Vocational visa for European landscapes and natural areas 2017

Description

Our institution trains highschool pupils and higher education students specialized in landscaping, wildlife management and environment. We have optional modules in English European section, photography, rugby and mountain hiking. We have been organizing school trips in European countries for many years and since 2009 we have developped European mobilities for students and staff members thanks to European programmes. We have partnerships with Ireland, the United Kingdom, Spain, Finland and now Sweden and Slovenia. We opened a European section taught in English in 2009 which now concerns 7 classes. Higher educaton students from Hungary, Spain and Slovenia joined us to spend six months in our school as cutlural and language assistant in 2014, 2015 and 2017.Our involvement in European exchanges and international cooperation is more and more important. Our goals:- improve our learners professional and language skills and their employability. - help them understand other countries professional methods- open their mind to other cultures- acquire more autonomy- increase the number of students and staff mobilities- increase the partnerships- improve the quality of the mobilities. Thanks to a better organization we managed to reach most of our objectives. Our steering committee defines objectives, plans our actions, selects candidates and works out monitoring documents. We allowed more students than planned in the project to leave abroad but unfortunately the staff mobility was cancelled too late to organize a new one. We organized mentoring meetings to help applicants achieve their projects and we planned preparation days before the departure. When back to school they met the future candidates for a questions and answers session on the mobilities for example.Students and staff present their experience to new classes and teachers present their new skills, knowledge and projects to the whole staff. Results:These mobilities have a ripple effect on the European dynamics of our institution with more and more students and staff applicants. All the participants were really satisfied as they had a great experience and improved their professional , personnal and language skills .The persons in charge of the projects developped methods to be more effcient and the educative team is increasing regularly and is really implied in international projects. We would like to go on developing new partnerships with European schools in order to have more placements and more educational and technical exchanges.
