CultNet: building capacities and Exchange among Youth workers on culture for inclusion

Description

CULTNET raised the capacities of Youth Workers (YWs), active in the peripheral areas of the cities Padua/Venice (IT), Czestochowa (PL) and Bobo-Dioulasso (BF), to integrate inclusion and diversity measures in their work and use culture as a way to foster youth inclusion and participation. Promoted by a consortium of 4 partners, AICCREVE (IT), CZ ART (PL), Glocal Factory (IT) and Sirabà (BF), with a strong committed to youth work, CULTNET intends to equip youth operators with professional skills and tools to undertake, with their audience, participative, inclusive and multicultural learning paths, revolving around culture and inclusion. To achieve its purposes, the project tested and launched an innovative “package” of multilingual online training resources for the professionalization of YWs. The package includes: 1) a Massive On-line Open training course (MOOC) focused on youth participation and inclusion via cultural engagement. It is structured around 3 modules: a) Active participation; b) Social inclusion; c) Project management. It comprises filmed lectures and talks, reading materials as well as inquiry-oriented formats, tasks to be completed and problems to be solved. Furthermore, upon completion of a final task, the learner is entitled to receive a certificate of attendance, recognizing the competences acquired during the learning experience;2) a Digital Handbook including guidelines for animating a comprehensive learning path revolving around culture and inclusion. The training resources are released in EN, FR, PL and IT. They are conceived to be “usable” by EU and non-EU YWs, having different cultural backgrounds and learning needs. The online tools produced in beta version tested on 51 YWs and young leaders from the 3 countries. YWs, in fact, completed the MOOC, then they worked with youth from disadvantaged districts following the guidelines included in the handbook and, finally, they supported young people in the definition and implementation of youth-led, diversity friendly and fully inclusive cultural events. The testing phase provided the consortium with feedbacks to improve the products before the public launch, which took place during a large dissemination event in IT (with around 4000 people as public). At the same time, the testing phase resulted in an important capacity building investment made on YWs, strengthened by two mobility activities: a job shadowing and a YWs international seminar. 20 YW were involved in the mobility learning from each other about different way to proposed and manage cultural events.
