"Developing assessment and guidance through European peer support - project description ""Developing assessment and guidance through European peer support"" is a mobility project for the staff members of Testipiste consortium and its member organisations. The member organisations of our consortium are IUKKY/Edupoli (Coordinator), Ami-säätiö/Amiedu, Eira high school for adults and Axxell Utbildning AB. This project is related to Adult Migrants' Language Assessment and Testing and 13 language teachers and language testers participate in this project. Testipiste is a leading provider of Finnish as a second language assessment and testing considering adult migrants in Finland. We offer the placement testing service in the region of Uusimaa and standardise and develop the assessment of language proficiency by offering a final test for the Finnish studies in integration training and by offering assessment training for teachers. The aim of the project is the development of the staff members' skills in many areas. Due to the changes in the educational field of adult migrants the staff needs to strenghten their skills in guiding the test takers in a suitable training programme with appropriate methods. This project will also enhance personnel's test development skills and strengthen their knowledge of the assessment for learning. We can learn from other countries' good practices. This two-year project consists of 18 mobilities all to conferences and courses of language assessment and testing within Europe. The project also includes study visits to European test development organisations and schools and meetings and interviews with experts in the field of test development. We expect the major impact of the project to be the improved placement testing and guiding practices, as well as more reliable testing and assessment for learning within the member organisations. The results of the project will be shared widely through assessment training for teachers all around the country and through a blog we maintain. Through the extensive network of language testing contacts the impact is expected to be on a national scale."
