The type of project is Erasmus Learning mobility for students and staff. The objectives are following: To motivate students and staff to become mobile. To encourage Reykjavik University to create links and enrich the cooperation with other Universities within Europe.To allow students to make the most of their University studies and broaden their minds by going abroad on exchange or internship for one or two semesters. To promote the exchange/internship of expertise and experience on pedagogical methods.The number of students using the grant was 53 and most and the distribution between academic departments was rather even. There is an increase in internships abroad. The number of staff and teacher exchange was 42 thereof 12 teachers.We believe that the benefits for the students are that they come out more mature as individuals with a good ability to work and communicate in a transnational environment as well as developing a stronger and broader network within Europe and worldwide. The benefits for teachers and staff are that they are more open to new ideas, they become more innovative and ready to develop new ideas in teaching and administration. Focused international partnerships provide access to know-how and experience to share as well as active collaboration on education and innovation. Consequently, mobility broadens the capabilities of the university.
