"The University of Perpignan Via Domitia (UPVD) is a public comprehensive higher educaiton institution, which proposes more than one hundred national degree programmes from bachelor’s degree to PhDs. The Research and Education fields are structured around 4 areas through its 3 faculties, 3 institutes and 2 doctoral schools : Arts, Letters, Languages - Sciences, Technology, Health - Humanities and Social Sciences - Law, Economy, Management. The large offer of study programmes is supported by a dynamic research through the association of its 16 laboratories with social-economic actors, industries, competitiveness clusters and great national research organizations.UPVD is known as a university with high international visibility : It receives annually 9500 students, within 23% of international students (within 1/3 of european countries) representing 120 nationalities. By its participation in numerous European & multilateral projects, it has acquired a real know-how in implementation and management of international cooperations, capacity building projects and exchange of good practices, particularly in the field of Education. The international cooperation strategy of the University of Perpignan is in line with the objectives of the Erasmus + program, and aims to develop the internationalization of its study offer through the implementation of mobility programs of excellence and international projects. The opportunity offered by the Erasmus + Higher Education mobility program has allowed the UPVD and its partners to have the capacity to develop their cooperation and to improve the visibility of their institution and of their educational and research program at European and international level.The implementation of the intra-European mobility project for the 2016-2018 contract has participated to this dynamic by meeting with the objectives:- Increasing outgoing mobility for students,- Enhancing internationalization and strengthening the quality of the study offer for the students,- Developing and enhancing the quality of cooperation with universities and partner organizations,- Improving the employability of students,- Developing the awareness and visibility of the institution in the European area of higher education and internationally.The Erasmus + project Mobility for Higher Education 2016-2018, has funded 107 students mobilities. Specifically, the project funded 87 students for studies and 20 students in internship mobility. Students were enrolled in short cycle (6,5%), 1st Cycle (49,5%) and 2nd cycle (44%). The main destination countries were Spain, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. These results are in line with the UPVD policy of international cooperation and partnerships development. The UPVD has signed in 2014, 147 Erasmus+ agreements with 60 universities (including 18 with Spain, 9 with United Kingdom, 3 with Ireland), in 2015, 15 new agreements (including 2 spanish and 1 english universities), in 2016, 25 new agreements with 16 universities (including 5 ES, 1 UK), and in 2017, were signed 21 agreements with 14 universities (including 4 ES, 1 UK and 1 UK).Regarding the profile of the project' participants, women represent 67% of the outgoing mobility, and 33% for men.The administrative and financial management and coordination of the project' activities are carried out by the International Relations Office (SRI) at the central level, and in relation with the services for student life, accounting office and the faculties of UPVD. The selection of participants was done by the Erasmus+ pedagogical coordinators, organized by Field of study. It is based on transparent procedure and criteria, respecting the Erasmus Charter. Participants from incoming and outgoing mobility, received administrative, linguistic and educational support throughout their stay. The SRI organized each semester for incoming students a welcome session and the opportunity to participate to the ""international mentoring"" system, which allow to be welcomed and accompanied by a UPVD student, for a successful integration.The project allowed UPVD to develop its internationalization and the professional skills of staff and students, to led them to better integrate and improve their employability in the European and world market. To obtain multiplier effects in terms of cooperation, UPVD plans to strengthen relationships with partner universities, through new bilateral agreements and structural & integrated multilateral projects that will ensure the sustainability of inter-university exchanges."
