The University of Deusto has been successfully participating in the Erasmus Programme for more than 25 years. The results throughout these years have been excellent, making this Programme as an important base within Deusto’s internationalization goals.Following this goal, UD is involved in several strategic international actions, among which the Erasmus+ programme stands out, in all its actions:-Transparent management of both incoming and outgoing mobilities in all phases (selection procedure; before, during & after the mobility), following the principles included in the Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education Institutions.-Signing of Bilateral Agreements.-Complete recognition of successfully completed actions within the Erasmus+ Programme.-E+ grants payments, observing all guidelines and deadlines established by grant agreements.-Design of language courses and second/third language regular courses, available for both incoming and outgoing students.-Design of joint programmes, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as co-directed PhD thesis works.-Giving visibility to all obtained results by sharing mobility experiences from both students and staff members. Regarding 2016-2017 academic year numbers, we are glad to continue increasing our mobility flows in all mobility programmes. Erasmus+ KA103 is still the most popular one, as our numbers state:-382 UD students participated in an E+ mobility (365 in a mobility for studies and 17 for traineeships), at all levels: undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD.-The average duration of our students’ mobilities continues at 5 months for studies, and 4’5 months for traineeships.-17 staff members took part in staff mobility, for both teaching and training purposes.-UD students travelled to 23 different countries within the E+ Programme, being UK, Netherlands, Italy, Sweden and France the most popular destinations.-We received 408 incoming Erasmus+ students.-We had no participant with special needs during 16-17 year, although the University of Deusto mobility actions are based on equality and integration of all community members.-57 UD students received the disadvantaged background E+ mobility grant. The results obtained during the implementation of 2016-1-ES01-KA103 024600 project continue with the E+ trends:-Increasing number of UD outgoing students.-Increasing number of incoming students.-Women participation in students mobility programs is still double to that of males.-20% increase in signed bilateral agreements.-Increasing cooperation and closer vinculation with research partners, in terms of designing of joint programmes.-Improvement of participants’’ language skills, thanks to OLS platform.Mobilities positive impact on UD participants continues increasing year by year, in terms of both academic, personal and professional development, and creating and maintaining strategic international networks. The University of Deusto is very happy with the project progress;as shown in the final reports (completed by the 100% of UD mobilities), participants have enjoyed a high-quality international experience.UD’s goal of academic excellence must imply a global and complete integration of its own community. Thus, UD Internationalization Plan aims to bring internationalization to all academic processes and to its own university community as well, in order to reach a strong, international and multidisciplinary formation that enables UD members to face a globalized world, more interdependent and multicultural than ever. Following its university project, in service to society, the University of Deusto will continue dedicating its resources to the development of consortium networks, boosting an active participation of UD, European and third countries teachers in the development of strong academic links of mutual interest.
