde were chosen as partners due to the fact they were considered as priority countries as described in the UVigo Internationalisation Strategy, and since they were selected by the Campus do Mar in its External Projection programme, taking into account their Emerging capacity in marine research. The UVigo Campus do Mar, Campus of International Excellence, establishes cooperation with Portuguese-speaking African countries as a priority in its internationalisation and teacher improvement plan. Thus, cooperation has been collaborating since 2012 with the University of Cape Verde at different levels, carrying out joint activities in training and at the institutional level, contributing to the progress and enrichment of the internationalisation strategy of both universities. Likewise, the collaboration maintained within the framework of the project in 2016 has allowed us to continue strengthening ties between our institutions, through the execution of mobility flows for staff and for students in the field of marine sciences. Similarly, the UVigo has developed an extensive collaboration with the University of Xiamen and the Ocean University of China, universities which with it has participated in the three previous calls, and thanks to which close links have been generated between the research groups in the multidisciplinary framework of the research lines of the Campus do Mar.Likewise, and in order to expand UVigo's internationalisation strategy, it was decided to include Vietnam in this project, after the good experience gained with different Vietnamese universities through previous projects within the framework of the Erasmus + programme. Thus, and in line with the Vietnamese national objective of accelerating the application of ICT, a series of priorities aligned with the UVigo DocTIC doctoral programme have been established, together with the three participating universities, and an ad hoc program has been designed for its implementation during the execution of the mobilities, called DocTech-VN.The Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages of Kazakhstan, as a participating university in the Bologna process, has been part of numerous international projects. The internationalisation strategy of this Kazakh university is aligned with that of the UVigo in the pursuit of the development of the mobility curriculum among the members of its university community, making it a strategic partner for cooperation within the framework of this project. UVigo's relationship with the Kazakh country dates back to its previous participation in other multilateral projects in other areas also under the Erasmus + programme. The expected mobility flows have been severely affected by the incidence of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the extension granted for the execution of the project, the duration of the pandemic at the global level and the harsh measures imposed on mobility in the countries of the participating institutions have prevented a large part of the approved flows from being carried out. In some cases, restrictions for both outgoing and incoming mobility, are still in force today in countries such as China or Vietnam. Additionally, at the end of 2019 a new university was created in Cape Verde, the Universidade Técnica do Atlântico, which meant the splitting of studies in the maritime field so far present at the partner University of Cape Verde, which was an added difficulty to the already caused by the evolution of the pandemic in partner countries. Thus, the mobilities within the framework of this project have been carried out with Kazakhstan before the outbreak of the pandemic, in the case of student mobility, and once mobility restrictions were relaxed in the case of staff mobility to the Universidade de Vigo. However, close contact has been maintained with all participating universities during the life of the project, which has allowed continuity of cooperation for participation in future initiatives and projects, despite the fact that due to force majeure there has not been possible to implement the mobility as initially proposed, so it is worth highlighting the cooperation experience in the framework of the Erasmus + KA107 programme as very positive for the development of the internationalisation strategies of all the partner universities participating in the project and for the strengthening of ties cooperation from the point of view of innovation and academic cooperation.
