The project was carried out by Casartigiani, a craft trade association, to fill the gap between skills offered through formal training and those required by the working environment.This has been possible through international mobility for 165 participants (out of which 1 APV) from VET institutes distributed throughout Italy.The following goals have been achieved:- Efforts have been made to encourage students’ WBL in European enterprises in the craft sector and to develop institutional partnerships to support the design and implementation of strategies for the internationalization of work-based learning in all its forms;- Through the experience in organizations, technical-productive and entrepreneurial skills have been transferred to learners in different economic sectors and above all handicraft;-Inclusion of many participants with social or economic disadvantage was encouraged by the selection of partner institutions;- Efforts have been made to preserve the anthropological and cultural heritage of which the craftsman is the guardian, through the transfer of knowledge and skills characterizing individual craft activities;- Transparency and recognition of skills and qualifications through the ECVET methodology used to implement the project have been promoted.Thanks to this project, 165 students and recent graduates(from less than a year) (out of which 1 APV) have carried out a WBL of three months and/or a month in craft enterprises in BE, BG, DE, EL, ES, IE, LT, PT.The learning outcomes have been developed through the ECVET methodology (knowledge, abilities, and competences), thus ensuring transparency, evaluation, validation, and recognition in national and European contexts.At the end of this experience, the participant high schools issued the students the credits of PCTO (WBL), if necessary. In addition, these institutions have been responsible for taking these students to Employment Centres to issue the Citizen’s Booklet and then for the regional recognition of the skills that students have acquired abroad.The Europass Mobility Certificate has been issued to all participants.The learners ISCED sectors: 0214 - Crafts; 0212 - Fashion and design; 0713 - Electrical; 0714 - Electronics & automation; 0715 - Mechanical; 0716 - Maintenance & technical assistance means of transport; 061 - Information and Communication Technologies; 0721 - Transformation of Food Products; 0722 - Materials processing; 0723 - Textiles (clothing, footwear and leather goods).Foreign hosting partners have transferred to learners, through their support, the necessary skills to successfully achieve the expected learning outcomes.An Advance Planning Visit to Ireland was carried out, which allowed an on-site verification of the quality of training offered to learners who carried out their experience abroad.The work plan in the organizations was designed according to ECVET methodology: Units of Learning Outcomes (ULOs), with activities and learning outcomes (LOs). Casartigiani prepared the MoU, signed by the European partners. Based on the MoU, the ECVET-LAs were developed.At the end of the experience, the hosting tutors evaluated the achievement of LOs; a final assessment followed this.The number of internship hours is highlighted by the register, daily signed by learners and tutors.Casartigiani validated the Europass Mobility Certificates.Before their departure and during all their experience abroad, students attended the OLS language course in the host country's language.Tutors and participants periodically completed the monitoring questionnaires. The project management software has allowed the exchange of documents and timely management of all project phases, avoiding delays and risks.The activities were organized in 3 macro-phases: preparation for mobility, implementation and follow-up and transversal activities.The impact of the project has been assessed at local, national and European levels:- Youth employment in the craft sector has been promoted;- Improved autonomy and self-employment of young participants;- Improved quality of training offer, transparency and recognition of skills and qualifications;- It contributed to preserving the anthropological and cultural heritage of which the craftsman is the guardian.The dissemination plan allowed for the extension of the project improved sustainability and highlighted the European added value.
